五月一日 「那無謊言的神……所應許的。」提多書一章2節 信心並不是運用意志的力量來說事情必將成功,乃是看準這個事實:神既說過這件事必將成功,這是實在的;於是就安息下去,因為神已經說過了。 信心能把應許變作預言,光是應許,還須我們這方面沒有攔阻,纔能實現。現在信心既然能把應許變作預言,我們就可以公開宣佈:某件事情必會成功,因為神不能說謊。 ─譯自屬天的日子 我在各處常聽見人禱告時,求神給他們更多的信心;但是當我仔細聽他們禱告的時候,我就發現他們所要的並不是更多的信心,乃是更多的眼見。 信心並不說:「我看這件事是對我有益的,所以神必定會給我成功的;」信心乃是說:「這件事是神成功的,所以必定是對我有益的。」 信心,在黑暗中與神同行的時候,只求一件事;求神緊緊握住它的手。 ─白羅克斯 基督要你祗信神, 不是信你自己的信, 所以祂說:「到我這裏來」。 無論順利或困難, 一心歸向天上的主, 尋求祂的旨意遵行。

May 1 "God that cannot lie promised." (Titus 1:2.) FAITH is not working up by will power a sort of certainty that something is coming to pass, but it is seeing as an actual fact that God has said that this thing shall come to pass, and that it is true, and then rejoicing to know that it is true, and just resting be cause God has said it. Faith turns the promise into a prophecy. While it is merely a promise it is contingent upon our cooperation. But when faith claims it, it becomes a prophecy, and we go forth feeling that it is something that must be done because God cannot lie. ─Days of Heaven upon Earth. I hear men praying everywhere for more faith, but when I listen to them carefully, and get at the real heart of their prayer, very often it is not more faith at all that they are wanting, but a change from faith to sight. Faith says not, "I see that it is good for me, so God must have sent it," but, "God sent it, and so it must be good for me." Faith, walking in the dark with God, only prays Him to clasp its hand more closely. ─Phillips Brooks. 五月一日 聖靈的賜給 「何況天父豈不更將聖靈賜給求祂的人。」路加福音十一章13節 一本有關禱告叢書的作者告訴我們:經過實際體驗,他學習更美禱告生活的秘訣,他很高興把他所得的幫助寫下來,當他浸沈於禱告時,有個帶著能力的思想來了,那就是——我們現今活在聖靈的時代!他說:「我深深地感覺到活在聖靈工作的時代,若不是聖靈所帶來的能力,則我們的工作只是微不足道!」這才使我清楚明白一節寶貴而且取之不盡的經文:「何況天父豈不更將聖靈賜給求祂的人。」 我有個新的感覺:主要我們每個人在日常生活中都接受父神賜下聖靈所給予的更新,否則我們無法討父神的喜悅,也不能真正的幫助我們的弟兄。藉著禱告使我們明白:假如有人要為神而活,他們必須要從能力的源頭——神自己——供應我們日常生活所要的能力。水流的高度不能超過源頭,同時聖靈藉著我們的禱告,就好像我們的禱告成了他人再度接觸他們的源頭─神,禱告也因著在我們和別人身上的聖工所成全,《我越來越相信》一書的作者說:「每位基督徒生活主要在於我們禱告的質,而不在量。」 我們在這裏何等深入思想恆切禱告的材料!當你每天向天父祈求,祂就將這天的新力量,就是將聖靈賜給你;祂是何等願意成全我們。 天父!現在就讓聖靈在我身上動工,使我可以恆切地禱告。

五月一日 是內明而非情感 「我們行事為人,是憑著信心,不是憑著眼見。」哥林多後書五章7節 我們起初覺得神特別注意我們,不過當神開始用我們在祂的事業裡的時候,我們就有一種不愉快的神情,談出艱難和困苦的問題來,以為神是時時刻刻的使我們做我們的本分,像無聲無臭的小百姓一樣。可是我們之中就沒有一個人肯在靈性方面寂寂無聞。神關閉天上的門,我們能做我們的本分嗎?我們中有些人老是想做具有金光輪,與大感力的人,又想與神的聖徒,(威然顯赫的聖徒)常相往來。一個鍍金的聖徒不見得好,是反常的,不適於日常生活的,完全不像神。我們是人,並不像半羽毛的天使,要做此世的工作,而且要不辭勞苦,用盡氣力的做,是為甚麼呢?是因為我們是從上頭生的。 如果我們力圖恢復那興奮而稀有的一傾,那就是表示我們所要的,不是神。當神來說話的時候,我們正在把那稀有的頃刻當魔力崇拜,並強祂再把那一頃刻喚回來。然而神要我們做的,是在信心中行走。我們中有多少人把自己擺在一旁,反而說:不到神向我顯現,我是不能再做甚麼。祂絕不如此,即使沒有神的感動,沒有忽然觸及神,我們也當振起精神來,然後才有那意想不到的覺悟來到:「祂常在這裡,但是我不知道哩!」切不可為那稀有的頃刻活著,它們是偶然而不常見的,當神知道我們不因那稀有的頃刻墮入危險的時候,祂就使我們與這種感動接觸,我們絕不要以那使我受到感動的頃刻為我們的標準;我們的本分是我們的標準。

五月一日 「聖靈所結的果子,就是……溫柔。」加拉太書五章22節 當冰冷的大地逐漸融化時,她立刻散放出美麗的笑靨,遍地一切都輕輕地述說神的溫柔。溫柔這個美麗的果子與這溫和的月份不僅和諧,而且是極美的旋律主調。願聖靈在這些日子中,帶領我們進入祂的聖潔、安靜和溫柔,使我們能征服每一個粗俗、無禮、殘酷和不聖潔的習慣。願祂使我們像祂一樣:「不爭競、不喧嚷,街上也沒有人聽見祂的聲音。」(太十二19) 一個真正充滿耶穌的人,必是一位溫柔的紳士;一個受過聖靈洗的女性,雖然出生卑微、未曾受過世上禮俗的教導,但卻會有完美淑女的天性。所以讓我們接受、反應出基督的溫柔,直到世人提到我們時,一定會說出契斯德福(Chesterfield)提到聖徒菲尼倫(Fenelon)所說的話:「如果我在他家再多待一天,我一定已經成為一個基督徒了。」 主啊!幫助我們今天就順服溫柔如同鴿子的聖靈,使我們的生命變成像您的生命。
