西番雅書, 1章

^1:1 當猶大王亞們的兒子約西亞在位的時候，耶和華的話臨到希西家的玄孫，亞瑪利雅的曾孫，基大利的孫子，古示的兒子西番雅。 The word of the LORD that came to Zephaniah son of Cushi, the son of Gedaliah, the son of Amariah, the son of Hezekiah, during the reign of Josiah son of Amon king of Judah:
^1:2 耶和華說：我必從地上除滅萬類。 <<I will sweep away everything from the face of the earth,>> r declares the LORD.
^1:3 我必除滅人和牲畜，與空中的鳥、海裏的魚，以及絆腳石和惡人；我必將人從地上剪除。這是耶和華說的。 <<I will sweep away both men and animals; I will sweep away the birds of the air and the fish of the sea. The wicked will have only heaps of rubble 1:3 The meaning of the Hebrew for this line is uncertain. when I cut off man from the face of the earth,>> r declares the LORD.
^1:4 我必伸手攻擊猶大和耶路撒冷的一切居民，也必從這地方剪除所剩下的巴力，並基瑪林的名和祭司， <<I will stretch out my hand against Judah and against all who live in Jerusalem. I will cut off from this place every remnant of Baal, the names of the pagan and the idolatrous priests--
^1:5 與那些在房頂上敬拜天上萬象的，並那些敬拜耶和華指著他起誓，又指著瑪勒堪起誓的， those who bow down on the roofs to worship the starry host, those who bow down and swear by the LORD and who also swear by Molech, 1:5 Hebrew ((Malcam,)) that is, Milcom
^1:6 與那些轉去不跟從耶和華的，和不尋求耶和華也不訪問他的。 those who turn back from following the LORD and neither seek the LORD nor inquire of him.
^1:7 你要在主耶和華面前靜默無聲，因為耶和華的日子快到。耶和華已經預備祭物，將他的客分別為聖。 Be silent before the Sovereign LORD, for the day of the LORD is near. The LORD has prepared a sacrifice; he has consecrated those he has invited.
^1:8 到了我─耶和華獻祭的日子，必懲罰首領和王子，並一切穿外邦衣服的。 On the day of the LORD's sacrifice I will punish the princes and the king's sons and all those clad in foreign clothes.
^1:9 到那日，我必懲罰一切跳過門檻、將強暴和詭詐得來之物充滿主人房屋的。 On that day I will punish all who avoid stepping on the threshold, 1:9 See 1 Samuel 5:5. who fill the temple of their gods with violence and deceit.
^1:10 耶和華說：當那日，從魚門必發出悲哀的聲音，從二城發出哀號的聲音，從山間發出大破裂的響聲。 <<On that day,>> declares the LORD, <<a cry will go up from the Fish Gate, wailing from the New Quarter, and a loud crash from the hills.
^1:11 瑪革提施的居民哪，你們要哀號，因為迦南的商民都滅亡了！凡搬運銀子的都被剪除。 Wail, you who live in the market district; 1:11 Or ((the Mortar)) all your merchants will be wiped out, all who trade with 1:11 Or ((in)) silver will be ruined.
^1:12 那時，我必用燈巡查耶路撒冷；我必懲罰那些如酒在渣滓上澄清的；他們心裏說：耶和華必不降福，也不降禍。 At that time I will search Jerusalem with lamps and punish those who are complacent, who are like wine left on its dregs, who think, <The LORD will do nothing, either good or bad.>
^1:13 他們的財寶必成為掠物；他們的房屋必變為荒場。他們必建造房屋，卻不得住在其內；栽種葡萄園，卻不得喝所出的酒。 Their wealth will be plundered, their houses demolished. They will build houses but not live in them; they will plant vineyards but not drink the wine.
^1:14 耶和華的大日臨近，臨近而且甚快，乃是耶和華日子的風聲；勇士必痛痛地哭號。 <<The great day of the LORD is near-- near and coming quickly. Listen! The cry on the day of the LORD will be bitter, the shouting of the warrior there.
^1:15 那日是忿怒的日子，是急難困苦的日子，是荒廢淒涼的日子，是黑暗幽冥、密雲烏黑的日子， That day will be a day of wrath, a day of distress and anguish, a day of trouble and ruin, a day of darkness and gloom, a day of clouds and blackness,
^1:16 是吹角吶喊的日子，要攻擊堅固城和高大的城樓。 a day of trumpet and battle cry against the fortified cities and against the corner towers.
^1:17 我必使災禍臨到人身上，使他們行走如同瞎眼的，因為得罪了我。他們的血必倒出如灰塵；他們的肉必拋棄如糞土。 I will bring distress on the people and they will walk like blind men, because they have sinned against the LORD. Their blood will be poured out like dust and their entrails like filth.
^1:18 當耶和華發怒的日子，他們的金銀不能救他們；他的忿怒如火必燒滅全地，毀滅這地的一切居民，而且大大毀滅。 Neither their silver nor their gold will be able to save them on the day of the LORD's wrath. In the fire of his jealousy the whole world will be consumed, for he will make a sudden end of all who live in the earth.>>

