1:1 先前滿有人民的城，現在何竟獨坐！先前在列國中為大的，現在竟如寡婦；先前在諸省中為王后的，現在成為進貢的。 How deserted lies the city, once so full of people! How like a widow is she, who once was great among the nations! She who was queen among the provinces has now become a slave.
1:2 她夜間痛哭，淚流滿；在一切所親愛的中間沒有一個安慰她的。她的朋友都以詭詐待她，成為她的仇敵。 Bitterly she weeps at night, tears are upon her cheeks. Among all her lovers there is none to comfort her. All her friends have betrayed her; they have become her enemies. 1:3 猶大因遭遇苦難，又因多服勞苦就遷到外邦。她住在列國中，尋不著安息；追逼她的都在狹窄之地將她追上。 After affliction and harsh labor, Judah has gone into exile. She dwells among the nations; she finds no resting place. All who pursue her have overtaken her in the midst of her distress. 1:4 錫安的路徑因無人來守聖節就悲傷；她的城門淒涼；她的祭司歎息；她的處女受艱難，自己也愁苦。 The roads to Zion mourn, for no one comes to her appointed feasts. All her gateways are desolate, her priests groan, her maidens grieve, and she is in bitter anguish. 1:5 她的敵人為首；她的仇敵亨通；因耶和華為她許多的罪過使她受苦；她的孩童被敵人擄去。 Her foes have become her masters; her enemies are at ease. The LORD has brought her grief because of her many sins. Her children have gone into exile, captive before the foe. 1:6 錫安城〔原文是女子；下同〕的威榮全都失去。她的首領像找不著草場的鹿；在追趕的人前無力行走。 All the splendor has departed from the Daughter of Zion. Her princes are like deer that find no pasture; in weakness they have fled before the pursuer. 1:7 耶路撒冷在困苦窘迫之時，就追想古時一切的樂境。她百姓落在敵人手中，無人救濟；敵人看見，就因她的荒涼嗤笑。 In the days of her affliction and wandering Jerusalem remembers all the treasures that were hers in days of old. When her people fell into enemy hands, there was no one to help her. Her enemies looked at her and laughed at her destruction. 1:8 耶路撒冷大大犯罪，所以成為不潔之物；素來尊敬她的，見她赤露就都藐視她；她自己也歎息退後。 Jerusalem has sinned greatly and so has become unclean. All who honored her despise her, for they have seen her nakedness; she herself groans and turns away. 1:9 她的污穢是在衣襟上；她不思想自己的結局，所以非常地敗落，無人安慰她。她說：耶和華啊，求你看我的苦難，因為仇敵誇大。 Her filthiness clung to her skirts; she did not consider her future. Her fall was astounding; there was none to comfort her. <<Look, O LORD, on my affliction, for the enemy has triumphed.>> 1:10 敵人伸手，奪取她的美物；她眼見外邦人進入她的聖所─論這外邦人，你曾吩咐不可入你的會中。 The enemy laid hands on all her treasures; she saw pagan nations enter her sanctuary-- those you had forbidden to enter your assembly. 1:11 她的民都歎息，尋求食物；他們用美物換糧食，要救性命。他們說：耶和華啊，求你觀看，因為我甚是卑賤。 All her people groan as they search for bread; they barter their treasures for food to keep themselves alive. <<Look, O LORD, and consider, for I am despised.>> 1:12 你們一切過路的人哪，這事你們不介意嗎？你們要觀看：有像這臨到我的痛苦沒有─就是耶和華在他發烈怒的日子使我所受的苦？ <<Is it nothing to you, all you who pass by? Look around and see. Is any suffering like my suffering that was inflicted on me, that the LORD brought on me in the day of his fierce anger? 1:13 他從高天使火進入我的骨頭，剋制了我；他鋪下網羅，絆我的腳，使我轉回；他使我終日淒涼發昏。 <<From on high he sent fire, sent it down into my bones. He spread a net for my feet and turned me back. He made me desolate, faint all the day long. 1:14 我罪過的軛是他手所綁的，猶如軛繩縛在我頸項上；他使我的力量衰敗。主將我交在我所不能敵擋的人手中。 <<My sins have been bound into a yoke; 1:14 Most Hebrew manuscripts; Septuagint ((He kept watch over my sins)) by his hands they were woven together. They have come upon my neck and the Lord has sapped my strength. He has handed me over to those I cannot withstand. 1:15 主輕棄我中間的一切勇士，招聚多人〔原文是大會〕攻擊我，要壓碎我的少年人。主將猶大居民踹下，像在酒醡中一樣。 <<The Lord has rejected all the warriors in my midst; he has summoned an army against me to 1:15 Or ((has set a time for me / when he will)) crush my young men. In his winepress the Lord has trampled the Virgin Daughter of Judah. 1:16 我因這些事哭泣；我眼淚汪汪；因為那當安慰我、救我性命的，離我甚遠。我的兒女孤苦，因為仇敵得了勝。 <<This is why I weep and my eyes overflow with tears. No one is near to comfort me, no one to restore my spirit. My children are destitute because the enemy has prevailed.>> 1:17 錫安舉手，無人安慰。耶和華論雅各已經出令，使四圍的人作他仇敵；耶路撒冷在他們中間像不潔之物。 Zion stretches out her hands, but there is no one to comfort her. The LORD has decreed for Jacob that his neighbors become his foes; Jerusalem has become an unclean thing among them. 1:18 耶和華是公義的！他這樣待我，是因我違背他的命令。眾民哪，請聽我的話，看我的痛苦；我的處女和少年人都被擄去。 <<The LORD is righteous, yet I rebelled against his command. Listen, all you peoples; look upon my suffering. My young men and maidens have gone into exile. 1:19 我招呼我所親愛的，他們卻愚弄我。我的祭司和長老正尋求食物、救性命的時候，就在城中絕氣。 <<I called to my allies but they betrayed me. My priests and my elders perished in the city while they searched for food to keep themselves alive. 1:20 耶和華啊，求你觀看，因為我在急難中。我心腸擾亂；我心在我裏面翻轉，因我大大悖逆。在外，刀劍使人喪子；在家，猶如死亡。 <<See, O LORD, how distressed I am! I am in torment within, and in my heart I am disturbed, for I have been most rebellious. Outside, the sword bereaves; inside, there is only death. 1:21 聽見我歎息的有人；安慰我的卻無人！我的仇敵都聽見我所遭的患難；因你做這事，他們都喜樂。你必使你報告的日子來到，他們就像我一樣。 <<People have heard my groaning, but there is no one to comfort me. All my enemies have heard of my distress; they rejoice at what you have done. May you bring the day you have announced so they may become like me. 1:22 願他們的惡行都呈在你面前；你怎樣因我的一切罪過待我，求你照樣待他們；因我歎息甚多，心中發昏。 <<Let all their wickedness come before you; deal with them as you have dealt with me because of all my sins. 五月廿三日 整天─每天 「我要天天稱頌您。」詩篇一四五篇2節 立志每天在神的話語中與神交通，是基督徒前進的動力，他熱誠堅毅地實行，會給他帶來成功的冠冕，他的經驗有幾分是這樣： 早晨醒來他首先想到神，他必須花點兒時間禱告，也給神時間成全他的祈求並啟示祂自己，並且把自己的要求呈明在神面前，期望祂的回答。 在一天當中，他隨時抽出幾分鐘保持與神交通；到了晚上安靜的時間，他反省一天的工作，憑著神赦罪的應許，承認他所犯的過錯，並重新將自己獻給神和祂的事工。 這樣，他漸漸就明白他的生命到底缺少什麼，並且也說：不單「每天」而且「整天」，他要求聖靈如呼吸般不停地運行；在內室中，他的目標是整天憑信心支取聖靈，及主耶穌和父神的同在，並幫助他所做的一切。 一整天！基督徒，聖靈要求：「今天」「現在是接受的時間！」如果一位接受很痛苦手術的病人問醫生說：「我何時可以起床？」回答是：「某日某時。」這是基督徒生活的律，神每天賜下嗎哪，在早晚獻祭——藉此神使祂的兒女渡過一天的生活。今天尋求聖靈引導你一天的生活，不需要為明天憂慮；但你可確信聖靈明天亦可帶領你渡過，正如今天一樣。

五月廿三日 沒有信心的憂慮 「不要為生命憂慮，吃甚麼，喝甚麼，為身體憂慮，穿甚麼。」馬太福音六章25節 一個門徒憑著常識去憂慮，耶穌把它看為不信的表現。如果我們領受了神的靈，祂必上前來，說：「神對於這種關係，這種劃定的假期，這些新書，有甚麼關係呢」？不到我們學會了先求祂的旨意，祂總得注意這一點。無論何時我們把別的事情放在最前面，那就免不了混亂的狀況。 「不要憂慮……」──不要靠自己的憂慮。憂慮，不但是不對，而且是不信，因為憂慮是表示我們不以神能看顧我們生活的實際需要；叫我們憂慮的，也就是這，絕不是別的事。你曾留心耶穌說，把道擠住的是甚麼？是惡魔麼？不是，是世上的憂慮。而且總是小小的憂慮。我不能見到的，我不信，那就是不信的起點。不信的唯一救法，就是順服聖靈的引導。 耶穌向門徒所說的最重要的話，是放棄一切，順從祂。

五月廿三日 「我也曉得去的時候，必帶著基督豐盛的恩典去。」羅馬書十五章29節 許多基督徒想得到一切的祝福，卻不以基督為中心。他們想得到救恩的祝福，但那並非基督本身；他們想得到祂恩典的幫助，然而基督的恩典也不是基督；他們甚至為了要能事奉祂，而盼望禱告有答覆。可是他們就算擁有那一切，也可能沒有基督本身這個祝福。 還有不少人想得到喜樂的祝福，這仍然不是得著基督的祝福；也有人與教會、牧師或弟兄姊妹非常親近，但內心也未必擁有基督。在一切事情都失敗時，真正能填滿我們裡面的，乃是與我們合而為一的耶穌的愛。當一切都凋萎、耗盡之後，耶穌基督自己仍然是我們全部祝福的來源，祂不僅是忠實的，而且是永恆的。
