1:1 猶大王約雅敬在位第三年,巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒來到耶路撒冷,將城圍困。 In the third year of the reign of Jehoiakim king of Judah, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came to Jerusalem and besieged it.
1:2 主將猶大王約雅敬,並 神殿中器皿的幾分交付他手。他就把這器皿帶到示拿地,收入他神的廟裏,放在他神的庫中。 And the Lord delivered Jehoiakim king of Judah into his hand, along with some of the articles from the temple of God. These he carried off to the temple of his god in Babylonia 1:2 Hebrew ((Shinar)) and put in the treasure house of his god. 1:3 王吩咐太監長亞施毗拿,從以色列人的宗室和貴冑中帶進幾個人來, Then the king ordered Ashpenaz, chief of his court officials, to bring in some of the Israelites from the royal family and the nobility-- 1:4 就是年少沒有殘疾、相貌俊美、通達各樣學問、知識聰明俱備、足能侍立在王宮裏的,要教他們迦勒底的文字言語。 young men without any physical defect, handsome, showing aptitude for every kind of learning, well informed, quick to understand, and qualified to serve in the king's palace. He was to teach them the language and literature of the Babylonians. 1:4 Or ((Chaldeans)) 1:5 王派定將自己所用的膳和所飲的酒,每日賜他們一分,養他們三年。滿了三年,好叫他們在王面前侍立。 The king assigned them a daily amount of food and wine from the king's table. They were to be trained for three years, and after that they were to enter the king's service. 1:6 他們中間有猶大族的人:但以理、哈拿尼雅、米沙利、亞撒利雅。 Among these were some from Judah: Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah. 1:7 太監長給他們起名:稱但以理為伯提沙撒,稱哈拿尼雅為沙得拉,稱米沙利為米煞,稱亞撒利雅為亞伯尼歌。 The chief official gave them new names: to Daniel, the name Belteshazzar; to Hananiah, Shadrach; to Mishael, Meshach; and to Azariah, Abednego. 1:8 但以理卻立志不以王的膳和王所飲的酒玷污自己,所以求太監長容他不玷污自己。 But Daniel resolved not to defile himself with the royal food and wine, and he asked the chief official for permission not to defile himself this way. 1:9 神使但以理在太監長眼前蒙恩惠,受憐憫。 Now God had caused the official to show favor and sympathy to Daniel, 1:10 太監長對但以理說:「我懼怕我主我王,他已經派定你們的飲食;倘若他見你們的面貌比你們同歲的少年人肌瘦,怎麼好呢?這樣,你們就使我的頭在王那裏難保。」 but the official told Daniel, <<I am afraid of my lord the king, who has assigned your 1:10 The Hebrew for ((your)) and ((you)) in this verse is plural. food and drink. Why should he see you looking worse than the other young men your age? The king would then have my head because of you.>> 1:11 但以理對太監長所派管理但以理、哈拿尼雅、米沙利、亞撒利雅的委辦說: Daniel then said to the guard whom the chief official had appointed over Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah, 1:12 「求你試試僕人們十天,給我們素菜吃,白水喝, <<Please test your servants for ten days: Give us nothing but vegetables to eat and water to drink. 1:13 然後看看我們的面貌和用王膳那少年人的面貌,就照你所看的待僕人吧!」 Then compare our appearance with that of the young men who eat the royal food, and treat your servants in accordance with what you see.>> 1:14 委辦便允准他們這件事,試看他們十天。 So he agreed to this and tested them for ten days. 1:15 過了十天,見他們的面貌比用王膳的一切少年人更加俊美肥胖。 At the end of the ten days they looked healthier and better nourished than any of the young men who ate the royal food. 1:16 於是委辦撤去派他們用的膳,飲的酒,給他們素菜吃。 So the guard took away their choice food and the wine they were to drink and gave them vegetables instead. 1:17 這四個少年人, 神在各樣文字學問〔學問:原文是智慧〕上賜給他們聰明知識;但以理又明白各樣的異象和夢兆。 To these four young men God gave knowledge and understanding of all kinds of literature and learning. 七月六日 「我們也不知道怎樣行,我們的眼目,單仰望你。」歷代志下廿章12節 以色列人中因為未奉神命,輕易用人手去扶住約櫃,以致遭了擊殺。雖然他去扶的目的頂好─—為著要按住約櫃的震動—─但是他的僭越使他喪失了生命。 信心的生活是怎樣的生活呢?就是自己一點不管,讓神去負全責。 如果我們已經將一件事情完全交託了神,我們自己就不該再去顧問;全能的神難道還需要我們的幫助嗎?祂所作的難道還不及我們嗎?詩篇卅七篇7節說:「你當默然倚靠耶和華,耐性等候祂。不要因那道路通達的,和那惡謀成就的,心懷不平。」 也許你看見事情越過越糟了,但是我們既知道,神那裏會不知道呢?如果我們真心完全託付祂,讓祂按照祂自己的方法和時間去成就,祂一定會在適當的時間起來的。在許多事情上,我們能完全不動,真是莫大的幫助;反之,如果我們自己仍不息地工作著,卻是一個極大的阻礙。 ─宣信 當感到迷惑煩惱, 我說: 「主,請你替我們把事情弄好! 對於你,陰暗等於光明, 黑夜猶如白日杲杲。 我怕接觸這些事情, 含有如許糾纏和騷擾, 我無力的手可能發抖, 你決不會錯,準把事情弄好」。 當到感到迷惑不決, 我說: 「主,請你明白吩咐; 那一條路將有收穫, 那一條路安全無誤? 我的智慧看不清路途, 也沒有把握舉步, 主啊,你既瞭如指掌, 也使我清楚,不會弄錯」。 把一團亂麻的人生,交到神的手裡,讓祂去處理,豈不是無上的安慰。

