創世紀, 1章

^1:1 起初，神創造天地。 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
^1:2 地是空虛混沌，淵面黑暗；神的靈運行在水面上。 Now the earth was 1:2 Or possibly ((became)) formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.
^1:3 神說：要有光，就有了光。 And God said, <<Let there be light,>> and there was light.
^1:4 神看光是好的，就把光暗分開了。 God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness.
^1:5 神稱光為晝，稱暗為夜。有晚上，有早晨，這是頭一日。 God called the light <<day,>> and the darkness he called <<night.>> And there was evening, and there was morning--the first day.
^1:6 神說：諸水之間要有空氣，將水分為上下。 And God said, <<Let there be an expanse between the waters to separate water from water.>>
^1:7 神就造出空氣，將空氣以下的水、空氣以上的水分開了。事就這樣成了。 So God made the expanse and separated the water under the expanse from the water above it. And it was so.
^1:8 神稱空氣為天。有晚上，有早晨，是第二日。 God called the expanse <<sky.>> And there was evening, and there was morning--the second day.
^1:9 神說：天下的水要聚在一處，使旱地露出來。事就這樣成了。 And God said, <<Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place, and let dry ground appear.>> And it was so.
^1:10 神稱旱地為地，稱水的聚處為海。神看著是好的。 God called the dry ground <<land,>> and the gathered waters he called <<seas.>> And God saw that it was good.
^1:11 神說：地要發生青草和結種子的菜蔬，並結果子的樹木，各從其類，果子都包著核。事就這樣成了。 Then God said, <<Let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds.>> And it was so.
^1:12 於是地發生了青草和結種子的菜蔬，各從其類；並結果子的樹木，各從其類；果子都包著核。神看著是好的。 The land produced vegetation: plants bearing seed according to their kinds and trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.
^1:13 有晚上，有早晨，是第三日。 And there was evening, and there was morning--the third day.
^1:14 神說：天上要有光體，可以分晝夜，作記號，定節令、日子、年歲， And God said, <<Let there be lights in the expanse of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark seasons and days and years,
^1:15 並要發光在天空，普照在地上。事就這樣成了。 and let them be lights in the expanse of the sky to give light on the earth.>> And it was so.
^1:16 於是神造了兩個大光，大的管晝，小的管夜，又造眾星， God made two great lights--the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night. He also made the stars.
^1:17 就把這些光擺列在天空，普照在地上， God set them in the expanse of the sky to give light on the earth,
^1:18 管理晝夜，分別明暗。神看著是好的。 to govern the day and the night, and to separate light from darkness. And God saw that it was good.
^1:19 有晚上，有早晨，是第四日。 And there was evening, and there was morning--the fourth day.
^1:20 神說：水要多多滋生有生命的物；要有雀鳥飛在地面以上，天空之中。 And God said, <<Let the water teem with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the expanse of the sky.>>
^1:21 神就造出大魚和水中所滋生各樣有生命的動物，各從其類；又造出各樣飛鳥，各從其類。神看著是好的。 So God created the great creatures of the sea and every living and moving thing with which the water teems, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.
^1:22 神就賜福給這一切，說：滋生繁多，充滿海中的水；雀鳥也要多生在地上。 God blessed them and said, <<Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the water in the seas, and let the birds increase on the earth.>>
^1:23 有晚上，有早晨，是第五日。 And there was evening, and there was morning--the fifth day.
^1:24 神說：地要生出活物來，各從其類；牲畜、昆蟲、野獸，各從其類。事就這樣成了。 And God said, <<Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds: livestock, creatures that move along the ground, and wild animals, each according to its kind.>> And it was so.
^1:25 於是神造出野獸，各從其類；牲畜，各從其類；地上一切昆蟲，各從其類。神看著是好的。 God made the wild animals according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and all the creatures that move along the ground according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.
^1:26 神說：我們要照著我們的形像、按著我們的樣式造人，使他們管理海裏的魚、空中的鳥、地上的牲畜，和全地，地上所爬的一切昆蟲。 Then God said, <<Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, 1:26 Hebrew; Syriac ((all the wild animals)) and over all the creatures that move along the ground.>>
^1:27 神就照著自己的形像造人，乃是照著他的形像造男造女。 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.
^1:28 神就賜福給他們，又對他們說：要生養眾多，遍滿地面，治理這地，也要管理海裏的魚、空中的鳥，和地上各樣動的活物。 God blessed them and said to them, <<Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground.>>
^1:29 神說：看那，我將遍地上一切結種子的菜蔬和一切樹上所結有核的果子全賜給你們作食物。 Then God said, <<I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food.
^1:30 至於地上的走獸和空中的飛鳥，並各樣爬在地上有生命的物，我將青草賜給他們作食物。事就這樣成了。 And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds of the air and all the creatures that move on the ground--everything that has the breath of life in it--I give every green plant for food.>> And it was so.
^1:31 神看著一切所造的都甚好。有晚上，有早晨，是第六日。 God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning--the sixth day.

