1:2 正如先知以賽亞〔有古卷沒有以賽亞三個字〕書上記著說:看哪,我要差遣我的使者在你前面,預備道路。 It is written in Isaiah the prophet:<<I will send my messenger ahead of you, who will prepare your way>> \f2 1:2 Mal. 3:1)-- 1:3 在曠野有人聲喊著說:預備主的道,修直他的路。 <<a voice of one calling in the desert, <Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him.> >> \f3 1:3 Isaiah 40:3) 1:4 照這話,約翰來了,在曠野施洗,傳悔改的洗禮,使罪得赦。 And so John came, baptizing in the desert region and preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins. 1:5 猶太全地和耶路撒冷的人都出去到約翰那裏,承認他們的罪,在約旦河裏受他的洗。 The whole Judean countryside and all the people of Jerusalem went out to him. Confessing their sins, they were baptized by him in the Jordan River. 1:6 約翰穿駱駝毛的衣服,腰束皮帶,吃的是蝗蟲、野蜜。 John wore clothing made of camel's hair, with a leather belt around his waist, and he ate locusts and wild honey. 1:7 他傳道說:「有一位在我以後來的,能力比我更大,我就是彎腰給他解鞋帶也是不配的。 And this was his message: <<After me will come one more powerful than I, the thongs of whose sandals I am not worthy to stoop down and untie. 1:8 我是用水給你們施洗,他卻要用聖靈給你們施洗。」 I baptize you with (\f4 1:8 Or|i in|d)water, but he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit.>> 1:9 那時,耶穌從加利利的拿撒勒來,在約旦河裏受了約翰的洗。 At that time Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan. 1:10 他從水裏一上來,就看見天裂開了,聖靈彷彿鴿子,降在他身上。 As Jesus was coming up out of the water, he saw heaven being torn open and the Spirit descending on him like a dove. 1:11 又有聲音從天上來,說:「你是我的愛子,我喜悅你。」 And a voice came from heaven: <<You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased.>> 1:12 聖靈就把耶穌催到曠野裏去。 At once the Spirit sent him out into the desert, 1:13 他在曠野四十天,受撒但的試探,並與野獸同在一處,且有天使來伺候他。 and he was in the desert forty days, being tempted by Satan. He was with the wild animals, and angels attended him. 1:14 約翰下監以後,耶穌來到加利利,宣傳 神的福音, After John was put in prison, Jesus went into Galilee, proclaiming the good news of God. 1:15 說:「日期滿了, 神的國近了。你們當悔改,信福音!」 <<The time has come,>> he said. <<The kingdom of God is near. Repent and believe the good news!>> 1:16 耶穌順著加利利的海邊走,看見西門和西門的兄弟安得烈在海邊撒網;他們本是打魚的。 As Jesus walked beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and his brother Andrew casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. 1:17 耶穌對他們說:「來跟從我,我要叫你們得人如得魚一樣。」 <<Come, follow me,>> Jesus said, <<and I will make you fishers of men.>> 1:18 他們就立刻捨了網,跟從了他。 At once they left their nets and followed him. 1:19 耶穌稍往前走,又見西庇太的兒子雅各和雅各的兄弟約翰在船上補網。 When he had gone a little farther, he saw James son of Zebedee and his brother John in a boat, preparing their nets. 1:20 耶穌隨即招呼他們,他們就把父親西庇太和雇工人留在船上,跟從耶穌去了。 Without delay he called them, and they left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired men and followed him. 1:21 到了迦百農,耶穌就在安息日進了會堂教訓人。 They went to Capernaum, and when the Sabbath came, Jesus went into the synagogue and began to teach. 1:22 眾人很希奇他的教訓;因為他教訓他們,正像有權柄的人,不像文士。 The people were amazed at his teaching, because he taught them as one who had authority, not as the teachers of the law. 1:23 在會堂裏,有一個人被污鬼附著。