民數記, 1章

1:1 以色列人出埃及地後,第二年二月初一日,耶和華在西奈的曠野、會幕中曉諭摩西說: The LORD spoke to Moses in the Tent of Meeting in the Desertof Sinai on the first day of the second month of the second yearafter the Israelites came out of Egypt. He said:
1:2 「你要按以色列全會眾的家室、宗族、人名的數目計算所有的男丁。 <<Take a census of the whole Israelite community by their clansand families, listing every man by name, one by one.
1:3 凡以色列中,從二十歲以外,能出去打仗的,你和亞倫要照他們的軍隊數點。 You and Aaron are to number by their divisions all the men inIsrael twenty years old or more who are able to serve in the army.
1:4 每支派中必有一人作本支派的族長,幫助你們。 One man from each tribe, each the head of his family, is to helpyou.
1:5 他們的名字:屬呂便的,有示丟珥的兒子以利蓿; These are the names of the men who are to assist you: from Reuben, Elizur son of Shedeur;
1:6 屬西緬的,有蘇利沙代的兒子示路蔑; from Simeon, Shelumiel son of Zurishaddai;
1:7 屬猶大的,有亞米拿達的兒子拿順; from Judah, Nahshon son of Amminadab;
1:8 屬以薩迦的,有蘇押的兒子拿坦業; from Issachar, Nethanel son of Zuar;
1:9 屬西布倫的,有希倫的兒子以利押; from Zebulun, Eliab son of Helon;
1:10 約瑟子孫、屬以法蓮的,有亞米忽的兒子以利沙瑪;屬瑪拿西的,有比大蓿的兒子迦瑪列; from the sons of Joseph:from Ephraim, Elishama son of Ammihud;from Manasseh, Gamaliel son of Pedahzur;
1:11 屬便雅憫的,有基多尼的兒子亞比但; from Benjamin, Abidan son of Gideoni;
1:12 屬但的,有亞米沙代的兒子亞希以謝; from Dan, Ahiezer son of Ammishaddai;
1:13 屬亞設的,有俄蘭的兒子帕結; from Asher, Pagiel son of Ocran;
1:14 屬迦得的,有丟珥的兒子以利雅薩; from Gad, Eliasaph son of Deuel;
1:15 屬拿弗他利的,有以南的兒子亞希拉。 from Naphtali, Ahira son of Enan.>>
1:16 這都是從會中選召的,各作本支派的首領,都是以色列軍中的統領。」 These were the men appointed from the community, the leaders of their ancestral tribes. They were the heads of the clans of Israel.
1:17 於是,摩西、亞倫帶著這些按名指定的人, Moses and Aaron took these men whose names had been given,
1:18 當二月初一日招聚全會眾。會眾就照他們的家室、宗族、人名的數目,從二十歲以外的,都述說自己的家譜。 and they called the whole community together on the first day of the second month. The people indicated their ancestry by their clans and families, and the men twenty years old or more were listed by name, one by one,
1:19 耶和華怎樣吩咐摩西,他就怎樣在西奈的曠野數點他們。 as the LORD commanded Moses. And so he counted them in the Desert of Sinai:
1:20 以色列的長子,呂便子孫的後代,照著家室、宗族、人名的數目,從二十歲以外,凡能出去打仗、被數的男丁,共有四萬六千五百名。 From the descendants of Reuben the firstborn son of Israel:All the men twenty years old or more who were able to serve in the army were listed by name, one by one, according to the records oftheir clans and families.
1:21 以色列的長子,呂便子孫的後代,照著家室、宗族、人名的數目,從二十歲以外,凡能出去打仗、被數的男丁,共有四萬六千五百名。 The number from the tribe of Reuben was 46,500.
1:22 西緬子孫的後代,照著家室、宗族、人名的數目,從二十歲以外,凡能出去打仗、被數的男丁,共有五萬九千三百名。 From the descendants of Simeon:All the men twenty years old or more who were able to serve inthe army were counted and listed by name, one by one, according to the records of their clans and families.
1:23 西緬子孫的後代,照著家室、宗族、人名的數目,從二十歲以外,凡能出去打仗、被數的男丁,共有五萬九千三百名。 The number from the tribe of Simeon was 59,300.
1:24 迦得子孫的後代,照著家室、宗族、人名的數目,從二十歲以外,凡能出去打仗、被數的,共有四萬五千六百五十名。 From the descendants of Gad: All the men twenty years old or more who were able to serve in the army were listed by name, according to the records of their clans and families.
1:25 迦得子孫的後代,照著家室、宗族、人名的數目,從二十歲以外,凡能出去打仗、被數的,共有四萬五千六百五十名。 The number from the tribe of Gad was 45,650.
1:26 猶大子孫的後代,照著家室、宗族、人名的數目,從二十歲以外,凡能出去打仗、被數的,共有七萬四千六百名。 From the descendants of Judah: All the men twenty years old or more who were able to serve in the army were listed by name, according to the records of their clans and families.
1:27 猶大子孫的後代,照著家室、宗族、人名的數目,從二十歲以外,凡能出去打仗、被數的,共有七萬四千六百名。 The number from the tribe of Judah was 74,600.
1:28 以薩迦子孫的後代,照著家室、宗族、人名的數目,從二十歲以外,凡能出去打仗、被數的,共有五萬四千四百名。 From the descendants of Issachar: All the men twenty years old or more who were able to serve inthe army were listed by name, according to the records of their clans and families.
1:29 以薩迦子孫的後代,照著家室、宗族、人名的數目,從二十歲以外,凡能出去打仗、被數的,共有五萬四千四百名。 The number from the tribe of Issachar was 54,400.
1:30 西布倫子孫的後代,照著家室、宗族、人名的數目,從二十歲以外,凡能出去打仗、被數的,共有五萬七千四百名。 From the descendants of Zebulun: All the men twenty years old or more who were able to serve inthe army were listed by name, according to the records of their clans and families.
1:31 西布倫子孫的後代,照著家室、宗族、人名的數目,從二十歲以外,凡能出去打仗、被數的,共有五萬七千四百名。 The number from the tribe of Zebulun was 57,400.

