1:1 烏斯地有一個人名叫約伯；那人完全正直，敬畏 神，遠離惡事。 In the land of Uz there lived a man whose name was Job. This man was blameless and upright; he feared God and shunned evil.
1:2 他生了七個兒子，三個女兒。 He had seven sons and three daughters, 1:3 他的家產有七千羊，三千駱駝，五百對牛，五百母驢，並有許多僕婢。這人在東方人中就為至大。 and he owned seven thousand sheep, three thousand camels, five hundred yoke of oxen and five hundred donkeys, and had a large number of servants. He was the greatest man among all the people of the East. 1:4 他的兒子按著日子各在自己家裏設擺筵宴，就打發人去，請了他們的三個姊妹來，與他們一同吃喝。 His sons used to take turns holding feasts in their homes, and they would invite their three sisters to eat and drink with them. 1:5 筵宴的日子過了，約伯打發人去叫他們自潔。他清早起來，按著他們眾人的數目獻燔祭；因為他說：「恐怕我兒子犯了罪，心中棄掉 神。」約伯常常這樣行。 When a period of feasting had run its course, Job would send and have them purified. Early in the morning he would sacrifice a burnt offering for each of them, thinking, <<Perhaps my children have sinned and cursed God in their hearts.>> This was Job's regular custom. 1:6 有一天， 神的眾子來侍立在耶和華面前，撒但也來在其中。 One day the angels 1:6 Hebrew ((the sons of God)) came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan 1:6 ((Satan)) means ((accuser.)) also came with them. 1:7 耶和華問撒但說：「你從哪裏來？」撒但回答說：「我從地上走來走去，往返而來。」 The LORD said to Satan, <<Where have you come from?>> Satan answered the LORD, <<From roaming through the earth and going back and forth in it.>> 1:8 耶和華問撒但說：「你曾用心察看我的僕人約伯沒有？地上再沒有人像他完全正直，敬畏 神，遠離惡事。」 Then the LORD said to Satan, <<Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil.>> 1:9 撒但回答耶和華說：「約伯敬畏 神，豈是無故呢？ <<Does Job fear God for nothing?>> Satan replied. 1:10 他的妻子對他說：「你仍然持守你的純正嗎？你棄掉 神，死了吧！」 <<Have you not put a hedge around him and his household and everything he has? You have blessed the work of his hands, so that his flocks and herds are spread throughout the land. 1:11 你豈不是四面圈上籬笆圍護他和他的家，並他一切所有的嗎？他手所做的都蒙你賜福；他的家產也在地上增多。 But stretch out your hand and strike everything he has, and he will surely curse you to your face.>> 1:12 你且伸手毀他一切所有的；他必當面棄掉你。」 The LORD said to Satan, <<Very well, then, everything he has is in your hands, but on the man himself do not lay a finger.>> Then Satan went out from the presence of the LORD. 1:13 耶和華對撒但說：「凡他所有的都在你手中；只是不可伸手加害於他。」於是撒但從耶和華面前退去。 One day when Job's sons and daughters were feasting and drinking wine at the oldest brother's house, 1:14 有一天，約伯的兒女正在他們長兄的家裏吃飯喝酒， a messenger came to Job and said, <<The oxen were plowing and the donkeys were grazing nearby, 1:15 有報信的來見約伯，說：「牛正耕地，驢在旁邊吃草， and the Sabeans attacked and carried them off. They put the servants to the sword, and I am the only one who has escaped to tell you!>> 1:16 示巴人忽然闖來，把牲畜擄去，並用刀殺了僕人；惟有我一人逃脫，來報信給你。」 While he was still speaking, another messenger came and said, <<The fire of God fell from the sky and burned up the sheep and the servants, and I am the only one who has escaped to tell you!>> 1:17 他還說話的時候，又有人來說：「 神從天上降下火來，將群羊和僕人都燒滅了；惟有我一人逃脫，來報信給你。」 While he was still speaking, another messenger came and said, <<The Chaldeans formed three raiding parties and swept down on your camels and carried them off. They put the servants to the sword, and I am the only one who has escaped to tell you!>> 1:18 他還說話的時候，又有人來說：「迦勒底人分作三隊忽然闖來，把駱駝擄去，並用刀殺了僕人；惟有我一人逃脫，來報信給你。」 