他喊叫說: Just then a man in their synagogue who was possessed by an evil (\f5 1:23 Greek|i unclean|d; also in verses 26 and 27)spirit cried out, 1:24 「拿撒勒人耶穌,我們與你有甚麼相干?你來滅我們嗎?我知道你是誰,乃是 神的聖者。」 <<What do you want with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are--the Holy One of God!>> 1:25 耶穌責備他說:「不要作聲!從這人身上出來吧。」 <<Be quiet!>> said Jesus sternly. <<Come out of him!>> 1:26 污鬼叫那人抽了一陣瘋,大聲喊叫,就出來了。 The evil spirit shook the man violently and came out of him with a shriek. 1:27 眾人都驚訝,以致彼此對問說:「這是甚麼事?是個新道理啊!他用權柄吩咐污鬼,連污鬼也聽從了他。」 The people were all so amazed that they asked each other, <<What is this? A new teaching--and with authority! He even gives orders to evil spirits and they obey him.>> 1:28 耶穌的名聲就傳遍了加利利的四方。 News about him spread quickly over the whole region of Galilee. 1:29 他們一出會堂,就同著雅各、約翰,進了西門和安得烈的家。 As soon as they left the synagogue, they went with James and John to the home of Simon and Andrew. 1:30 西門的岳母正害熱病躺著,就有人告訴耶穌。 Simon's mother-in-law was in bed with a fever, and they told Jesus about her. 1:31 耶穌進前拉著她的手,扶她起來,熱就退了,她就服事他們。 So he went to her, took her hand and helped her up. The fever left her and she began to wait on them. 1:32 天晚日落的時候,有人帶著一切害病的,和被鬼附的,來到耶穌跟前。 That evening after sunset the people brought to Jesus all the sick and demon-possessed. 1:33 合城的人都聚集在門前。 The whole town gathered at the door, 1:34 耶穌治好了許多害各樣病的人,又趕出許多鬼,不許鬼說話,因為鬼認識他。 and Jesus healed many who had various diseases. He also drove out many demons, but he would not let the demons speak because they knew who he was. 1:35 次日早晨,天未亮的時候,耶穌起來,到曠野地方去,在那裏禱告。 Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed. 1:36 西門和同伴追了他去, Simon and his companions went to look for him, 1:37 遇見了就對他說:「眾人都找你。」 and when they found him, they exclaimed: <<Everyone is looking for you!>> 1:38 耶穌對他們說:「我們可以往別處去,到鄰近的鄉村,我也好在那裏傳道,因為我是為這事出來的。」 Jesus replied, <<Let us go somewhere else--to the nearby villages--so I can preach there also. That is why I have come.>> 1:39 於是在加利利全地,進了會堂,傳道,趕鬼。 So he traveled throughout Galilee, preaching in their synagogues and driving out demons. 1:40 有一個長大痲瘋的來求耶穌,向他跪下,說:「你若肯,必能叫我潔淨了。」 A man with leprosy (\f6 1:40 The Greek word was used for various diseases affecting the skin--not necessarily leprosy.)came to him and begged him on his knees, <<If you are willing, you can make me clean.>> 1:41 耶穌動了慈心,就伸手摸他,說:「我肯,你潔淨了吧!」 Filled with compassion, Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. <<I am willing,>> he said. <<Be clean!>> 1:42 大痲瘋即時離開他,他就潔淨了。 Immediately the leprosy left him and he was cured. 1:43 耶穌嚴嚴的囑咐他,就打發他走, Jesus sent him away at once with a strong warning: 1:44 對他說:「你要謹慎,甚麼話都不可告訴人,只要去把身體給祭司察看,又因為你潔淨了,獻上摩西所吩咐的禮物,對眾人作證據。」 <<See that you don't tell this to anyone. But go, show yourself to the priest and offer the sacrifices that Moses commanded for your cleansing, as a testimony to them.>> 1:45 那人出去,倒說了許多的話,把這件事傳揚開了,叫耶穌以後不得再明明的進城,只好在外邊曠野地方。人從各處都就了他來。 Instead he went out and began to talk freely, spreading the news. As a result, Jesus could no longer enter a town openly but stayed outside in lonely places. 