1:38 但子孫的後代,照著家室、宗族、人名的數目,從二十歲以外,凡能出去打仗、被數的,共有六萬二千七百名。 From the descendants of Dan: All the men twenty years old or more who were able to serve in the army were listed by name, according to the records of their clans and families.
1:39 但子孫的後代,照著家室、宗族、人名的數目,從二十歲以外,凡能出去打仗、被數的,共有六萬二千七百名。 The number from the tribe of Dan was 62,700.
1:40 亞設子孫的後代,照著家室、宗族、人名的數目,從二十歲以外,凡能出去打仗、被數的,共有四萬一千五百名。 From the descendants of Asher: All the men twenty years old or more who were able to serve in the army were listed by name, according to the records of their clans and families.

1:42 拿弗他利子孫的後代,照著家室、宗族、人名的數目,從二十歲以外,凡能出去打仗、被數的,共有五萬三千四百名。 From the descendants of Naphtali: All the men twenty years old or more who were able to serve in the army were listed by name, according to the records of their clans and families.
1:43 拿弗他利子孫的後代,照著家室、宗族、人名的數目,從二十歲以外,凡能出去打仗、被數的,共有五萬三千四百名。 The number from the tribe of Naphtali was 53,400.
1:44 這些就是被數點的,是摩西、亞倫,和以色列中十二個首領所數點的;這十二個人各作各宗族的代表。 These were the men counted by Moses and Aaron and the twelve leaders of Israel, each one representing his family.
1:45 這樣,凡以色列人中被數的,照著宗族,從二十歲以外,能出去打仗、被數的,共有六十萬零三千五百五十名。 All the Israelites twenty years old or more who were able to serve in Israel's army were counted according to their families.
1:46 這樣,凡以色列人中被數的,照著宗族,從二十歲以外,能出去打仗、被數的,共有六十萬零三千五百五十名。 The total number was 603,550.
1:47 利未人卻沒有按著支派數在其中, The families of the tribe of Levi, however, were not counted along with the others.
1:48 因為耶和華曉諭摩西說: The LORD had said to Moses:
1:49 「惟獨利未支派你不可數點,也不可在以色列人中計算他們的總數。 <<You must not count the tribe of Levi or include them in the census of the other Israelites.
1:50 只要派利未人管法櫃的帳幕和其中的器具,並屬乎帳幕的;他們要抬〔或譯:搬運〕帳幕和其中的器具,並要辦理帳幕的事,在帳幕的四圍安營。 Instead, appoint the Levites to be in charge of the tabernacle of the Testimony--over all its furnishings and everything belonging to it. They are to carry the tabernacle and all its furnishings; they are to take care of it and encamp around it.
1:51 帳幕將往前行的時候,利未人要拆卸;將支搭的時候,利未人要豎起。近前來的外人必被治死。 Whenever the tabernacle is to move, the Levites are to take it down, and whenever the tabernacle is to be set up, the Levites shall do it. Anyone else who goes near it shall be put to death.
1:52 以色列人支搭帳棚,要照他們的軍隊,各歸本營,各歸本纛。 The Israelites are to set up their tents by divisions, each man in his own camp under his own standard.
1:53 但利未人要在法櫃帳幕的四圍安營,免得忿怒臨到以色列會眾;利未人並要謹守法櫃的帳幕。」 The Levites, however, are to set up their tents around the tabernacle of the Testimony so that wrath will not fall on the Israelite community. The Levites are to be responsible for the care of the tabernacle of the Testimony.>>
1:54 以色列人就這樣行。凡耶和華所吩咐摩西的,他們就照樣行了。 The Israelites did all this just as the LORD commanded Moses.

