1:1 烏斯地有一個人名叫約伯；那人完全正直，敬畏 神，遠離惡事。 In the land of Uz there lived a man whose name was Job. This man was blameless and upright; he feared God and shunned evil.
1:2 他生了七個兒子，三個女兒。 He had seven sons and three daughters, 1:3 他的家產有七千羊，三千駱駝，五百對牛，五百母驢，並有許多僕婢。這人在東方人中就為至大。 and he owned seven thousand sheep, three thousand camels, five hundred yoke of oxen and five hundred donkeys, and had a large number of servants. He was the greatest man among all the people of the East. 1:4 他的兒子按著日子各在自己家裏設擺筵宴，就打發人去，請了他們的三個姊妹來，與他們一同吃喝。 His sons used to take turns holding feasts in their homes, and they would invite their three sisters to eat and drink with them. 1:5 筵宴的日子過了，約伯打發人去叫他們自潔。他清早起來，按著他們眾人的數目獻燔祭；因為他說：「恐怕我兒子犯了罪，心中棄掉 神。」約伯常常這樣行。 When a period of feasting had run its course, Job would send and have them purified. Early in the morning he would sacrifice a burnt offering for each of them, thinking, <<Perhaps my children have sinned and cursed God in their hearts.>> This was Job's regular custom. 1:6 有一天， 神的眾子來侍立在耶和華面前，撒但也來在其中。 One day the angels 1:6 Hebrew ((the sons of God)) came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan 1:6 ((Satan)) means ((accuser.)) also came with them. 1:7 耶和華問撒但說：「你從哪裏來？」撒但回答說：「我從地上走來走去，往返而來。」 The LORD said to Satan, <<Where have you come from?>> Satan answered the LORD, <<From roaming through the earth and going back and forth in it.>> 1:8 耶和華問撒但說：「你曾用心察看我的僕人約伯沒有？地上再沒有人像他完全正直，敬畏 神，遠離惡事。」 Then the LORD said to Satan, <<Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil.>> 1:9 撒但回答耶和華說：「約伯敬畏 神，豈是無故呢？ <<Does Job fear God for nothing?>> Satan replied. 1:10 他的妻子對他說：「你仍然持守你的純正嗎？你棄掉 神，死了吧！」 <<Have you not put a hedge around him and his household and everything he has? You have blessed the work of his hands, so that his flocks and herds are spread throughout the land. 1:11 你豈不是四面圈上籬笆圍護他和他的家，並他一切所有的嗎？他手所做的都蒙你賜福；他的家產也在地上增多。 But stretch out your hand and strike everything he has, and he will surely curse you to your face.>> 1:12 你且伸手毀他一切所有的；他必當面棄掉你。」 The LORD said to Satan, <<Very well, then, everything he has is in your hands, but on the man himself do not lay a finger.>> Then Satan went out from the presence of the LORD. 1:13 耶和華對撒但說：「凡他所有的都在你手中；只是不可伸手加害於他。」於是撒但從耶和華面前退去。 One day when Job's sons and daughters were feasting and drinking wine at the oldest brother's house, 1:14 有一天，約伯的兒女正在他們長兄的家裏吃飯喝酒， a messenger came to Job and said, <<The oxen were plowing and the donkeys were grazing nearby, 1:15 有報信的來見約伯，說：「牛正耕地，驢在旁邊吃草， and the Sabeans attacked and carried them off. They put the servants to the sword, and I am the only one who has escaped to tell you!>> 1:16 示巴人忽然闖來，把牲畜擄去，並用刀殺了僕人；惟有我一人逃脫，來報信給你。」 