July 6 "Neither know we what to do; but our eyes are upon thee." (2 Chron. 20:12.) A LIFE was lost in Israel because a pair of human hands were laid unbidden upon the ark of God. They were placed upon it with the best intent, to steady it when trembling and shaking as the oxen drew it along the rough way; but they touched God's work presumptuously, and they fell paralyzed and lifeless. Much of the life of faith consists in letting things alone. If we wholly trust an interest to God, we must keep our hands off it; and He will guard it for us better than we can help Him. "Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass." Things may seem to be going all wrong, but He knows as well as we; and he will arise in the right moment if we are really trusting Him so fully as to let Him work in His own way and time. There is nothing so masterly as inactivity in some things, and there is nothing so hurtful as restless working, for God has undertaken to work His sovereign will. ─A. B. Simpson. I am afraid to touch things that involve so much; My trembling hand may shake, My skilless hand may break; Thine can make no mistake.' "Being in doubt i say, `Lord, make it plain; Which is the true, safe way? Which would be gain? I am not wise to know, Nor sure of foot to go; What is so clear to Thee, Lord, make it clear to me!' " It is such a comfort to drop the tangles of life into God's hands and leave them there.

七月六日 永遠同在的生命 「父要另外賜給你們一位保惠師,叫他永遠與你們同在……因他常與你們同在,也要在你們裏面。」約翰福音十四章16、17節 我們通常想到主耶穌內住的應許,因基督清清楚楚地說:「你們要常在我裏面,我也常在你們裏面。」「常在我的愛裏。」(約十五章)這些「常在」、內住之意的應許,為聖靈在我們心中證明及實現。我們再看一次這段經文,基督內住在我們心裏,我們在祂裏面——「你們在我裏面,我也在你們裏面」——一同依靠在聖靈的內住,所以我們領悟聖靈永遠內住是最重要的課題。 我們唯一能做的,就是每天在永遠內住的聖靈裏,藉著更新、無罪的信心來朝見神,這位保惠師是當耶穌無法以肉身與門徒同在時來遞補祂的地位,在任何時候以屬天的安慰來安慰我們。藉著聖靈,耶穌住在我們心裏,賜給我們生活有力量,教導我們使我們靠祂行事;這是屬於我們的應許。自然我們天天在基督裏與神親近,如此就能重新得力,去影響並賜福別人。 哦!我的弟兄!把今天獻給三而一的神,花時間去敬拜父神和基督,把自己完全交託給聖靈,讓他管理,讓祂在你身上完成那大工,使基督內住在你裏面。

七月六日 異象與真實 「乾渴之地,要變為泉源。」以賽亞書卅五章7節 異象是事件未有實現之前而有的,雖然我們感覺得異象是真實的,而它未在我們身上成為真實,撒但還得要來試探我們說,這個異象是不能成為事實的。不但異象未變成真實,反而陷於失敗於悲慘。 生命不像露出土面的礦石, 是從地心掘出來的生鐵, 因命運之坎坷的錘打, 變成熟鐵以致用。 神給與我們異象,而後領我們下到谷中,把我們錘合異象之形。惟其我們陷入了深谷,因此我們之中有許多人灰心而喪志。如果我們具有忍耐之心,無論甚麼異象都得以實現。想想神的閒暇悠餘!祂從不慌忙。我們總是慌忙的,我們要藉著異象的光榮,出去工作。但是異象在我們裡頭還未實現;神要領我們到深谷之中,使我們經過水火,錘成物形,直到我們達到祂能將真實交託我們的地步。自我們有異象以來,神曾經工作過,把我們造成理想的物形,但是我們屢想逃出祂的掌握,把自己錘成自己所喜歡的樣式。 異象不是空洞的幻象,是神要你達到的理想。惟願你讓神將你放在祂的模型之中,隨祂的意思轉動你,把你鑄成異象一樣的模形,可是在過程中,不要喪膽,如果你曾見過神的異象,必樂於在較低的平線上求滿足,可是神絕不許你如此。

七月六日 「若是一家的人太少,喫不了一隻羊羔,本人就要和他隔壁的鄰舍共取一隻……要按著人數……計算。」出埃及記十二章4節 「若是一家的人太少,喫不了一隻羊羔。」這對我們這些已經得贖的人來說,有什麼意義呢?這表示我們沒有權利獨佔救主的寶血。而如果我們自私、不誠實、不感恩;只滿足於已有的救恩,卻不為失去永生的靈魂著想,那麼我們就有罪了。我們是否已經瞭解這個真理,是否能與他人分享主耶穌——我們的代罪羔羊? 到底哪些人是我們應該分享神羔羊的鄰居呢?經上是說隔壁的鄰居,也就是與我們接觸最多的人。有時神會讓我們遇到某些人,為要使我們成為祂恩典的管家。所以我們家中的親人、旅行的夥伴、社交圈子裡的朋友以及同事,都是我們的鄰居,我們對他們都有屬靈的責任。試問:我們是否已經盡心竭力了呢? 主啊!您既然愛我, 又為我這個罪人釘死, 我真應該為那些失喪的靈魂多想想。 只要是為您的緣故,我願作福音的使者。