    「亞伯拉罕所信的,是那叫死人復活,使無變為有的神,他在主面前作我們世人的父。如經上所記,我已立你作多國的父。」羅馬書四章17節

    亞伯拉罕為甚麼這樣信靠神?照世人的眼光看來,亞伯拉罕到了這麼大的年齡,是不能再有作父親的希望了;但是神卻在他還沒有一些生子的兆頭以先,就叫他「多國的父」了;神既這樣說,亞伯拉罕就這樣信。這就是信心;信心就是相信擁護神所說的。信心舉步的時候,彷彿前面全是空虛;但是腳一踏上去,就立即發見底下有一塊穩固的磐石了。

    神說你有甚麼,你就信你有甚麼;這樣,神必將你所信的給你。

    你應當甘心樂意地過著信心的生活,不要羨慕別的。雖然你看見你外面的燈光都熄滅了,天上的星光也蒙蔽了,四圍剩下的只是黑暗和危險,但是你還該歡喜快樂,因為知道神在你內心仍給你留下屬靈的燦爛─信心點燃的明燈。

    時候已經到了,你不該再棲息懷疑的木竿上了,走出你自以為安全的巢窩,披上信心的翅翼罷;小鳥兒必須出來學習飛了。學習的時候,牠深怕自己會跌下去,可是事實上並沒有跌─牠的翅膀支住了牠。讀者啊,只要信靠神,「你必要站住。」(羅十四4)你也許要說:「我這樣軟弱的人,未必會得著能力罷!」神說:「你會」。你也許要說:「我這易受誘惑、易於降服的天性,未必會得著勝利罷!」神說:「你會」。你也許要說:「我這怯懦震顫的心魂,未必會得著安寧罷!」神說:「你會」。神既這樣說過,你當然不能以神為說謊的!說過了,難道會不去作嗎?所以如果已經得到了神一句話─—一個確實的允許—─你就當絲毫不疑完完全全地信任祂,因為你不只有一句確實的話,你也有一位說這話的信實的主。

    "God...calleth those things which be not as though they were." (Rom. 4:17.)

     WHAT does that mean? Why Abraham did this thing: he dared to believe God. It seemed an impossibility at his age that Abraham should become the father of a child; it looked incredible; and yet God called him a "father of many nations" before there was a sign of a child; and so Abraham called himself "father" because God called him so. That is faith; it is to believe and assert what God says. "Faith steps on seeming void, and finds the rock beneath."

     Only say you have what God says you have, and He will make good to you all you believe. Only it must be real faith, all there is in you must go over in that act of faith to God.

     Be willing to live by believing and neither think nor desire to live in any other way. Be willing to see every outward light extinguished, to see the eclipse of every star in the blue heavens, leaving nothing but darkness and perils around, if God will only leave in thy soul the inner radiance, the pure bright lamp which faith has kindled.