While he was still speaking, another messenger came and said, <<The fire of God fell from the sky and burned up the sheep and the servants, and I am the only one who has escaped to tell you!>> 1:17 他還說話的時候，又有人來說：「 神從天上降下火來，將群羊和僕人都燒滅了；惟有我一人逃脫，來報信給你。」 While he was still speaking, another messenger came and said, <<The Chaldeans formed three raiding parties and swept down on your camels and carried them off. They put the servants to the sword, and I am the only one who has escaped to tell you!>> 1:18 他還說話的時候，又有人來說：「迦勒底人分作三隊忽然闖來，把駱駝擄去，並用刀殺了僕人；惟有我一人逃脫，來報信給你。」 While he was still speaking, yet another messenger came and said, <<Your sons and daughters were feasting and drinking wine at the oldest brother's house, 1:19 他還說話的時候，又有人來說：「你的兒女正在他們長兄的家裏吃飯喝酒， when suddenly a mighty wind swept in from the desert and struck the four corners of the house. It collapsed on them and they are dead, and I am the only one who has escaped to tell you!>> 1:20 不料，有狂風從曠野颳來，擊打房屋的四角，房屋倒塌在少年人身上，他們就都死了；惟有我一人逃脫，來報信給你。」 At this, Job got up and tore his robe and shaved his head. Then he fell to the ground in worship 1:21 約伯便起來，撕裂外袍，剃了頭，伏在地上下拜， and said: <<Naked I came from my mother's womb, and naked I will depart. 1:21 Or ((will return there)) The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away; may the name of the LORD be praised.>> 1:22 說：「我赤身出於母胎，也必赤身歸回；賞賜的是耶和華，收取的也是耶和華。耶和華的名是應當稱頌的。」 In all this, Job did not sin by charging God with wrongdoing. 三月十五日 「你這蟲雅各……不要害怕……我要使你成為有快齒打糧的新器具。」以賽亞書四一章14、15節（直譯） 蟲與快齒的器具怎樣可以相比呢？蟲是多麼軟弱，給我們石頭或車輪一壓，就會壓得稀爛；快齒的器具是多麼堅強；甚至能「把山嶺打得粉碎，使岡陵如同糠秕。」（賽四一15）但是全能的神能使蟲成為有快齒的器具。神能使個人或民族，藉著祂的靈，從蟲的軟弱到快齒器具的剛強，在歷史上留著很深的痕跡。 所以我們這些蟲不要喪膽。全能的神能使我們在四圍患難的環境中變成剛強。靠著祂的力量，我們能叫我們的環境向我們屈服，向我們進貢。我們甚至能隨便抓住一個黑色的失望，把牠劈開來，從其中抽出恩典的寶石來。神也能給我們像鐵那般的意志，所有的難處都能迎刃而解，猶如堅土遇到鐵犁那樣鬆散。神既說：「我要使你……」祂豈會不如此行呢？ ─喬懷德 基督建造祂的國度，都是用地上破碎的東西建造的。人們所要的是強健的、成功的、勝利的、不碎的；但是神所要的乃是在地上不成功的、失敗的、傷心的、軟弱的。天上充滿著地上破碎的生命，沒有一根壓傷的蘆葦是基督所不能恢復的。祂能使一個被痛苦、憂愁所壓傷的生命，變成一架彈出讚美的音樂來的古琴。祂能把地上的失敗變成天上的榮耀。 ─密勒 跟從我，我要範鑄你們， 有力地傳佈我的福音， 成為流出慈恩的溝洫， 使你們成為有用之人。 跟從我， 我要範鑄你們， 脫胎換骨， 重新做人， 有信， 有愛， 忠實虔誠， 不愧為神的子民。

March 15 "Fear not, thou worm Jacob....I will make thee a threshing instrument with teeth." (Isa. 41:14, 15.) ＣOULD any two things be in greater contrast than a worm and an instrument with teeth? The worm is delicate, bruised by a stone, crushed beneath the passing wheel; an instrument with teeth can break and not be broken; it can grave its mark upon the rock. And the mighty God can convert the one into the other. He can take a man or a nation, who has all the impotence of the worm, and by the invigoration of His own Spirit, He can endow with strength by which