五月廿三日「他們的智慧無法可施。於是他們在苦難中哀求耶和華，祂從他們的禍患中領出他們來。」詩一○七篇27、28節基督徒哪！你的愁眉緊鎖，你是到了才窮智竭的地步，你是不是在想面前的遭遇，以及承擔著種種重負？全世界都像與你相忤，你在戰場上孤獨無助？要記得到了才窮智竭的地步，神的豐滿和能力才會顯露。你四周的苦痛，使你眼花撩亂，你是否到了才窮智竭的地步，你覺得力不能支持否！這種緊張的局面無法應付？不斷的苦難，使你帶著種種傷痕，昏暈，麻木，如生疾痼。要記著：到了才窮智竭的地步，就會得著耶穌的愛護。環境在你的面前展開，你是否到了才窮智竭的地步，這正在開始，尚待結束，它們侵擾你的心，如蝕如磨。渴望有能力去處理，伸出的手卻顫抖無措。要記得：到了才窮智竭的地步，耶穌就會卸下你的重負。你是否到了才窮智竭的地步，那麼你所站立之處，正可認識從不失誤的，神所有的神奇財富，你的腳步即將移向更光明的道路。唯有到了才窮智竭的地步，才能證實萬能的天父。　　　　　　　　　　─威爾遜你不要失望；也許最後一把鑰匙，它纔是替你開了門。　　　　　　　　　　─司單雪弗

May 23 　"At their wit's end, they cry unto the Lord in their trouble, and he bringeth them out."(Psalm 107:27, 28.) Are you standing at "Wit's End Corner," 　Christian, with troubled brow? Are you thinking of what is before you, 　And all you are bearing now? Does all the world seem against you, 　And you in the battle alone? Remember─at "Wit's End Corner" 　Is just where God's power is shown. Are you standing at "Wit's End Corner," 　Blinded with wearying pain, Feeling you cannot endure it, 　You cannot bear the strain, Bruised through the constant suffering, 　Dizzy, and dazed, and numb? Remember─at "Wit's End Corner" 　Is where Jesus loves to come. Are you standing at "Wit's End Corner"? 　Your work before you spread, All lying begun, unfinished, 　And pressing on heart and head, Longing for strength to do it, 　Stretching out trembling hands? Remember─at "Wit's End Corner" 　The Buraen-beerer stands. ■ 永活之泉（05月23日）

五月廿三日　整天─每天「我要天天稱頌您。」詩篇一四五篇2節立志每天在神的話語中與神交通，是基督徒前進的動力，他熱誠堅毅地實行，會給他帶來成功的冠冕，他的經驗有幾分是這樣：早晨醒來他首先想到神，他必須花點兒時間禱告，也給神時間成全他的祈求並啟示祂自己，並且把自己的要求呈明在神面前，期望祂的回答。在一天當中，他隨時抽出幾分鐘保持與神交通；到了晚上安靜的時間，他反省一天的工作，憑著神赦罪的應許，承認他所犯的過錯，並重新將自己獻給神和祂的事工。這樣，他漸漸就明白他的生命到底缺少什麼，並且也說：不單「每天」而且「整天」，他要求聖靈如呼吸般不停地運行；在內室中，他的目標是整天憑信心支取聖靈，及主耶穌和父神的同在，並幫助他所做的一切。一整天！基督徒，聖靈要求：「今天」「現在是接受的時間！」如果一位接受很痛苦手術的病人問醫生說：「我何時可以起床？」回答是：「某日某時。」這是基督徒生活的律，神每天賜下嗎哪，在早晚獻祭——藉此神使祂的兒女渡過一天的生活。今天尋求聖靈引導你一天的生活，不需要為明天憂慮；但你可確信聖靈明天亦可帶領你渡過，正如今天一樣。

■ 中文屬天日子（05月23日）

五月廿三日　沒有信心的憂慮「不要為生命憂慮，吃甚麼，喝甚麼，為身體憂慮，穿甚麼。」馬太福音六章25節一個門徒憑著常識去憂慮，耶穌把它看為不信的表現。如果我們領受了神的靈，祂必上前來，說：「神對於這種關係，這種劃定的假期，這些新書，有甚麼關係呢」？不到我們學會了先求祂的旨意，祂總得注意這一點。無論何時我們把別的事情放在最前面，那就免不了混亂的狀況。「不要憂慮……」──不要靠自己的憂慮。憂慮，不但是不對，而且是不信，因為憂慮是表示我們不以神能看顧我們生活的實際需要；叫我們憂慮的，也就是這，絕不是別的事。你曾留心耶穌說，把道擠住的是甚麼？是惡魔麼？不是，是世上的憂慮。而且總是小小的憂慮。我不能見到的，我不信，那就是不信的起點。不信的唯一救法，就是順服聖靈的引導。耶穌向門徒所說的最重要的話，是放棄一切，順從祂。

五月廿三日「我也曉得去的時候，必帶著基督豐盛的恩典去。」羅馬書十五章29節許多基督徒想得到一切的祝福，卻不以基督為中心。他們想得到救恩的祝福，但那並非基督本身；他們想得到祂恩典的幫助，然而基督的恩典也不是基督；他們甚至為了要能事奉祂，而盼望禱告有答覆。可是他們就算擁有那一切，也可能沒有基督本身這個祝福。還有不少人想得到喜樂的祝福，這仍然不是得著基督的祝福；也有人與教會、牧師或弟兄姊妹非常親近，但內心也未必擁有基督。在一切事情都失敗時，真正能填滿我們裡面的，乃是與我們合而為一的耶穌的愛。當一切都凋萎、耗盡之後，耶穌基督自己仍然是我們全部祝福的來源，祂不僅是忠實的，而且是永恆的。