While he was still speaking, yet another messenger came and said, <<Your sons and daughters were feasting and drinking wine at the oldest brother's house, 1:19 他還說話的時候，又有人來說：「你的兒女正在他們長兄的家裏吃飯喝酒， when suddenly a mighty wind swept in from the desert and struck the four corners of the house. It collapsed on them and they are dead, and I am the only one who has escaped to tell you!>> 1:20 不料，有狂風從曠野颳來，擊打房屋的四角，房屋倒塌在少年人身上，他們就都死了；惟有我一人逃脫，來報信給你。」 At this, Job got up and tore his robe and shaved his head. Then he fell to the ground in worship 1:21 約伯便起來，撕裂外袍，剃了頭，伏在地上下拜， and said: <<Naked I came from my mother's womb, and naked I will depart. 1:21 Or ((will return there)) The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away; may the name of the LORD be praised.>> 1:22 說：「我赤身出於母胎，也必赤身歸回；賞賜的是耶和華，收取的也是耶和華。耶和華的名是應當稱頌的。」 In all this, Job did not sin by charging God with wrongdoing. 十二月十八日 「靠著愛我們的主，在這一切事上，已經得勝有餘了。」羅馬書八章37節 福音這樣指示我們，攻擊我們的仇敵，反對我們的勢力，是我們進到神前的梯階。 正如鷲鷹坐在峭壁上，守望黑雲密佈的天空；雖然叉狀的閃電穿上穿下，牠仍頂安靜的坐著，期待那將來的風雨。牠從不肯早一刻飛行的；牠必須覺到風雨已經爆發了，已經打到身上了；然後尖叫一聲，就衝入風雨之中，借風之勢向天飛去。 這正是神要祂每一個孩子作的事─把黑雲當作火車，藉此得勝有餘。「得勝有餘」不單是把對方驅逐出去，並且還掠得對方一切的軍火、糧食……。 親愛的，你有沒有得到戰利品呢？當你進入苦難谷的時候，你有沒有帶著掠物出來呢？當毀滅臨到你的時候，你有沒有信靠神：祂必叫你出來的時候，比進去的時候更豐富呢？「得勝有餘」就是從仇敵那裏把掠物奪來，撥作己用。 英國孟博士（Dr. Moon）瞎眼的時候，說，「主啊，我從你手裏接受這盲目的恩典。求你叫我用它鑄造你的榮耀，好使你來的時候，得著滿足。」神果然藉他發明盲人所用的凸版文字，千萬盲人得讀神的話語；有許多竟因此蒙了救贖。 ─選 神並不挪去保羅的刺；神作的比「挪去」更好——神利用那刺。刺的用處比寶座的用處更大。 ─選

December 18 "In all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us." (Rom. 8:37) ＴHE Gospel is so arranged and the gift of God so great that you may take the very enemies that fight you and the forces that are arrayed against you and make them steps up to the very gates of heaven and into the presence of God. Like the eagle, who sits on a crag and watches the sky as it is filling with blackness, and the forked lightnings are playing up and down, and he is sitting perfectly still, turning one eye and then the other toward the storm. But he never moves until he begins to feel the burst of the breeze and knows that the hurricane has struck him; with a scream, he swings his breast to the storm, and uses the storm to go up to the sky; away he goes, borne upward upon it. That is what God wants of every on of His children, to be more than conqueror, turning the storm-cloud into a chariot. You know when one army is more than conqueror it is likly to drive the other from the field, to get all the ammunition, the food and supplies, and to take possession of the whole. That is just what our text means. There are spoils to be taken! Beloved, have you got them? When you went into that terrible valley of suffering did you come out of it with spoils? When that injury struck you and you thought everything was gone, did you so trust in God that you came out richer than you went in? To be more than conqueror is to take the spoils from the enemy and appropriate them to yourself. What he had arranged for your overthrow, take and appropriate for yourself. When Dr. Moon, of Brighton, England, was stricken with blindness, he said: "Lord, I accept this talent of blindness from Thee. Help me to use it for Thy glory that at Thy coming Thou mayest receive Thine own with usury." Then God enabled him to invent the Moon Alphabet for the blind, by which thousands of blind people were enabled to read the word of God, and many of them were gloriously saved. －Selected. God did not take away Paul's thorn; He did better-He mastered that thorn, and made it Paul's servant. The ministry of thorns has often been a greater ministry to man than the ministry of thrones. －Selected.
