約伯記, 1章

^1:1 烏斯地有一個人名叫約伯；那人完全正直，敬畏　神，遠離惡事。 In the land of Uz there lived a man whose name was Job. This man was blameless and upright; he feared God and shunned evil.
^1:2 他生了七個兒子，三個女兒。 He had seven sons and three daughters,
^1:3 他的家產有七千羊，三千駱駝，五百對牛，五百母驢，並有許多僕婢。這人在東方人中就為至大。 and he owned seven thousand sheep, three thousand camels, five hundred yoke of oxen and five hundred donkeys, and had a large number of servants. He was the greatest man among all the people of the East.
^1:4 他的兒子按著日子各在自己家裏設擺筵宴，就打發人去，請了他們的三個姊妹來，與他們一同吃喝。 His sons used to take turns holding feasts in their homes, and they would invite their three sisters to eat and drink with them.
^1:5 筵宴的日子過了，約伯打發人去叫他們自潔。他清早起來，按著他們眾人的數目獻燔祭；因為他說：「恐怕我兒子犯了罪，心中棄掉　神。」約伯常常這樣行。 When a period of feasting had run its course, Job would send and have them purified. Early in the morning he would sacrifice a burnt offering for each of them, thinking, <<Perhaps my children have sinned and cursed God in their hearts.>> This was Job's regular custom.
^1:6 有一天，　神的眾子來侍立在耶和華面前，撒但也來在其中。 One day the angels 1:6 Hebrew ((the sons of God)) came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan 1:6 ((Satan)) means ((accuser.)) also came with them.
^1:7 耶和華問撒但說：「你從哪裏來？」撒但回答說：「我從地上走來走去，往返而來。」 The LORD said to Satan, <<Where have you come from?>> Satan answered the LORD, <<From roaming through the earth and going back and forth in it.>>
^1:8 耶和華問撒但說：「你曾用心察看我的僕人約伯沒有？地上再沒有人像他完全正直，敬畏　神，遠離惡事。」 Then the LORD said to Satan, <<Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil.>>
^1:9 撒但回答耶和華說：「約伯敬畏　神，豈是無故呢？ <<Does Job fear God for nothing?>> Satan replied.
^1:10 他的妻子對他說：「你仍然持守你的純正嗎？你棄掉　神，死了吧！」 <<Have you not put a hedge around him and his household and everything he has? You have blessed the work of his hands, so that his flocks and herds are spread throughout the land.
^1:11 你豈不是四面圈上籬笆圍護他和他的家，並他一切所有的嗎？他手所做的都蒙你賜福；他的家產也在地上增多。 But stretch out your hand and strike everything he has, and he will surely curse you to your face.>>
^1:12 你且伸手毀他一切所有的；他必當面棄掉你。」 The LORD said to Satan, <<Very well, then, everything he has is in your hands, but on the man himself do not lay a finger.>> Then Satan went out from the presence of the LORD.
^1:13 耶和華對撒但說：「凡他所有的都在你手中；只是不可伸手加害於他。」於是撒但從耶和華面前退去。 One day when Job's sons and daughters were feasting and drinking wine at the oldest brother's house,
^1:14 有一天，約伯的兒女正在他們長兄的家裏吃飯喝酒， a messenger came to Job and said, <<The oxen were plowing and the donkeys were grazing nearby,
^1:15 有報信的來見約伯，說：「牛正耕地，驢在旁邊吃草， and the Sabeans attacked and carried them off. They put the servants to the sword, and I am the only one who has escaped to tell you!>>
^1:16 示巴人忽然闖來，把牲畜擄去，並用刀殺了僕人；惟有我一人逃脫，來報信給你。」 While he was still speaking, another messenger came and said, <<The fire of God fell from the sky and burned up the sheep and the servants, and I am the only one who has escaped to tell you!>>
^1:17 他還說話的時候，又有人來說：「　神從天上降下火來，將群羊和僕人都燒滅了；惟有我一人逃脫，來報信給你。」 While he was still speaking, another messenger came and said, <<The Chaldeans formed three raiding parties and swept down on your camels and carried them off. They put the servants to the sword, and I am the only one who has escaped to tell you!>>
^1:18 他還說話的時候，又有人來說：「迦勒底人分作三隊忽然闖來，把駱駝擄去，並用刀殺了僕人；惟有我一人逃脫，來報信給你。」 While he was still speaking, yet another messenger came and said, <<Your sons and daughters were feasting and drinking wine at the oldest brother's house,
^1:19 他還說話的時候，又有人來說：「你的兒女正在他們長兄的家裏吃飯喝酒， when suddenly a mighty wind swept in from the desert and struck the four corners of the house. It collapsed on them and they are dead, and I am the only one who has escaped to tell you!>>
^1:20 不料，有狂風從曠野颳來，擊打房屋的四角，房屋倒塌在少年人身上，他們就都死了；惟有我一人逃脫，來報信給你。」 At this, Job got up and tore his robe and shaved his head. Then he fell to the ground in worship
^1:21 約伯便起來，撕裂外袍，剃了頭，伏在地上下拜， and said: <<Naked I came from my mother's womb, and naked I will depart. 1:21 Or ((will return there)) The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away; may the name of the LORD be praised.>>
^1:22 說：「我赤身出於母胎，也必赤身歸回；賞賜的是耶和華，收取的也是耶和華。耶和華的名是應當稱頌的。」 In all this, Job did not sin by charging God with wrongdoing.

