雅各書, 1章

^1:1 作　神和主耶穌基督僕人的雅各請散住十二個支派之人的安。 James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ,To the twelve tribes scattered among the nations:Greetings.
^1:2 我的弟兄們，你們落在百般試煉中，都要以為大喜樂； Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds,
^1:3 因為知道你們的信心經過試驗，就生忍耐。 because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance.
^1:4 但忍耐也當成功，使你們成全、完備，毫無缺欠。 Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
^1:5 你們中間若有缺少智慧的，應當求那厚賜與眾人、也不斥責人的　神，主就必賜給他。 If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.
^1:6 只要憑著信心求，一點不疑惑；因為那疑惑的人，就像海中的波浪，被風吹動翻騰。 But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.
^1:7 這樣的人不要想從主那裏得甚麼。 That man should not think he will receive anything from the Lord;
^1:8 心懷二意的人，在一切所行的路上都沒有定見。 he is a double-minded man, unstable in all he does.
^1:9 卑微的弟兄升高，就該喜樂； The brother in humble circumstances ought to take pride in his high position.
^1:10 富足的降卑，也該如此；因為他必要過去，如同草上的花一樣。 0 But the one who is rich should take pride in his low position, because he will pass away like a wild flower.
^1:11 太陽出來，熱風颳起，草就枯乾，花也凋謝，美容就消沒了；那富足的人，在他所行的事上也要這樣衰殘。 For the sun rises with scorching heat and withers the plant; its blossom falls and its beauty is destroyed. In the same way, the rich man will fade away even while he goes about his business.
^1:12 忍受試探的人是有福的，因為他經過試驗以後，必得生命的冠冕，這是主應許給那些愛他之人的。 Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.
^1:13 人被試探，不可說：「我是被　神試探」；因為　神不能被惡試探，他也不試探人。 When tempted, no one should say, <<God is tempting me.>> For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone;
^1:14 但各人被試探，乃是被自己的私慾牽引誘惑的。 but each one is tempted when, by his own evil desire, he is dragged away and enticed.
^1:15 私慾既懷了胎，就生出罪來；罪既長成，就生出死來。 Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.
^1:16 我親愛的弟兄們，不要看錯了。 Don't be deceived, my dear brothers.
^1:17 各樣美善的恩賜和各樣全備的賞賜都是從上頭來的，從眾光之父那裏降下來的；在他並沒有改變，也沒有轉動的影兒。 Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.
^1:18 他按自己的旨意，用真道生了我們，叫我們在他所造的萬物中好像初熟的果子。 He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of all he created.
^1:19 我親愛的弟兄們，這是你們所知道的，但你們各人要快快地聽，慢慢地說，慢慢地動怒， My dear brothers, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry,
^1:20 因為人的怒氣並不成就　神的義。 for man's anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires.
^1:21 所以你們要脫去一切的污穢和盈餘的邪惡，存溫柔的心領受那所栽種的道，就是能救你們靈魂的道。 Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you.
^1:22 只是你們要行道，不要單單聽道，自己欺哄自己。 Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.
^1:23 因為聽道而不行道的，就像人對著鏡子看自己本來的面目， Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror
^1:24 看見，走後，隨即忘了他的相貌如何。 and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like.
^1:25 惟有詳細察看那全備，使人自由之律法的，並且時常如此，這人既不是聽了就忘，乃是實在行出來，就在他所行的事上必然得福。 But the man who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it--he will be blessed in what he does.
^1:26 若有人自以為虔誠，卻不勒住他的舌頭，反欺哄自己的心，這人的虔誠是虛的。 If anyone considers himself religious and yet does not keep a tight rein on his tongue, he deceives himself and his religion is worthless.
^1:27 在　神我們的父面前，那清潔沒有玷污的虔誠，就是看顧在患難中的孤兒寡婦，並且保守自己不沾染世俗。 Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.

十月廿日「神所賜出人意外的平安，必在基督耶穌裡，保守你們的心懷意念。」腓立比書四章7節（直譯）洋海深處有一個最鎮定的中心，人們稱它為「海墊褥」。無論海面波浪多大，狂風多猛，「海墊褥」決不會受到絲毫擾動。從海底裡撈起來的動植物的遺蹟，能對我們證明：它們在海底裡數百年數千年之久，從來沒有受到絲毫擾動過。神的平安是永久的平安，像「海墊褥」一樣，是在人的最深處的—─是外面的困難和騷動所不能摸到的：凡進到神前的人，都能享受這樣的平安。　　　　　　　　　　─皮爾生當狂風在海面上掃蕩，　暴浪在怒潮中翻騰，可是在洶湧的海洋深處，　永遠保持著寧靜和平。在那深處，聽不見暴風的喧嚷，　銀色的微波，永遠在和諧低鳴，無論海面上的風浪多麼兇猛，　都不能打擾海洋深處的安寧。主啊，在那深知你愛的心中，　永遠有一座神聖的寶殿，人生所有的怨聲和怒言，　都消失在它和平之門前面。激烈的呼喊遠遠逝去，　愛的思想靜靜地上升，無論世上的風浪多麼猛烈，　都不能打擾，信靠你的心靈。　　　　　　　　　　─史篤威那些天路歷程中的旅客，都安置在面向日出的高樓裏。這樓名曰平安閣。　　　　　　　　　　─天路歷程