四月廿九日 「以利亞與我們是一樣性情的人。」雅各書五章17節 我們要為此感謝神,以利亞躺在羅騰樹下,訴苦埋怨,疑惑不信,真是我們的寫照。但當以利亞與神交通的時候,情況立刻轉變了。以利亞是與我們一樣性情的人,他卻禱告了又禱告,這是最重要的一點,不僅是懇切禱告,而是「他禱告了又禱告」。繼續不斷的禱告,我們從這一點教訓上應有所得著,因其關鍵所在,乃是必須繼續不斷的禱告。 以利亞上了迦密山頂,他領悟了「信心」和「眼見」之所以不同的偉大啟示。當時所需要的不是降下火來,而是降雨;能命令火的人可用同樣方法命令洪水。聖經告訴我們,他屈身在地,將臉伏在兩膝之中;使自己的視覺和聽覺與外界隔絕,一切不見不聞。 以利亞對他僕人說:「你上去觀看」。他去了回來,很簡單地報告道:「沒有什麼」。 我們若處於這種情形下將如何呢? 我們會說:「這是同我所料想的一樣」!於是放棄了禱告。可是以利亞是這樣嗎?不,他說:「再去看看」。他的僕人回來報告說:「沒有什麼」!「再去看」。「沒有什麼」。 後來,僕人回來報告道:「有手掌那麼大的一小片雲」。手掌大的一片雲在以利亞祈禱中升起,霎時間降下雨來;亞哈雖有快馬拉車,也來不及趕回撒瑪利亞的城門。這是信心之所以與眼見不同之處。信心把本身和外界隔絕,專心注目於神;眼見是憑觀察,甚麼也看不到;視覺雖帶來毫無希望的消息,信心則繼續堅持,「禱告了又禱告」。如何方能如此禱告而發生效力呢?讓視覺帶來任何失望的報告,都不要加以理會。永生的神總是在天上垂聽,即使遲延不答,也是出於祂的美意。 ─皮爾生 下面是三個孩子對信心所下的定義,可以說明信心堅強的程度。第一個孩子說:「信心是去握住基督」;第二個孩子說:「信心是抓牢基督」,第三個孩子說:「信心是絕不放鬆基督」。

April 29 "Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are."(James 5:17.) THANK God for that! He got under a juniper tree, as you and I have often done; he complained and murmured, as we have often done; was unbelieving, as we have often been. But that was not the case when he really got into touch with God. Though "a man subject to like passions as we are,""earnestly," but "he prayed in prayer." He kept on praying. What is the lesson here? You must keep praying. Come up on the top of Carmel, and see that remarkable parable of Faith and Sight. It was not the descent of the fire that now was necessary, but the descent of the flood' and the man that can command the fire can command the flood by the same means and methods. We are told that he bowed himself to the ground with his face between his knees; that is, shutting out all sights and sounds. He was putting himself in a position where, beneath his mantle, he could neither see nor hear what was going forward. He said to his servant, "Go and take an observation." He went and came back, and said─how sublimely brief! one word─"Nothing!" What do we do under such circumstances? We say, "It is just as I expected!" and we give up praying. Did Elijah? No, he said, "Go again." His servant again came back and said, "Nothing!" "Go again." "Nothing!" By and by he came back, and said, "There is a little cloud like a man's hand." A man's hand had been raised in supplication, and presently down came the rain; and Ahab had not time to get back to the gate of Samaria with all his fast steeds. This is a parable of Faith and Sight─faith shutting itself up with God; sight taking observations and seeing nothing; faith going right on, and "praying in prayer," with utterly hopeless reports from sight. Do you know how to pray that way, how to pray prevailingly? Let sight give as discouraging reports as it may, but pay no attention to these. The living God is still in the heavens and even to delay is part of His goodness. ─Arthur T. Pierson. Each of three boys gave a definition of faith which is an illustration of the tenacity of faith. The first boy said, "It is taking hold of Christ"; the second, "Keeping hold"; and the third, "Not letting go."