八月廿六日「深淵說，不在我內。」約伯記廿八章14節我記得有一年夏天，我說：「我所需要的是海洋」，我就到有海洋的地方去，但是海洋說：「不在我內！」海洋並不照我所要的給我成就。於是我說：「高山一定會使我得到安息」，我就到有高山的地方去；我清晨醒來，前面立著我所渴望的巍然的高山；但是高山說：「不在我內！」高山又不能使我滿足。哦！我所需要的究竟是甚麼呢？我所需要的是神的愛海和真理山。深淵說，智慧不在他裏面；是的，智慧本不像珍珠、黃金和寶石那樣多。惟有基督是智慧，是我們最大的需要。我們的煩惱，只有基督的友誼和愛情能安慰我們。　　　　　　　　　　─濮登那是我心所嚮往的地點，在那永恆的山上，我所愛的一切，住在萬花圍繞的中間；潔白的殿堂，光輝四壁，神坐在殿中，對祂喜露笑顏，祂豐盛的頭髮被榮光鍍成金黃，祂那不朽的面容，襯托得更為美觀，那是我珍貴和嚮往的地點。祂那裏是我心所嚮往的地點，祂使世上的一切生命變得甜美，生和死都合乎造化的時會，祂是那麼溫柔，勇敢而莊嚴，祂存心寬恕，祂有力普救眾生。祂純美的聖靈使天國更為美觀，我渴羨的祈求都昇向那邊，祂那邊，是我珍愛和嚮往的地點。　　　　　　　　　　─選你沒有法子將一隻老鷹扣留在森林裏。你就是替牠聚集了一群最美麗的小鳥在牠四圍歌唱，你就是給牠在最大的松樹上安放一根棲木，你就是差遣有翼的使者帶最美味的珍饈給牠，都不能動牠的心。伸展著高聳的翅膀，眼望著高臨的絕壁，牠喜歡飛往牠自己的老家——磐石、風雨、瀑布中——去安息的。人類的心，也像老鷹一般。如果沒有永久的磐石，就永遠得不到安息。我們的老家乃是天家。「主阿，您世世代代作我們的居所。」（詩九十1）　　　　　　　　　　─馬克特夫　「我的家就是神」，基督帶我前去。我躺在萬能的手臂之中；祂把我舉起，免受一切恐懼，帶我到「唯有祂走過的地方」，在那裏神聖的家裏和神相處，喚我住在祂裏面，在那裏享樂。啊，可愛的家，神聖的居所，神的子女就是那裏的住戶。　「我的家就是神」，以前我不明瞭，我曾日夜作長途的旅行，企圖本身去發現一些道路，只憑我的能力和感覺去追求，努力無效，心被恐懼所圍繞，其時我發現基督是唯一的路。我必須歸向祂，投入祂的懷抱，神曾經如此關照。如今「神是我的家」，我住在那裏，神承擔我塵世生活的重負，祂引導我繞過風暴和鬥爭，祂給我卸除日常的憂慮，啊，奇妙的地方，神聖的家，我是神的子女，受祂安全庇護。主啊，自從您我住在彼此心中，除了您，我一切都已拋棄；當我安息在最美滿的家裏，我的靈魂就能隨時隨地，在一切事物中看見您。「我的家就是神」。　　　　　　　　　　─選

August 26 "It is not in me." (Job 28:14.) 　ＩREMEMBER a summer in which I said, "It is the ocean I need," and I went to the ocean; but it seemed to say, "It is not in me!" The ocean did not do for me what I thought it would. Then I said, "The mountains will rest me," and I went to the mountains, and when I awoke in the morning there stood the grand mountain that I had wanted so much to see; but it said, "It is not in me!" It did not satisfy. Ah! I needed athe ocean of His love, and the high mountains of His truth within. It was wisdom that the "depths" said they did not contain, and that could not be compared with jewels or gold or precious stones. Christ is wisdom and our deepest need. Our restlessness within can only be met by the revelation of His eternal friendship and love for us. 　　　　　　　　　　─Margaret Bottome. "My heart is there! A long, long road I traveled night and day, And sought to find within myself some way, Aught I could do, or feel to bring me near; Self effort failed, and I was filled with fear, And then I found Christ was the only way, That I must come to Him and in Him stay, And God had told me so. And now "my Home is God," and sheltered there, God meets the trials of my earthly life, God compasses me round from storm and strife, God takes the burden of my daily care. O Wonderous Place! O Home divinely fair! And I, God's little one, safe hidden there. ■ 永活之泉（08月26日）