■ 英文荒漠甘泉（10月20日）

October 20 "And the peace of God, which transcends all our powers of thought, will be a garrison to guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus."(Phil. 4:7) (Weymouth.) 　ＴHERE is what is called the "cushion of the sea." Down beneath the surface that is agitated by storms, and driven about with winds, there is a part of the sea that is never stirred. When we dredge the bottom and bring up the remains of animal and vegetable life we find that they give evidence of not having been disturbed in the least, for hundreds and thousands of years. The peace of God is that eternal calm which, like the cushion of the sea, lies far too deep down to be reached by any external trouble and disturbance; and he who enters into the presence of God, becomes partaker of that undisturbed and undisturbable calm. 　　　　　　　　　　—Dr. A. ■ 永活之泉（10月20日）

十月廿日　神的良善神的善良使創造的初期產生力量，使其有向善的意願，因為神的創造單單為了向受造物彰顯善良，所以祂總以良善對待他們。創造時，祂也將此置於所造之物，如太陽就以祝福生物為其本性，也就像聖潔的三一神因此可產生能力，祂將豐富甜美的完全澆灌在他們裏面，使他們的生命能包含之。「善良是神所以可親的本性，像活水將善良永不止盡的傳揚出來。祂是源頭，其愛無限，對其受造之物除了出自愛，不做什麼；除了愛的恩賜，不賜予什麼；除結出以愛為首的聖靈果子，也不對受造之物有著其他的要求。神聖之愛是何其甜美！何等高深！而引發每位有思想的人，何其能有相似的行動來與這由愛湧出無限的良善相稱！有何宗教發現了留在我們當中，與我們有關神聖如海洋般的愛！救贖的每一部份從亞當墮落，使我們落在死的陰影之中，除了起初創造人和天使的愛以外，沒有別的內含；全備福音的奧秘也將神的愛充份顯明出來，使全人類和萬物都能脫離罪的影響。有一種病何等喜愛在冬天曬太陽，要歷經何其漫長的旅途到達瑞士高地受到陽光最溫暖的曝曬。但是，唉！卻只有極少基督徒認為他們需要等候在神前，讓神的光照在他們身上，並進入他們裏面，穿透他們；太少基督徒明白要花時間讓神的光帶著無限的愛進入他們心靈深處並彰顯至全身。哦！我們的天父！求您教導我們，向您求並相信這愛，直到我的心充滿了愛，否則絕不止息。

■ 中文屬天日子（10月20日）

十月廿日　神的旨意是我的旨意麼？「神的旨意，就是……成為聖潔。」帖撒羅尼迦前書四章3節問題不在神願不願潔淨我，我的旨意是不是這樣呢？我願意神在我裡面行贖價所已作成的一切麼？我願意耶穌在我裡面成聖，願意耶穌的生活在我肉身上顯示出來麼？當心說──「啊，我渴望成聖。」你不是的，止息渴望，要把它當為一件事去處理──「我的手沒有帶甚麼來。」在完全信仰裡接耶穌基督，使祂對於你成聖的贖價，在你的裡面成為實在。耶穌藉著神之愛，在祂所完成的因由上，一切可能做的都成為我的。我的態度若像獲救成聖的人，必是謙卑而成聖的（成聖裡沒有驕傲），這種成聖乃是以痛心悔改和說不出的羞辱慚愧為基礎，也就是以感覺神委託於我的愛為基礎。在這裡，我雖不注意祂，祂卻完成我的救恩和成聖各方面的事。（參羅五8）。難怪保羅說沒有甚麼「能使我們與神的愛隔絕，這愛是在我們的主耶穌基督裡。」成聖使我在耶穌基督裡面與祂合而為一，因祂而與神合而為一，這只有藉著基督無比的贖價才得完成。切不可以果為因，在我裡面的果是服從。服務和祈禱，因贖價在我裡面所作的稀有的成聖，使我有說不出的感謝和崇拜。

■ 中文上海嗎哪（10月20日）

十月廿日「我們行善，不可喪志……」加拉太書六章9節如果保羅知道他能夠帶給後代的基督徒多少的安慰及希望，使我們能從十字架到天國的路上得著幫助，他一定會為神的子民死上千萬次，更不會顧惜他的頭顱在羅馬奧斯丁門口的泥沙中滑滾。如果我們能想像因著我們信心的謙卑事奉，所帶來的永恆祝福有多少，那麼我們就會視奉獻及勞動為不能言喻的榮耀及機會。我們絕不會再談為神受了多少考驗、做了多大犧牲。最小的信心種子不僅是不朽、不可毀壞的，這種子更能在天上地下帶來永恆的榮耀。就讓我們仰起頭來，因為水平線比我們所能看到的要大得多。雖然我們活的時候受苦難、必須勞動，但是我們有永恆的盼望。
