那鴻書, 1章

1:1 論尼尼微的默示,就是伊勒歌斯人那鴻所得的默示。 An oracle concerning Nineveh. The book of the vision of Nahum the Elkoshite.
1:2 耶和華是忌邪施報的 神。耶和華施報大有忿怒;向他的敵人施報,向他的仇敵懷怒。 The LORD is a jealous and avenging God; the LORD takes vengeance and is filled with wrath. The LORD takes vengeance on his foes and maintains his wrath against his enemies.
1:3 耶和華不輕易發怒,大有能力,萬不以有罪的為無罪。他乘旋風和暴風而來,雲彩為他腳下的塵土。 The LORD is slow to anger and great in power; the LORD will not leave the guilty unpunished. His way is in the whirlwind and the storm, and clouds are the dust of his feet.
1:4 他斥責海,使海乾了,使一切江河乾涸。巴珊和迦密的樹林衰殘;黎巴嫩的花草也衰殘了。 He rebukes the sea and dries it up; he makes all the rivers run dry. Bashan and Carmel wither and the blossoms of Lebanon fade.
1:5 大山因他震動;小山也都消化。大地在他面前突起;世界和住在其間的也都如此。 The mountains quake before him and the hills melt away. The earth trembles at his presence, the world and all who live in it.
1:6 他發忿恨,誰能立得住呢?他發烈怒,誰能當得起呢?他的忿怒如火傾倒;磐石因他崩裂。 Who can withstand his indignation? Who can endure his fierce anger? His wrath is poured out like fire; the rocks are shattered before him.
1:7 耶和華本為善,在患難的日子為人的保障,並且認得那些投靠他的人。 The LORD is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in him,
1:8 但他必以漲溢的洪水淹沒尼尼微,又驅逐仇敵進入黑暗。 but with an overwhelming flood he will make an end of (((Nineveh))); he will pursue his foes into darkness.
1:9 尼尼微人哪,設何謀攻擊耶和華呢?他必將你們滅絕淨盡;災難不再興起。 Whatever they plot against the LORD he 1:9 Or ((What do you foes plot against the LORD? / He)) will bring to an end; trouble will not come a second time.
1:10 你們像叢雜的荊棘,像喝醉了的人,又如枯乾的碎秸全然燒滅。 They will be entangled among thorns and drunk from their wine; they will be consumed like dry stubble. 1:10 The meaning of the Hebrew for this verse is uncertain.
1:11 有一人從你那裏出來,圖謀邪惡,設惡計攻擊耶和華。 From you, (((O Nineveh,))) has one come forth who plots evil against the LORD and counsels wickedness.
1:12 耶和華如此說:尼尼微雖然勢力充足,人數繁多,也被剪除,歸於無有。猶大啊,我雖然使你受苦,卻不再使你受苦。 This is what the LORD says: <<Although they have allies and are numerous, they will be cut off and pass away. Although I have afflicted you, (((O Judah,))) I will afflict you no more.
1:13 現在我必從你頸項上折斷他的軛,扭開他的繩索。 Now I will break their yoke from your neck and tear your shackles away.>>
1:14 耶和華已經出令,指著尼尼微說:你名下的人必不留後;我必從你神的廟中除滅雕刻的偶像和鑄造的偶像;我必因你鄙陋,使你歸於墳墓。 The LORD has given a command concerning you, (((Nineveh))): <<You will have no descendants to bear your name. I will destroy the carved images and cast idols that are in the temple of your gods. I will prepare your grave, for you are vile.>>
1:15 看哪,有報好信傳平安之人的腳登山,說:猶大啊,可以守你的節期,還你所許的願吧!因為那惡人不再從你中間經過,他已滅絕淨盡了。 Look, there on the mountains, the feet of one who brings good news, who proclaims peace! Celebrate your festivals, O Judah, and fulfill your vows. No more will the wicked invade you; they will be completely destroyed.