■ 永活之泉（12月18日）
十二月十八日 愛心和禱告 「儆醒禱告，最要緊的是彼此切實相愛。」彼得前書四章7、8節 在上述經文中，把儆醒禱告和切實相愛聯合在一起；屬靈生命也確實如此，如果一個人單為自己禱告，是難以正確地向著神；反之，如心裏充滿切實相愛的心，為那些可愛或意見不合的人代求，那就可以經常與神保持正常的關係。 如果我們在愛的生活中，忽略禱告方面的重要，那弟兄相愛的訣要也就有了缺點。這兩種聖靈的果子是無法分開的，假如你希望你的愛心能增長昇華，那就得捨己，為神的兒女及教會恆切代禱告。這也能使你的禱告生活增長，獻上自己，切實地愛並服務周圍的人，解決他們的難題。 恆切而有能力的代禱是何等大的需要！但願那些抱怨基督徒的愛是何等少的人，能承認他們才最缺少愛的記號——他們沒有經常多方地為弟兄代禱。我深信神渴望祂的子民能合為一體，每天在施恩寶座前為每位肢體祈求聖靈的能力。團結就有力量，這才是真正地關切天國的降臨；真正屬靈的合一能幫助我們過著忘我無私的生活，使一切都是為神和肢體，並把「儆醒禱告——切實相愛」應用在生活上。 愛心增長最好的方法，莫過於每天在一起向施恩座求取喜樂和合一的靈，在我們個人和全部基督的身體（教會）彰顯出來。這不僅提到愛，也提到禱告。當我們思想愛弟兄時，我們不得不與神交通，我們要達到目的，不僅要讀要想，更要藉著聖靈與父神和基督切實來往；愛能促使禱告，而相信禱告能使我們穩妥地擁有神的愛。

十二月十八日 忠實的測驗 「我們曉得萬事都互相效力，叫愛神的人得益處。」羅馬書八章28節 只有忠實的人相信神是製造環境的。我們自由選擇我們的環境，不相信是神製造的；雖然我們口說我們相信，然於我們處理所發生的事情，把它當為人所製造的一般。遇事忠實，意思是我們只有一種忠心，那就是對於我們的主的忠心。假使神忽然破壞我們的環境，也許我們覺悟在某件事上未忠於祂，但未必覺得這種破壞是祂所安排的，也不覺得是祂的旨意，這種事在我們生活歲月中，是絕不會再現的。我們忠實與否是應在此測驗的。如果我們在艱難情形中，習於崇拜神，祂會隨意的，在兩秒鐘以內改變它們。 忠於耶穌基督是我們今日不容易做的事。我們常是忠於工作，忠於服務，忠於任何事，但未忠於耶穌基督。有許多基督徒，談到忠於耶穌，便極不耐煩。我們的主被基督工人推下寶座，比世人還推得厲害。神是祝福人的一架機器，而耶穌基督是工人中的一個工人。 我們替神工作的這種觀念，有些錯誤，應當說我們忠於祂，叫祂藉著我們做祂的工作──「我以為你是誠懇服務的，在你方面沒有怨言，在我方面無須解釋。」神將用我們，像用祂自己的兒子一樣。

十二月十八日 「……是因信神的兒子而活。」加拉太書二章20節 信心所受到最大的阻礙，乃是我們所謂的「我們的信心」。這種信心可謂是沒有果效、掙扎出來的假產品。雖然我們嘗試倚靠神，卻不可避免地虧缺了神的標準，以及祂榮耀的應許。 惟一能與偉大應許相配合，以及能幫助我們得到生活中無數需要的信心，乃是神兒子耶穌的信心。而只要我們聰明地接受耶穌，祂就會賜給我們能力去信靠、愛人、順服，以及在新生命所有應當去做的事。 讚美主耶穌的名，祂以一條看不見的繩索把我們無助的心和祂連繫起來；這繩索並且也與屬天的應許連結在一起。耶穌曾說：「你們當信服神。」(可十一22)這是祂的命令。再說，「是因信神的兒子而活」，已經是許多聖徒得勝的見證。 主啊！教導我擁有耶穌基督有的信心。