四月廿九日 不犯罪 「你們知道主曾顯現,是要除掉人的罪;在祂並沒有罪。凡住在祂裏面的,就不犯罪。」約翰一書三章5、6節 約翰把基督最後一晚所講到住在祂裏面的話,深刻在他心中,並在他的生命裏。他一直記得主有六次之多,說到愛祂並遵守祂的命令,乃是住在祂的愛裏,並接受父和祂兒子內住的途徑。所以在約翰老年時所寫的書信中,住在基督裏,就成了得著所應許之生活的鑰節。(約壹二6,24,28;三6,24;四13,16) 在我們所引的經文中,約翰教訓我們如何能蒙保守脫離罪:「凡住在祂裏面的,就不犯罪。」雖然我們的天性是有罪的,但我們若住在那位無罪的基督裏,就被釋放脫離罪的能力,並使我們一天過一天活著討神的喜悅。聖經記載主耶穌題到父時,這樣說「我常作祂所喜悅的事。」(約八29)所以約翰在書信中這樣寫:「親愛的弟兄啊,我們的心若不責備我們,就可以向神坦白無懼了,並且我們一切所求的就從他得著;因為我們遵守祂的命令,行祂所喜悅的事。」(約壹三22、23) 但願凡渴慕要得著自由,脫離罪惡權勢的人,都來接受這些簡單而意義深遠的話:「在祂並沒有罪。」(約壹三5)「我得以在祂裏面,是本乎神。」(參林前一30)「那在基督裏堅固我們的,就是神。」(林後一21)當我們尋求要住在那位沒有罪的主裏面時,基督就要在聖靈的大能裏,在我裏面實在活出祂自己的生命,並使我能過一種在凡事上討祂喜悅的生活。 親愛的神的兒女啊,你是被神呼召來過一種生活,在那生活裏,你的盼望就是對這位全能的神的信心。這是偉大的信心、堅強的信心、持續的信心。當你天天花時間將自己降服於那位平安的神,也就是在各樣善事上成全你,叫你遵行祂的旨意的神時,你就會經歷到:你心中所未曾想到的事,正是神所要作在那些等候祂的人裏面的。 「凡住在祂裏面的,就不犯罪。」這應許是確實的:全能的神保證說,祂要在你裏面,藉著基督耶穌行祂所喜悅的事。要在這樣的信心裏住在祂裏面。 「凡住在祂裏面的,就不犯罪。」「我不是對你說,你若信,就必看見神的榮耀麼?」(約十一40)

四月廿九日 不預知是一種幸福 「我們……將來如何,還未顯明。」約翰一書三章2節 自然,我們老是希求事前知道,以不能預先知道為一件不幸的事。我們以為我們必要達到某種一定的目標,但那不是屬靈的生命的本性。誰知屬靈的生命的本性,就是我們在不穩定裡面有所確知。若然,我們不必求一個固定的歸宿。常識說:「我如果在那個景況裡……」我們不能設想,我們所未經過的任何光景。 希求預先知道是常識生活的標記,在未全知中,而能放下心來,是靈性生活的標記。確信神,意思是我們在一切的途徑上,不必要求預先知道。我們不知道這一天有甚麼事發生,這實在是一種可喜的情況,但大多數人都以為是可歎息的。我們不一定知道我們舉手投足之後的結果如何,但是應該知道神是可靠的,是穩定的。我們順從神,努力當前的本分,祂準定使我們的生命緊張有趣。倘使我們成了某條信條的遵守者,我們在靈性上就死了;我們再不能稱為是信神者,僅能說,是相信對於神的信條。耶穌說:「你們若不變成像小孩子……」靈性生活是小孩子的生活。我們不是抓不住神,卻是不必預知祂將要做的事,如果我們只抓住我們的信條,我們就會自重嚴肅起來,而且有了定見;但當我們與神發生正當關係的時候,生命就充滿了伸縮性而在不預知中有快樂和期望。 耶穌沒有說:「要信那些關於我的事,乃是信我」。將這一切的事託付祂,不管祂將要來到的榮耀如何,祂是定然要來的,永遠忠誠於祂吧!

四月廿九日 「我卻不以性命為念……只要行完我的路程,成就我從主耶穌所領受的職事……。」使徒行傳廿章24節 這個完成我們個人職事的觀念可說是最嚴肅的一個,因為在基督的生命中,沒有比未完成的事工更叫人悲哀的。 當我回顧神的事工時,我可以看到很多人所未完成的職事。士師記告訴我們,因為神的子民在進迦南地時,沒有完成他們的工作,結果以色列民族有五百年的衰微歷史。雖然他們戰勝耶利哥城,打敗了卅一個王國、把地分給十二支派的族人,但是卻在各處留下不少尚未佔領的要塞,以及許多未逐之族。結果不久後,這些未逐之族竟征服了以色列、使約書亞所得之地全部被奪回。 讓我們看看以利亞的事工,他在迦密山上的勝利可說是世人最驚訝的成就,但是沒有人不對他勝利後第二天的表現感到傷心。耶洗別只稍微地動了動她的手指,以利亞就逃到曠野去,讓神的敵人奪取到他們所計劃的範圍。 事工光是持續一段短時間是不夠的,因為得勝在乎最後一步。願神將保羅行完其路程的觀念放在我們心中,如他所說:只要行完我的路程,成就我從主耶穌所領受的職事,證明神恩惠的福音。