荒漠甘泉五合一

■ 中文荒漠甘泉(04月03日)
四月三日 「因你們要在火中榮耀耶和華。」以賽亞書廿四章15節(直譯) 注意這小字「在!」我們要在火中─試煉中(彼前四12)—─榮耀祂。雖然那裏是一個受苦的地方,我們要用信心來榮耀祂。我們相信祂是良善的、慈愛的,祂既准許「火煉的試驗臨到」我們,我們相信試煉過後,我們會有更多讚美和感謝的根據; 祗有大信心才能通過火的試煉,小信必注定失敗,讓我們爭取烈火中的得勝!           ─波登 在困難中的才能表現他的信心堅決,被投入烈焰中的三個少年人(但以理的同伴),他們從火焰中出來的時候,和被投進去的時候只有一點不同─—他們的捆綁已經解除了。 神使他們經過了爐火的試煉,結果毫無損傷─—身體不傷,頭髮不焦,衣裳不變色,也沒有火燎氣味。前後不同的就是身上缺了捆綁,臉上添了榮光。難怪褻瀆神的尼布甲尼撒不得不屈服來讚美榮耀神了。今天基督徒從試煉的爐中出來的時候,也該這樣—─脫了捆綁,添上榮光,絲毫不受火的影響。           ─選 「就仗著十字架誇勝。」(西二15) 這是真正的得勝,從疾病中戰勝病魔,從奄奄一息中戰勝死亡,從逆境中戰勝。心需相信,在奮鬥中,有一種使我們勝利的力量。要從試煉之中去獲取勝利。基督在祂的屈辱中得到勝利。我們的勝利,或許也要從別人認為屈辱的境遇中去發現。           ─波登 有許多人,肩頭上壓著沈重的擔子,心中仍滿了喜樂,豈非可奇嗎?有許多人在受到逼迫攻擊之下,仍能得勝有餘,豈非可敬?有許多人身體破碎,仍保持著完好的信心,豈非可羨?他們的見證何等美好!           ─喬懷德 人間的支柱都在動搖,  生命如在烈火中煎熬, 你是否不愧為基督信徒, 鎮定,自在而心無牢騷?
■ 英文荒漠甘泉(04月03日)
April 3  "Glorify ye the Lord in the fires."(Isa. 24:15.)  MARK the little word "in" ! We are to honor Him in the trial─in that which is an affliction indeed and though there have been cases where God did not let His saints feel the fire, yet, ordinarily, fire hurts.  But just here we are to glorify Him by our perfect faith in His goodness and love that has permitted all this to come upon us.  And more than that, we are to believe that out of this is coming something more for His praise than could have come but for this fiery trial.  We can only go through some fires with a large faith; little faith will fail. We must have the victory in the furnace.            ─Margaret Bottome.  A man has as much religion as he can show in times of trouble. The men who were cast into the fiery furnace came out as they went in─except their bonds.  How often in some furnace of affliction God strikes them off! Their bodies were unhurt─their skin not even blistered. Their hair was unsinged, their garments not scorched, and even the smell of fire had not passed upon them. And that is the way Christians should come out of furnace trials─liberated from their bonds, but untouched by the flames.  "Triumphing over them in it." (Col. 2:15.)  That is the real triumph─triumphing over sickness, in it; triumphing over death, dying; triumphing over adverse circumstances, in them. Oh. believe me, there is a power that can make us victors in the strife. There are heights to be reached where we can look down and over the way we have come, and sing our song of triumph on this side of Heaven. We can make others regard us as rich, while we are poor, and make many rich in our poverty. Our triumph is to be in it. Christ's triumph was in His humiliation. Possibly our triumph, also, is to be made manifest in what seems to others humiliation.           ─Margaret Bottome.  Is there not something captivating in the sight of a man or a woman burdended with many tribulations and yet carrying a heart as sound as a bell? is there not something contagiously valorous in the vision of one who is greatly tempted, but is more than conqueror? Is it not heartening to see some pilgrim who is broken in body, but who retains the splendor of an unbroken patience? What a witness all this offers to the enduement of His grace!            ─J. H. 四月三日 神的愛 「你要盡心,盡性,盡力,愛耶和華你的神。」申命記六章5節 神教導亞伯拉罕「甚麼叫作全心的相信神」,他的信心是那樣剛強,且將榮耀歸給神。摩西教導以色列民第一條且最大的誡命是:「要全心地愛神。」這第一條誡命,很自然地也就成了其他誡命的根源。其立場乃是神和人之間的關係:也就是那位滿有愛心的創造者,和照著祂的形像所造,且是祂施愛的對象之間的關係。這乃是一切事務該具備有不可缺少的要素。人的生命、命運和快樂全在於他能盡心盡力的愛神。摩西說:「耶和華……喜悅你的列祖,愛他們。」(申十15)這樣的一位神配得著人無限量的愛。我們一切的信仰,我們對神所有的信心和順服,以及我們的一生,都是因這思想而得力:我們要盡心盡力地愛神,神的兒女每一天主要的責任,就是活出這條誡命。 以色列人是多麼不能順服我們眾人所熟知的誡命。但是在摩西去世以前,當他說完了神因著他們的罪所要降於祂子民的審判後,他就使他們知道這應許:「耶和華你神必使你的心與你後裔的心受割禮。」不是人手所行的割禮,乃是基督在十字架上的割禮。(西二11)「好叫你盡心、盡性,愛耶和華你的神。」(申卅6另釋) 這個有福的應許乃是新約內容的首次提示。在此,耶利米曾預言律法要藉著聖靈寫在他們心裏,使他們不再離開神,且照著神的方式來行事為人。但是基督徒對於這點所明白的,是何等的少呢!他們是多麼容易安於這種想法:這是不可能。 讓我們來學這雙重的功課,神所要求的乃是這種完全的心:要盡我們所能的愛祂;這也是神永遠配得的,並且這種完全的心也是神——祂的名是可稱頌的——賜給我們且作工在我們裏面的。讓我們的全人在信心裏前來迎接、等候,並期望這應許的成全——以全心來愛神。這是神自己在我們裏面所要完成的。 「所賜給我們的聖靈,將神的愛澆灌在我們心裏。」聖靈使那全心愛祂的恩典,成為格外的確實與有福。