a noble mark is left upon the history of the time. And so the "worm" may take heart. The mighty God can make us stronger than our circumstances. He can bend them all to our good. In God's strengthwe can make them all pay tribute to our souls. We can even take hold of a black disappointment, break it open, and extract some jewel of grace. When God gives us wills like iron, we can drive through difficulties as the iron share cuts through the toughest soil. "I will make thee," and shall He not do it? ─Dr. Jowett. Christ is building His kingdom with earth's broken things. Men want only the strong, the successful, the victorious, the unbroken, in building their kingdoms; but God is the God of the unsuccessful, of those who have failed. Heaven is filling with earth's broken lives, and there is no bruised reed that Christ cannot take and restore to glorious blessedness and beauty. He can take the life crushed by pain or sorrow and make it into a harp whose music shall be all praise. he can lift earth's saddest failure up to heaven's glory. ─J. R. Miller. 三月十五日 保羅為代禱者 「我在父面前屈膝，……藉著祂的靈，叫你們心裡的力量剛強起來。」以弗所書三章14—16節 我們每逢想到保羅，就說他是偉大的傳道人、佈道家、大作家，及「格外勞苦」的大使徒；然而，我們卻不夠認識他是一位代禱者。他藉著祈求、尋求，並得著生活的能力，且能為他所服事的教會代求，帶下祝福。 我們看他上面寫給以弗所人的話，再想想他寫給帖撒羅尼迦人的話：「我們晝夜切切地祈求，以……補滿你們信心的不足；好使你們……心裡堅固，成為聖潔，無可責備。」（帖三10—13）在他寫給羅馬人書中說：「我怎樣不住的題到你們，在禱告之間。」（羅一9）寫給腓立比人書中說：「每逢為你們眾人祈求的時候，常是歡歡喜喜的祈求。」還有他寫給歌羅西人說：「我們為你們不住的禱告、祈求……」「我願意你們曉得，我為你們是何等盡心竭力。」（西一9；二1）保羅晝夜在神面前為他們呼籲，求聖靈的光與能力進入他們心內。他深信他的代求是大有功效的，照樣地，他也相信他們的代求會帶給他祝福。「我勸你們與我一同竭力，為我祈求神。」（羅十五30）「神現在仍要救我們……你們以祈禱幫助我們。」（林後一10—11）「也為我祈求，使我能放膽開口……」（弗六18—19；西四3；帖後三1）「藉著你們的禱告，終必叫我得救。」（腓一19） 神的僕人與百姓間的關係，完全基於同心合意恆切地禱告。他們之間的關係完全是屬天的、屬靈的、神聖的，只有靠恆切的禱告來維持。唯有當神的僕人與百姓能醒悟過來，知道聖靈的權能與祝福有賴於他們同心合意恆切的禱告時，教會才能真實地明白，甚麼是五旬節使徒時期的教會。 禱告： 永遠可稱頌的父啊，我們俯伏懇求您施恩，恢復教會懇求與代禱的靈——奉主的名。阿們。

三月十五日 膽怯的訓練 「跟從的人也害怕。」馬可福音十章32節 先時，我們雖然知道一些關於耶穌基督的事，樂於變賣一切所有，出於愛的去撇棄自己；但是現在卻有些恍惚。耶穌在前面，看來有些異樣。「耶穌在前頭走，門徒就希奇。」 耶穌的態度使門徒心冷，使全部靈性生活喘息不寧。祂的面容帶著鐵石的表情；而祂勇往直前的決心，尤令我感覺恐怖。祂不是導師，也不是同志；祂別有見解，我絕然不知道，徒增我的感慨與驚訝。先時我自信瞭解了祂，但是現在卻有不少的疑慮。我開始感覺耶穌基督和我之間有了阻隔，不像先前那麼熟識。祂在我前頭走，也不回頭；不知道往那裡去，祂奔赴的目標更是遙遠難知。 耶穌要探知人類所能經驗的一切罪惡與憂愁，那就是祂奇特的所在。當我們看見祂在這種情形中，不認知祂，也未瞭解祂生命的特點，更不知怎樣的追隨祂。祂在前面，像是一位奇特的領袖，與我們沒有同志的關係。 膽怯的訓練，在作門徒的訓練中，有根本的必要。最危險的是轉身依靠我們自己的小火（參賽五十10─11）。當喪膽的黑暗臨到時，耐心等待其過去，因為經過以後，我們就會覺 得追隨耶穌，有說不出的快樂。

三月十五日 「……你們要常在我的愛裡。」約翰福音十五章9節 我們能生活在很多不同的氣氛之下，有些人終日若有所思，他們的臉像個哲學家，他們也很有智慧。這些人生活在自己的感覺當中；他們對真理有主見、更有欣賞能力和審美觀念。有些人則活得像禽獸，他們生活在肉慾、眼睛的情慾之中；他們處在粗俗、下流、感官享受的氣氛之下。還有些人則生活在盡責任的壓力下，終日受良心斥責，使他們總是在恐懼的陰影之下，剝奪他們生命中的自由和生活裡的樂趣。不可否認的，這最後一種人的目的仍是誠實、正直、嚴謹的，他們的行為既不可忽視更不容置疑。 然而主基督要我們生活在愛的氣氛中。祂曾說：我愛你們，正如父愛我一樣，你們也要常在我的愛裡。在原文的版本中，祂的意思是要我們住或是生活在祂的愛裡。換言之，祂要我們永遠地活在祂的愛中，相信祂會一直愛我們，並且捉住祂的應許、享受祂的關心。這才真正是愛的生活。
