1:1 先前滿有人民的城，現在何竟獨坐！先前在列國中為大的，現在竟如寡婦；先前在諸省中為王后的，現在成為進貢的。 How deserted lies the city, once so full of people! How like a widow is she, who once was great among the nations! She who was queen among the provinces has now become a slave.
1:2 她夜間痛哭，淚流滿；在一切所親愛的中間沒有一個安慰她的。她的朋友都以詭詐待她，成為她的仇敵。 Bitterly she weeps at night, tears are upon her cheeks. Among all her lovers there is none to comfort her. All her friends have betrayed her; they have become her enemies. 1:3 猶大因遭遇苦難，又因多服勞苦就遷到外邦。她住在列國中，尋不著安息；追逼她的都在狹窄之地將她追上。 After affliction and harsh labor, Judah has gone into exile. She dwells among the nations; she finds no resting place. All who pursue her have overtaken her in the midst of her distress. 1:4 錫安的路徑因無人來守聖節就悲傷；她的城門淒涼；她的祭司歎息；她的處女受艱難，自己也愁苦。 The roads to Zion mourn, for no one comes to her appointed feasts. All her gateways are desolate, her priests groan, her maidens grieve, and she is in bitter anguish. 1:5 她的敵人為首；她的仇敵亨通；因耶和華為她許多的罪過使她受苦；她的孩童被敵人擄去。 Her foes have become her masters; her enemies are at ease. The LORD has brought her grief because of her many sins. Her children have gone into exile, captive before the foe. 1:6 錫安城〔原文是女子；下同〕的威榮全都失去。她的首領像找不著草場的鹿；在追趕的人前無力行走。 All the splendor has departed from the Daughter of Zion. Her princes are like deer that find no pasture; in weakness they have fled before the pursuer. 1:7 耶路撒冷在困苦窘迫之時，就追想古時一切的樂境。她百姓落在敵人手中，無人救濟；敵人看見，就因她的荒涼嗤笑。 In the days of her affliction and wandering Jerusalem remembers all the treasures that were hers in days of old. When her people fell into enemy hands, there was no one to help her. Her enemies looked at her and laughed at her destruction. 1:8 耶路撒冷大大犯罪，所以成為不潔之物；素來尊敬她的，見她赤露就都藐視她；她自己也歎息退後。 Jerusalem has sinned greatly and so has become unclean. All who honored her despise her, for they have seen her nakedness; she herself groans and turns away. 1:9 她的污穢是在衣襟上；她不思想自己的結局，所以非常地敗落，無人安慰她。她說：耶和華啊，求你看我的苦難，因為仇敵誇大。 Her filthiness clung to her skirts; she did not consider her future. Her fall was astounding; there was none to comfort her. <<Look, O LORD, on my affliction, for the enemy has triumphed.>> 1:10 敵人伸手，奪取她的美物；她眼見外邦人進入她的聖所─論這外邦人，你曾吩咐不可入你的會中。 The enemy laid hands on all her treasures; she saw pagan nations enter her sanctuary-- those you had forbidden to enter your assembly. 1:11 她的民都歎息，尋求食物；他們用美物換糧食，要救性命。他們說：耶和華啊，求你觀看，因為我甚是卑賤。 All her people groan as they search for bread; they barter their treasures for food to keep themselves alive. <<Look, O LORD, and consider, for I am despised.>> 1:12 你們一切過路的人哪，這事你們不介意嗎？你們要觀看：有像這臨到我的痛苦沒有─就是耶和華在他發烈怒的日子使我所受的苦？ <<Is it nothing to you, all you who pass by? Look around and see. Is any suffering like my suffering that was inflicted on me, that the LORD brought on me in the day of his fierce anger? 1:13 他從高天使火進入我的骨頭，剋制了我；他鋪下網羅，絆我的腳，使我轉回；他使我終日淒涼發昏。 <<From on high he sent fire, sent it down into my bones. He spread a net for my feet and turned me back. He made me desolate, faint all the day long. 1:14 我罪過的軛是他手所綁的，猶如軛繩縛在我頸項上；他使我的力量衰敗。主將我交在我所不能敵擋的人手中。 <<My sins have been bound into a yoke; 1:14 Most Hebrew manuscripts; Septuagint ((He kept watch over my sins)) by his hands they were woven together. He has handed me over to those I cannot withstand. 1:15 主輕棄我中間的一切勇士，招聚多人〔原文是大會〕攻擊我，要壓碎我的少年人。主將猶大居民踹下，像在酒醡中一樣。 <<The Lord has rejected all the warriors in my midst; he has summoned an army against me to 1:15 Or ((has set a time for me / when he will)) crush my young men. In his winepress the Lord has trampled the Virgin Daughter of Judah. 