■ 中文荒漠甘泉（10月13日）

十月十三日「應當一無罣慮，只要凡事藉著禱告、祈求、和感謝，將你們所要的告訴神。神所賜出人意外的平安，必在基督耶穌裡，保守你們的心懷意念。」腓立比書四章6節、7節一個信徒不該有絲毫罣慮。無論我們的試煉多大，痛苦多深，困難多雜，總不能叫我們有罣慮的理由，因為我們有一位父在天上，祂是全能的，祂愛我們，正如愛祂的獨生子一般，祂樂意隨時隨地救濟我們、幫助我們。所以讓我們聽祂對我們所說的話：「應當一無罣慮，只要凡事藉著禱告、祈求和感謝，將你們所要的告訴神。神所賜出人意外的平安，必在基督耶穌裡，保守你們的心懷意念。」「凡事」，不只是房屋著火，不只是所愛的病危，「凡事」包括日常生活中一切大大小小的事情；我們應當將「凡事」帶到神面前去！當我們夜半醒來，輾轉不能成眠的時候，就該頂自然地傾向神去，與祂談話，將我們種種瑣碎的事情帶到祂面前去——將一切家庭方面、職業方面的困難全告訴祂。「藉著禱告祈求」，站在乞丐的地位上，用誠懇和堅忍來等候祂。「和感謝」，我們應當隨時存感謝的心。如果我們以為沒有甚麼可叫我們感謝的話，至少有一件事是值得我們感謝的——祂救我們脫離死亡。祂給我們祂的道─—祂的兒子—─和聖靈。哦，這就彀叫我們大聲感謝讚美了。「神所賜出人意外的平安，必在基督耶穌裡，保守你們的心懷意念。」這是一個何等大、何等真、何等寶貴的祝福！但是這個祝福必須親身經歷過纔會知道，因為這是出人意外的。哦，讓我們把這些話放在心上。如果我們能一直照著行的話，結果定會叫神得到更大的榮耀。　　　　　　　　　　─慕勒我們應當時時察看自己有沒有甚麼叫我的心得不到安息？如果有的話，就當立刻到神前去對付，直到恢復了內心的鎮靜。　　　　　　　　　　─撒勒

■ 英文荒漠甘泉（10月13日）

October 13 "In nothing be anxious." (Phil. 4:6.) 　ＮO anxiety ought to be found in a believer. Great, many and varied may be our trials, our afflictions, our difficulties, and yet there should be no anxiety under any circumstances, because we have a Father in Heaven who is almighty, who loves His children as He loves His only-begotten Son, and whose very joy and delight it is to succor and help them at all times and under all circumstances. We should attend to the Word, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God." 　"In everything," that is not merely when the house is on fire, not merely when the beloved wife and children are on the brink of the grave, but in the smallest matters of life, bring everyghing before God, the little things, the very little things, what the world calls trifling things- everything-living in holy communion with our Heavenly Father, and with our precious Lord Jesus all day long. And when we awake at night, by a kind of spiritual instinct again turning to Him, and speaking to Him, bringing our various little matters before Him in the sleepless night, the difficulties in connection with the family, our trade, our profession. Whatever tries us in any way, speak to the Lord about it. 　"By prayer and supplication," taking the place of beggars, with earnestness, with perseverance, going on and waiting, waiting, waiting on God. 　"With thanksgiving." We should at all times lay a good foundation with thanksgiving. If everything else were wanting, this is always present, that, He has saved us from hell. Then, that He has given us His Holy Word-His Son, His choicest gift-and the Holy spirit. Therefore we have abundant reason for thanksgiving. O let us aim at this! 　"And the peace of God which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus." And this is so great a blessing, so real a blessing, so precious a blessing, that it must be known experimentally to be entered into, for it passeth understanding. ■ 永活之泉（10月13日）

