1:2 願恩惠、平安從 神我們的父和主耶穌基督歸與你們！ Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 1:3 願頌讚歸與我們主耶穌基督的父 神！他在基督裏曾賜給我們天上各樣屬靈的福氣： Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. 1:4 就如 神從創立世界以前，在基督裏揀選了我們，使我們在他面前成為聖潔，無有瑕疵； For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love 1:5 又因愛我們，就按著自己意旨所喜悅的，預定我們藉著耶穌基督得兒子的名分， he(\f3 1:5 Or|i sight in love. \V 5 |iHe|d) predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will-- 1:6 使他榮耀的恩典得著稱讚；這恩典是他在愛子裏所賜給我們的。 to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves. 1:7 我們藉這愛子的血得蒙救贖，過犯得以赦免，乃是照他豐富的恩典。 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace 1:8 這恩典是 神用諸般智慧聰明，充充足足賞給我們的； that he lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding. 1:9 都是照他自己所預定的美意，叫我們知道他旨意的奧祕， And he(\f4 1:9 Or|i us. With all wisdom and understanding, \V 9 |ihe|d) made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ, 1:10 要照所安排的，在日期滿足的時候，使天上、地上、一切所有的都在基督裏面同歸於一。 0 to be put into effect when the times will have reached their fulfillment--to bring all things in heaven and on earth together under one head, even Christ. 1:11 我們也在他裏面得〔得：或譚成〕了基業；這原是那位隨己意行、做萬事的，照著他旨意所預定的， In him we were also chosen, (\f5 1:11 Or|i were made heirs|d) having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will, 1:12 叫他的榮耀從我們這首先在基督裏有盼望的人可以得著稱讚。 in order that we, who were the first to hope in Christ, might be for the praise of his glory. 1:13 你們既聽見真理的道，就是那叫你們得救的福音，也信了基督，既然信他，就受了所應許的聖靈為印記。 And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, 1:14 這聖靈是我們得基業的憑據〔原文是質〕，直等到 神之民〔民：原文是產業〕被贖，使他的榮耀得著稱讚。 who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession--to the praise of his glory. 1:15 因此，我既聽見你們信從主耶穌，親愛眾聖徒， For this reason, ever since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, 1:16 就為你們不住地感謝 神。禱告的時候，常提到你們， I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers. 1:17 求我們主耶穌基督的 神，榮耀的父，將那賜人智慧和啟示的靈賞給你們，使你們真知道他， I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit(\f6 1:17 Or|i a spirit|d) of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. 1:18 並且照明你們心中的眼睛，使你們知道他的恩召有何等指望，他在聖徒中得的基業有何等豐盛的榮耀； I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, 1:19 並知道他向我們這信的人所顯的能力是何等浩大， and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is like the working of his mighty strength, 1:20 就是照他在基督身上所運行的大能大力，使他從死裏復活，叫他在天上坐在自己的右邊， which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, 1:21 遠超過一切執政的、掌權的、有能的、主治的，和一切有名的；不但是今世的，連來世的也都超過了。 far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every title that can be given, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. 1:22 又將萬有服在他的腳下，使他為教會作萬有之首。 And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, 1:23 教會是他的身體，是那充滿萬有者所充滿的。 which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way. 二月廿一日 「你當默然倚靠耶和華，耐性等候祂。」詩篇卅七章7節 你有沒有禱告了又禱告，等候了又等候，而仍舊沒有效果呢？ 你看見沒有效果，覺得厭倦麼？你正想放棄麼？你或許要想你等候錯了。如果你這樣想，就會叫你離開正路——離開神所能遇見你的地方了。 「忍耐等候。」（羅八25）忍耐能挪去愁煩。若是主說祂要來，祂的應許就等於祂的同在。忍耐也能擦去你的眼淚。為甚麼難過沮喪呢？祂比你自己更知道你的需要，祂等候的目的，乃是要使你得到更榮耀、更豐富的祝福。忍耐也能挪去自己的工作。主所要求的工作乃是「信」（約六29），當你相信的時候，你就會知道一切都已經成功了。忍耐也能挪去一切的慾望，你切望得到你所要的慾望，也許遠勝過完成神的旨意。 忍耐也能挪去一切的軟弱。忍耐不是懶惰，也不是虛度光陰。你既知道神在預備更榮耀、更豐富的祝福給你，你自己也必須預備去接受。忍耐也能挪去一切的飄搖無定，「扶我站起來。」（但八18）神的根基是頂穩固的；我們有祂的忍耐在裏面，我們等候的時候也穩固了。忍耐有讚美和快樂。讚美的忍耐——「歡歡喜喜的忍耐」（西一11）——是最美麗的忍耐。「但願忍耐成功。」（雅一4，直譯）叫我們在等候中得到神豐富的恩典。 ─C.H.P 火焰燃燒在你胸中， 正是領受內心教訓的時候， 要把握得住， 不再怔忡， 捨此別無瞻顧， 忍耐必獲成功。 ─L.S.P.