1:16 我因這些事哭泣；我眼淚汪汪；因為那當安慰我、救我性命的，離我甚遠。我的兒女孤苦，因為仇敵得了勝。 <<This is why I weep and my eyes overflow with tears. No one is near to comfort me, no one to restore my spirit. My children are destitute because the enemy has prevailed.>> 1:17 錫安舉手，無人安慰。耶和華論雅各已經出令，使四圍的人作他仇敵；耶路撒冷在他們中間像不潔之物。 Zion stretches out her hands, but there is no one to comfort her. The LORD has decreed for Jacob that his neighbors become his foes; Jerusalem has become an unclean thing among them. 1:18 耶和華是公義的！他這樣待我，是因我違背他的命令。眾民哪，請聽我的話，看我的痛苦；我的處女和少年人都被擄去。 <<The LORD is righteous, yet I rebelled against his command. Listen, all you peoples; look upon my suffering. My young men and maidens have gone into exile. 1:19 我招呼我所親愛的，他們卻愚弄我。我的祭司和長老正尋求食物、救性命的時候，就在城中絕氣。 <<I called to my allies but they betrayed me. My priests and my elders perished in the city while they searched for food to keep themselves alive. 1:20 耶和華啊，求你觀看，因為我在急難中。我心腸擾亂；我心在我裏面翻轉，因我大大悖逆。在外，刀劍使人喪子；在家，猶如死亡。 <<See, O LORD, how distressed I am! I am in torment within, and in my heart I am disturbed, for I have been most rebellious. Outside, the sword bereaves; inside, there is only death. 1:21 聽見我歎息的有人；安慰我的卻無人！我的仇敵都聽見我所遭的患難；因你做這事，他們都喜樂。你必使你報告的日子來到，他們就像我一樣。 <<People have heard my groaning, but there is no one to comfort me. All my enemies have heard of my distress; they rejoice at what you have done. Only God Himself, who always works without strain, and who never overworks, can do the work that He assigns to His children. When they restfully trust Him to do it, it will be well done and completely done. The way to let Him to His work through us is to partake of Christ so fully, by faith, that He more than fills our life. A man who had learned this secret once said: "I came to Jesus and I drank, and I do not think that I shall ever be thirsty again. I have taken for my motto, `Not overwork, but overflow;' and already it has made all the difference in my life." There is no effort in overflow. It is quietly irresistible. It is the normal life of omnipotent and ceaseless accomplishment into which Christ invites us today and always. ─Sunday School Times. 九月三日 不住代求 「所有的聖道，都必須把人類的靈和造物主的靈聯合在一起，使他們有關連有交通，自然地與神合而為一，有同一個生命、亮光和慈愛，神聖直接的啟示和神聖道自然無法分開。」 「所有天然未受啟示的人，根本無法以神聖的能力和誠實在自己工作場所發生敬拜；天然的人只能自愛、自重、自己摸索，一切都以自己為活，沒有任何受造之物能超脫此種範疇，除非有超自然的幫助——就是神的道或靈或者神的啟示，才能使人得到神所賜良善的根源，與渴慕屬天能力的心。」 「沒有人可用自己的愛接獨神並和祂交通，但若被啟示以神自己存到永遠的愛就不同了；無限屬天新造的人開始一點也無法愛神，但不久聖靈所賜的愛使他能愛神。」「只有聖靈所賜永遠的愛，能使我們與神有分不開的關係，並能敬拜祂；所以聖靈不住的啟示是唯一使我們經常在神裏活的方法。」 讓我們思想禱告，直到我們心中開始體驗這種有福的真理——經常有神直接的啟示。只有我們遵行神的旨意，我們才有權彰顯良善的能力，如此我們才可初嘗渴想聖靈所真正以神的愛，整天來充滿我們。

九月三日 分佈滿足的水 「他卻不肯喝，將水奠在耶和華面前。」撒母耳記下廿三章16節 伯利恆的井水近來對於你像甚麼呢？──是愛？是友誼？是聖靈的福氣？如果你取來滿足自己，必危及你的心靈，如果你這樣，你就不能將它奠在耶和華面前，你欲滿足自己，就不能獻給神。如果你將神的福氣滿足自己；就是敗壞自己。你必得犧牲它，傾出來。理性以為這是一種浪費，不要受理智的指揮，當照著行的為是。 我是怎樣能將自然的愛，或靈性的福氣，奠在耶和華面前呢？只有一法──決心流出來。有時別人稱讚你，如果你未認清神，就不應接受別人的這種行動。何以呢？這不是你自己的能力所能做到的。但是我們必得抱著自謙的態度說──「這太偉大了，不是我所配做的，全然不是人所做到的，我必將它奠在耶和華面前；」這便是流出活水的江河來。我如果不將這些事奠在耶和華面前，不但危及我的自身，而且危及我所愛的那些人，因為我還有自私的慾念而接受他人的讚許。我們在不卑鄙不惡劣的事上也能生出貪戀的心，愛必要達到變形的地步，才能奠在耶和華面前。 如果你變成悲苦辛酸，就是因為你將神所賜與你的福氣緊握不捨；如果你將它奠在主的面前，你必是天堂以外最好的人，你如果總是保守自己的福氣，從不肯奠在神面前，則別人的眼界，絕不能因著你而得到擴展。

九月三日 「以色列的神從以色列會中將你們分別出來……」民數記十六章9節 一株小小的植物可能從一堆雜草中長出來，被骯髒的泥土包圍著，被微風中的灰塵遮蓋著；但是它白色的根卻與污泥分開，它的葉子、花朵也與蓋在其上的泥土沒有關係。當夏日的陣雨之後，雨將葉子及花上的灰塵沖刷得乾乾淨淨，使得這株小植物看起來既清新又乾淨。很明顯地，這株植物的本質，是不可能與那些混雜的事物有關。 這樣的分別，乃是基督所要求並給予的。如果我們心裡老想著去電影院，那麼即使腳步未進也是徒然；如果我時常想看黃色小說或喝酒，那麼就算我不做也沒有價值。一則我的心仍然思想著那些事，再則我的魂也因想做這些污穢的事而被玷污了。所以污染我的不是世界，乃是我貪戀世界的心。一個真正的利未人乃是被神分別出來，不再愛慕世間的事情；而且即使他去做那些俗事，他也不會感受到其他人所珍惜但被禁止的樂趣。