八月廿六日　仰望耶穌「存心忍耐，奔那擺在我們前頭的路程，仰望為我們信心創始成終的耶穌，祂因擺在前面的喜樂，就輕看羞辱，忍受了十字架的苦難。」希伯來書十二章1、2節參加賽跑的人，其眼和心必定要注視目標和獎品；而這裏指基督徒要熱心傚法耶穌，忍受十字架的苦楚。我們整個生命為祂接受十字架的犧牲所激勵，這是使祂從神得到榮耀的途徑；這是以身體裂開幔子為我們開一條又新又活的道路。因著背十字架，神將祂升到至高，這是我們熱切要學習的；我們要跟隨祂的腳蹤，將肉體定罪而治死於十字架上。教會所以軟弱，最大的原因是沒有傳講或實行耶穌背十字架的心志。很多基督徒認為只要不犯罪，他們就能盡情享受屬世的福樂；他們沒有深切去洞察有關世俗的真理。肉體因愛世界抵擋神，很多基督徒經年累月尋求並禱告，傚法耶穌的形像也就因此完全的失敗；他們並不知道，也不全心尋求去知道治死老我和世界。基督因擺在前面的喜樂就忍受十字架的苦──從父神得喜悅和尊榮的喜樂，再加上靈魂歸向祂的喜樂，我實在需要重新有熱忱的宣佈那神的旨意，也可說基督最喜悅的是：祂的子民從父神接受聖靈的充滿，忍受十字架的苦楚；也唯有在十字架與祂交通，才能成為神兒子的形像。當信徒明瞭這個有福的真理，轉臉仰望釘十字架的耶穌，他們就會接受由十字架產生領人歸向基督的能力。

八月廿六日　你曾煩亂不安麼？「我留下平安給你們，我將我的平安賜給你們。」約翰福音十四章27節有時我的平安是以無知為基礎，並不是真的平安，但於我們為生活的事實而喚醒時，這種平安就沒有了。不從耶穌有所領受，則內心的平安是不可能的。當我們的主說你們平安，就有平安來到，祂的話是「靈與生命」。我曾接受耶穌所說的話麼？「我將我的平安賜給你們」──這是一種由仰望祂，感覺祂安靜不擾而來的平安。你現在正在擾亂不安麼？神命定的波浪，變成你信仰的大石，你仍然尋不著平安，快樂，或慰藉的井；一切都是徒勞的麼？那麼，仰望領受主耶穌的寧靜吧！反映的平安，是證明你與神有正當的關係，因為你能自自由由將你的心趨向祂。如果你與神沒有正當的關係，你的心除了趨向你自己以外絕不能趨向別的地方。如果你許甚麼事使你看不見耶穌基督，你不是煩亂不安，便是假的安靜。你現在仰望耶穌，在緊迫的事上領受祂的平安麼？如果如此，祂就祝福你。但如果你想從煩悶中得到平安，那便是消滅了祂，是必然得不著平安的。我們煩亂不安，是因為我們沒有顧念祂。人以困難與耶穌基督商量，困難就解除了，因為祂沒有困難，我們應當罣慮的就是住在祂的裡面。在祂面前陳明一切，無論是困難，是喪失，是憂愁，必要聽見祂說──「你們心裡不要憂愁」。

八月廿六日「……婢女家中除了一瓶油之外，沒有甚麼。」列王記下四章2節以利沙問一個寡婦：「你家裡有什麼？」她說：「除了一瓶油之外，沒有甚麼。」然而只要她懂得如何運用這瓶油，這瓶油就能供給她一切的需要。這個故事讓我們學到，如果我們瞭解如何從聖靈那裡得著所需的一切，祂必能滿足我們的需要。那位寡婦只需要把空瓶子都拿出來，神就能使每個瓶子都裝滿。可見得那位寡婦所得之油的多少，乃在於她有多少個空瓶子。聖靈所能給我們的祝福，則也因我們能接受祂多少而受到限制。也因此當神要我們擁有更豐富的祝福時，祂往往只好藉著環境使我們有更大的需要來供應之。當我們有更多的需要、面臨更大的考驗時，神總是會給我們更多器皿，使我們能裝滿聖靈所賜的力量。神也藉著這些機會，讓我們更得著祂。而每一次當我們面臨一個新的需要時，祂總是給我們更多的祝福。主啊！在我們處於每一個艱難的情況當中時，幫助我們仰望您，使我們能把這些情況視為裝滿您恩典的器皿。