十月十三日　永久的代禱「稱長久為人代禱的人是宗教狂熱者是何等毫無理由。至少在單單真實的從神獲得啟示的生命，是無法得到良善和喜樂，那就不可能同意此說，因為良善無法與神分離而單獨存在，除非藉祂自己所變成有福而聖潔的人，否則沒人能有此種生命；惟有直接從內住的神得到啟示，否則沒有高級受造之物，可從其他地方找到良善和喜樂。根據永遠的啟示：動物怎樣需要空氣，高級受造物也怎樣需要有良善、聖潔和喜樂的本性。」「認為啟示和引導止於先知和使徒的時代而不會臨到現在的基督徒，乃是何等錯誤的說法，因為他們雖不是先知或使徒，但亦稱為聖徒。像天父般的完全，有基督的心志，單單遵行神的旨意，彰顯祂的榮耀，棄絕屬世的靈，盡心、盡性、盡意愛神，並愛鄰居如同自己。」「注意這偉大、神聖和超自然的力量，如何在先知和使徒身上工作，你就會發現聖潔不限於某一場合和時間，而是永遠存在我們的思想、意志、渴望、情感之中，那麼我們可知這內在的聖潔和良善是永遠存在，當我們迫切需要時就會藉神的靈啟示我們；如我們的思想和情感永遠保持聖潔和良善，則聖善神的靈就會永遠住在我們裏面，作啟示的工作。」賜福的父神，我們求您用天上的啟示，就是有福的真理，我們有信心的祈求您的聖靈直接永遠引導我們，運行在我們身上。

■ 中文屬天日子（10月13日）

十月十三日　個人的失望與各自的發展「摩西長大，出去到他弟兄那裡，看他們的重擔。」出埃及記二章11節摩西看見他百姓受壓迫，自覺是拯救他們的一位，受著義憤的催逼，便開始替他們伸冤，為正義，為神走了第一步以後，神就讓摩西陷於完全失望中，打發他到曠野牧羊四十年。時候到了，神向摩西顯現，吩咐他去領祂的百姓出來。而摩西說：「我是甚麼人，竟能去見法老呢？」開始，摩西以為他是拯救百姓的人，可惜的是他先未受到神的訓練。在個人方面他是對的，但他是不習於與神契合，而作此事的人。我們也許有神的異象，能瞭解神所要的是甚麼，也像摩西一樣開始工作起來；後來，同樣的在曠野四十年，好像神忽略了所有的事，但在我們完全失望的時候，神轉回頭來，恢復從前的選召，我們反戰慄著說：「啊，我是甚麼！」我們要學知神動腳的那一大步：「我是自有永有的打發你。」我們要曉得我們個人替神努力是不甚適當的；個人只能藉著神的關係白熱化起來（參太三11）。我們只注意事物的一方面，我們也得著了異象──「這是神一要我做的事，」但是沒有與神齊一步伐。如果你經過一種失望，就有一種大的發展在你面前等待你。

■ 中文上海嗎哪（10月13日）

十月十三日「原來體貼肉體的，就是與神為仇……」羅馬書八章7節我們的肉體可說是無可救藥的敗壞，它「……不服神的律法，也是不能服。」(羅八7)因為肉體永遠也無法變好，所以試著改進肉體是無用的。不管我們受多少教育，用什麼好的方法來制約我們的行為，有最好的模範做我們的例子與否，或是用哀痛、勇氣、嚴肅的態度來對付肉體，但是我們最後會發現：肉體的敗壞依然是積習難改。一個小孩子所養大的野禿鷹，雖然從雛鳥時就接受家鴿般的訓練，但是長大時仍然會以其尖利的嘴啄痛撫養牠長大的人，可見得教育並不能改變禿鷹的殘暴，而其自然的天性也永遠不會與鴿子一樣。無怪乎保羅會說：「原來體貼肉體的，就是與神為仇；因為不服神的律法，也是不能服。」惟一能補救人天性的辦法，乃是毀滅老我，接受屬天的性格。神的目的不在改進人，乃是要藉著基督釘死我們的肉體，然後在基督耶穌裡使我們成為新造的人。