     The moment has come when you must get off the perch of distrust, out of the nest of seeming safety, and onto the wings of faith; just such a time as comes to the bird when it must begin to try the air. It may seem as though you must drop to the earth; so it may seem to the fledgling. It, too, may feel very like falling; but it does not fall-it's pinions give it support, or, if they fail, the parent birds sweeps under and bears it upon its wings. Even so will God bear you. Only trust Him; "thou shalt be holden up." "Well, but" you say, "am I to cast myself upon nothing?" That is what the bird seems to have to do; but we know the air is there, and the air is not so unsubstantial as it seems. And you know the promises of God are there, and they are not unsubstantial at all. "But it seems an unlikely thing to come about that my poor weak soul should be girded with such strength." Has God said it shall? "That my tempted, yielding nature shall be victor in the strife." Has God said it shall? "That my timorous, trembling heart shall find peace?" Has God said it shall? for, if He has, you surely do not mean to give Him the lie! Hath he spoken, and shall He not do it? If you have gotten a word- "a sure word" of promise-take it implicitly, trust it absolutely. And this sure word you have; nay, you have more-you have Him who speaks the word confidently. "Yea, I say unto you," trust Him.

    七月十三日 遵基督而行

    「你們既然接受了主基督耶穌就當遵祂而行,在祂裏面生根建造、信心堅固,正如你們所領教訓感謝的心也更增加了。」歌羅西書二章6、7節

    這裏再一次提到我們的兩種生命,首先說出:「你們既然接受了主基督耶穌,」這句話包括了悔改、罪愆,籍著耶穌基督的寶血而蒙赦免,成為神的兒女等等。接著就是:「當遵祂而行,在祂裏面生根」,就像一棵樹一樣,從地下吸收生長結果子所需要的養分。「在祂裏面建造」表明基督是唯一的根基,「堅固你的信心,使之增長」,每天藉著基督徒的交談和行事可證明他住在基督裏,正如樹根從土壤吸收養分,使其生命不致於中斷,基督徒從基督裏漸漸地接受生命和能力。

    由宗教改革到信心宣告時代,悔改和接受基督是為人所重視,「稱義」和「成為義」等字眼常被人提及;但「成聖」卻少有人問津。罪得赦免,因信耶穌而在神面前被稱為義的教義為人所重視,但很少可聽到基督內住。我們要在祂裏面生根。海得堡(Heidelberg)的教理問答對於十誡有所解釋,但基督的命令在馬太五章以及約翰十三至十六章中,卻隻字不提。

    讓我們一方面為宗教改革安放了基督真理的根基而感謝神,同時使我們也進到完全的地步,每天遵照基督而行,好叫我們信心增長、經歷豐盛的恩典,與每天以內住的基督為樂。聖經中有句話最能形容真正的虔誠生活:「以諾與神同行」,所以基督徒必須每天傚法基督,使信心增長,在主裏擴大。

    七月十三日 異象的代價

    「當烏西雅王崩的那年,我見主。」以賽亞書六章1節

    我們與神交往的靈性關係,每每在我所依恃的英雄死去之後才能發展。神屢屢挪開我們的朋友,以便自己佔領他們的地位,那就是我們沮喪失敗氣餒的所在。現在拿這個來衡量我自己:當神把我所崇拜的那個人接去了──我是捨棄了一切麼?我病過麼?我灰過心麼?或──我看見了主麼?

    我們得見神的異象,是以我們的品性為轉移。品性能決定啟示。在我能說「我也看見主」這句話之前,必是我的品性與神有相似的地方。不到我重生,開始看見神的國,我所見的,只是我偏見的路線;我所需要的是外面的割治,內面的洗滌。

    必要把神放在前面,放在左邊,放在右邊,直到生命與神面對面,緊緊相接而無一點兒隔閡。「神啊,在這世界上除您以外,沒有別的,在您以外,沒有別的」。

    要不斷的付出代價,讓神知道你情願達到異象的生活吧!

    「因為基督也不求自己的喜悅……」羅馬書十五章3節

    願我們今天能為基督和他人忘卻自己。願我們不要老是要別人事奉我們,相反的,能像主一樣說:「……然而我在你們中間,如同服事人的。」(路廿二23)願我們不要整天背著自己的負擔,倒要丟下成千的掛慮,自由地背起祂的軛和重擔。願我們做個快樂的交換:放下我們的包袱,揹起祂的來。並且與祂立約:「……你當多日為我獨居……。」(何三3)

    與神立約之後,我們會脫去自己的重擔,並得著最大的喜樂和屬神的愛,並且瞭解「施比受更為有福」(徒廿35)的道理。願我們有機會就向人行善,尋找服事的機會、為神使用巧妙的方法。最重要的是,願我們領人歸主。

    屬天的日子是忙碌的,
    愛神的人不斷地事奉,
    為神為人運用光陰,
    就像渡過天上的時光。
