The word of the LORD that came to Micah of Moresheth during the reigns of Jotham, Ahaz and Hezekiah, kings of Judah--the vision he saw concerning Samaria and Jerusalem.
Hear, O peoples, all of you, listen, O earth and all who are in it, that the Sovereign LORD may witness against you, the Lord from his holy temple. Look! The LORD is coming from his dwelling place; he comes down and treads the high places of the earth. The mountains melt beneath him and the valleys split apart, like wax before the fire, like water rushing down a slope. All this is because of Jacob's transgression, because of the sins of the house of Israel. What is Jacob's transgression? Is it not Samaria? What is Judah's high place? Is it not Jerusalem? <<Therefore I will make Samaria a heap of rubble, a place for planting vineyards. I will pour her stones into the valley and lay bare her foundations. All her idols will be broken to pieces; all her temple gifts will be burned with fire; I will destroy all her images. Since she gathered her gifts from the wages of prostitutes, as the wages of prostitutes they will again be used.>> 1:8 先知說:因此我必大聲哀號,赤腳露體而行;又要呼號如野狗,哀鳴如鴕鳥。 Because of this I will weep and wail; I will go about barefoot and naked. I will howl like a jackal and moan like an owl. For her wound is incurable; it has come to Judah. It 1:9 Or ((He)) has reached the very gate of my people, even to Jerusalem itself. Tell it not in Gath; 1:10 ((Gath)) sounds like the Hebrew for ((tell.)) weep not at all. 1:10 Hebrew; Septuagint may suggest ((not in Acco.)) The Hebrew for ((in Acco)) sounds like the Hebrew for ((weep.)) In Beth Ophrah 1:10 ((Beth Ophrah)) means ((house of dust.)) roll in the dust. Pass on in nakedness and shame, you who live in Shaphir. 1:11 ((Shaphir)) means ((pleasant.)) Those who live in Zaanan 1:11 ((Zaanan)) sounds like the Hebrew for ((come out.)) will not come out. Beth Ezel is in mourning; its protection is taken from you. Those who live in Maroth 1:12 ((Maroth)) sounds like the Hebrew for ((bitter.)) writhe in pain, waiting for relief, because disaster has come from the LORD, even to the gate of Jerusalem. You who live in Lachish, 1:13 ((Lachish)) sounds like the Hebrew for ((team.)) harness the team to the chariot. You were the beginning of sin to the Daughter of Zion, for the transgressions of Israel were found in you. Therefore you will give parting gifts to Moresheth Gath. The town of Aczib 1:14 ((Aczib)) means ((deception.)) will prove deceptive to the kings of Israel. I will bring a conqueror against you who live in Mareshah. 1:15 ((Mareshah)) sounds like the Hebrew for ((conqueror.)) He who is the glory of Israel will come to Adullam. Shave your heads in mourning for the children in whom you delight; make yourselves as bald as the vulture, for they will go from you into exile.

January 29 "....God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early."(Psa. 46:5.) SHALL not be moved"─what an inspiring declaration! Can it be possible that we, who are so easily moved by the things of earth, can arrive at a place where nothing can upset us or disturb our calm? Yes, it is possible; and the Apostle Paul knew it. When he ws on his way to Jerusalem where he foresaw that "bonds and afflictions" awaited him, he could say triumphantly, "But none of these things move me."Everything in Paul's life and experience that could be shaken had been shaken, and he no longer counted his life, or any of life's possessions, dear to him. And we, if we will but let God have His way with us, may come to the same place, so that neither the fret and tear of little things of life, nor the great and heavy trials, can have power to move us from the peace that passeth understanding, which is declared to be the portion of those who have learned to rest only on God. "Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God; and he shall go no more out." To be as immovable as a pillar in the house of our God, is an end for which one would gladly endure all the shakings that may be necessary to bring us there! ─Hannah Whitall Smith. When God is in the midst of a kingdom or city He makes it as firm as Mount Zion, that cannot be removed. When He is in the midst of a soul, though calamities throng about it on all hands, and roar like the billows of the sea, yet there is a constant calm within, such a peace as the world can neither give nor take away. What is it but want of lodging God in the soul, and that in His stead the world is in men's hearts, that makes them shake like leaves at every blast of danger? ─Archbishop Leighton. "They that trust in the Lord shall be as Mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abideth forever." There is a quaint old Scottish version that puts iron into our blood: "Who sticketh to God in stable trust As Zion's mount he stands full just, Which moveth no whit, nor yet doth reel, But standeth forever as stiff as steel!"