四月三日 巴不得你知道 「巴不得你在這日子,知道關係你平安的事!無奈這事現在是隱藏的,叫你的眼看不出來。」路加福音十九章42節 耶穌凱旋的進入耶路撒冷,合城都震動了;但是有個奇怪之神在那裡,就是法利賽教的傲慢,雖然具有宗教與保守性,但是是一座「粉飾的墳墓」。 我在現時,有甚麼瞎了我的眼呢?我支配性情的奇怪之神──不是可憎的怪物──乃是我自己的劣根性麼?神屢次使我與那奇怪之神面對面,我也屢次想投誠,但是未曾做到,我剛剛渡過危機,而又感覺我仍被那奇怪之神所操縱,見不著那關係我平安的事。我愈達到聖靈無阻礙的得著我們的所在,在神之前愈是增加了我們的定罪,這真是可怕的事。 「如果你知道」──神直接的說出來,同時耶穌替我們流淚,這些話含有可以咎責的責任;神要我們為那看不見的事負責。「這事現在是隱藏的,叫你的眼看不出來」──因為心裡從沒有屈服。「機會失掉,追悔不及」。神從不開啟曾經關閉的門,祂開啟別的門,但是祂提醒我們,尚有無須關閉的門,而我們卻關閉了;有些想像不應染污的,而我們卻染污了。不要懼怕神指點已往的事,讓記憶進行它的歷程吧!它是神的使者,帶給我們的是糾正和憂傷。神將要「把失去的機會」,變成將來的機緣。

四月三日 「……因為我的盼望是從祂而來」詩篇六十二篇5節 當我們相信某種祝福會來臨,我們必須有充滿信心的態度,並且在行事禱告時都像我們已經得到了祝福。我們必須以神已經給了我們請求那樣待祂,全心相信祂必會賜給我們所求的,而且會不斷地賜給我們,這才是相信的態度。 當一個年輕女孩一結婚之後,她立刻就應有一種新的態度,而且依這新態度處事。同樣的道理,當我們接受基督做我們的救主、潔淨的主、醫治的主和再來的主,祂期待我們立刻有一種承認祂能行這些事的態度。所以,我們應該盼望祂能成為我們所相信依靠的神。 你可以把所有憂慮、重擔帶到祂面前, 你能在禱告中告訴祂你所有的需要, 你能在最黑暗的時刻依靠祂。 祂能照顧, 所以你不需擔心, 信心能到達最高處, 直到我們高唱勝利者感恩的凱歌。 在救恩榮耀的城中, 神已經告訴我們,讚美乃是城門的鑰匙。