February 21 "Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him."(Psalm 37:7.) ＨAVE you prayed and prayed and waited and waited, and still there is no manifestation? Are you tired of seeing nothing move? Are you just at the point of giving it all up? Perhaps you have not waited in the right way? This would take you out of the right place─the place where he can meet you. "With patience wait" (Rom. 8:25). Patience takes away worry. He said He would come, and His promise is equal to His presence. Patience takes away your weeping. Why feel sad and despondent? He knows your need better than you do, and His purpose in waiting is to bring more glory out of it all. Patience takes away self-works. The work He desires is that you "believe" (John 6:29), and when you believe, you may then know that all is well. Patience takes away all want. Your desire for the thing you wish is perhaps stronger than your desire for the will of God to be fulfilled in its arrival. Patience takes away all weakening. Instead of having the delaying time, a time of letting go, know that God is getting a larger supply ready and must get you ready too. Patience takes away all wobbling. "Make me stand upon my standing" (Daniel 8:18, margin). God's foundations are steady; and when His patience is within, we are steady while we wait. Patience gives worship. A praiseful patience sometimes "long-suffering with joyfulness" (Col. 1:11) is the best part of it all. "Let (all these phases of) patience have her perfect work" (James 1:4), while you wait, and you will find great enrichment. ─C. H. P. 二月廿一日 神的聖潔（舊約） 「你們要聖潔，因為我是聖潔的，我是叫你們成聖的耶和華。」利未記十一章45節，十九章2節，廿章7—8節，廿一章8、15、23節，廿二章9、16節。 在利未記裡，這些話反覆述說了有九次之多。以色列人學習認識聖潔是神最高最榮耀的性情，所以祂子民也必須有這些特性。凡誠心要正確地認識神，在隱密處與祂相交的人，必須追求聖潔，因為祂是聖潔的。那來到神面前的祭司，必須分別出來，過一個聖潔的生活。 先知以賽亞也說，我看見主坐在高高的寶座上，撒拉弗彼此呼喊說：「聖哉，聖哉，聖哉，萬軍之耶和華。」（賽六3）這是在極深的敬畏中俯伏敬拜的聲音。 那時我說：「禍哉，我滅亡了，因我眼見大君王萬軍之耶和華。」這是一個破碎痛悔的心所發出來的呼聲。然後，有一撒拉弗用從壇上取下來的紅炭，沾他的口，說：「看哪，這炭沾了你的嘴，你的罪孽便除掉，你的罪惡就赦免了。」這是恩典和全備救贖的聲音。 之後，神說：「我可以差遣誰呢？」那樂意的心回答說：「我在這裡，請差遣我！」帶著聖潔的敬畏停在這裡，求神啟示祂自己是聖者。「那至高至上，住在永遠，名為聖潔者的如此說：『我住在至高至聖的所在，也與心靈痛悔謙卑的人同居。』」（賽五十七15）要安靜在神偉大的榮耀和極深的謙卑中，敬拜祂、願意住在我們裡面，與我們同住。 神的兒女，如果你要在隱密處遇見天父，你就要在祂聖潔的榮耀裡，低頭俯伏敬拜祂。給祂時間來向你啟示祂自己。認識神是至聖的，是一個不可言喻的恩典。「你們要聖潔，因為我耶和華你們的神是聖潔的。」「聖哉，聖哉，聖哉，萬軍之耶和華。」「以聖潔為裝飾敬拜耶和華。」「願主，我們神的榮美歸於我們身上。」（詩九十17）

二月廿一日 你曾為祂的緣故，不顧一切麼？ 「她在我身上作的是一件美事。」馬可福音十四章6節 如果人類的愛不能使一個人超出自己本身，那就不是愛了。如果愛總是慎重，聰慧，總是敏於計算，從不令人驚心動魄，那也不全是愛了。那也許是情感，也許是情熱，但沒有愛的真質在裡面。 我曾不顧一切的去替神作事，不是因為那是我的本分，不是因為那件事有用，也不是因為於我愛祂以外別有所圖麼？我能把神認為有價值的事獻在神之前麼？或是我在祂無量的救贖裡玩忽歲月，而不乘時做一番事業呢？算為奇偉的，不是神聖偉大的事。卻是證明我是屬祂的那些最平凡的事算為奇偉。我曾使主耶穌的心裡發生伯大尼的馬利亞所引起的感想麼？ 有時神似乎是等候我們現出怎樣熱烈愛祂的標幟。熱烈的愛神比打算自己的純潔還有價值。自身的純潔是集中目標在我們自己的純潔上；我們極關心我們視聽言動的姿態，唯恐我們觸犯祂。如果我們一旦順服神，獲取了完全的愛，那一切就不算甚麼了。我們應當拋棄這種思想──「我有用處麼？」認定我們是沒有用的，那麼，我們或者近乎真理了。因為這絕不是有用無用的問題，卻是對於神自身價值的問題。我們擺脫一切而順服神，祂就隨時藉著我們工作起來。

二月廿一日 「……不要驚惶，因為我是你的神。」以賽亞書四十一章10節 當我們的懼怕時，神的安慰是何等溫柔啊！祂甜美地說：「因為我耶和華──你的神必攙扶你的右手，對你說：不要害怕！我必幫助你。」(賽四一13)祂不只說了一次，並且攙扶我們的右手，重複好幾回這個應許。 神聖的主藉著祂對加利利海邊的門徒所說的：「是我，不要怕。」(約六20)把許多鼓舞的話濃縮成一個永遠能安慰的信息。祂確是懼怕的解藥、苦惱的補救，因為祂乃是救恩的泉源。所以我們應該不再懼怕，定睛在祂的身上，繼續地住在祂裡面，並以祂為滿足。 讓我們緊緊地靠著祂，並且說：「所以，地雖改變，山雖搖動到海心，……我們也不害怕。」(詩四六2—3)
