傳道書12:8 傳道者說：「虛空的虛空，凡事都是虛空。」 「Meaningless! Meaningless! 」says the Teacher

佛教的「虛空觀」與基督教的「虛空觀」是不同的，佛教的「虛空觀」是要人逃避虛空的問題，出家當和尚，基督教的 「虛空觀」，是要人快樂，享受勞錄得來的，當然重更要的，快樂去作自己想要作的，但是要知道，人所作的無論是善是惡，上帝都必審問他（傳道書12:14）。

傳道書9:8 你的衣服當時常潔白，你頭上也不要缺少膏油。 Always be clothed in white, and always anoint your head with oil.
9:9 在你一生虛空的年日，就是　神賜你在日光之下虛空的年日，當同你所愛的妻，快活度日，因為那是你生前在日光之下勞碌的事上所得的分。 Enjoy life with your wife, whom you love, all the days of this meaningless life that God has given you under the sun-- all your meaningless days. For this is your lot in life and in your toilsome labor under the sun.
9:10 凡你手所當做的事要盡力去做；因為在你所必去的陰間沒有工作，沒有謀算，沒有知識，也沒有智慧。 0 Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might, for in the grave, 9:10 Hebrew ((Sheol)) where you are going, there is neither working nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom.
