1:1 猶大王約雅敬在位第三年,巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒來到耶路撒冷,將城圍困。 In the third year of the reign of Jehoiakim king of Judah, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came to Jerusalem and besieged it.
1:2 主將猶大王約雅敬,並 神殿中器皿的幾分交付他手。他就把這器皿帶到示拿地,收入他神的廟裏,放在他神的庫中。 And the Lord delivered Jehoiakim king of Judah into his hand, along with some of the articles from the temple of God. These he carried off to the temple of his god in Babylonia 1:2 Hebrew ((Shinar)) and put in the treasure house of his god. 1:3 王吩咐太監長亞施毗拿,從以色列人的宗室和貴冑中帶進幾個人來, Then the king ordered Ashpenaz, chief of his court officials, to bring in some of the Israelites from the royal family and the nobility-- 1:4 就是年少沒有殘疾、相貌俊美、通達各樣學問、知識聰明俱備、足能侍立在王宮裏的,要教他們迦勒底的文字言語。 young men without any physical defect, handsome, showing aptitude for every kind of learning, well informed, quick to understand, and qualified to serve in the king's palace. He was to teach them the language and literature of the Babylonians. 1:4 Or ((Chaldeans)) 1:5 王派定將自己所用的膳和所飲的酒,每日賜他們一分,養他們三年。滿了三年,好叫他們在王面前侍立。 The king assigned them a daily amount of food and wine from the king's table. They were to be trained for three years, and after that they were to enter the king's service. 1:6 他們中間有猶大族的人:但以理、哈拿尼雅、米沙利、亞撒利雅。 Among these were some from Judah: Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah. 1:7 太監長給他們起名:稱但以理為伯提沙撒,稱哈拿尼雅為沙得拉,稱米沙利為米煞,稱亞撒利雅為亞伯尼歌。 The chief official gave them new names: to Daniel, the name Belteshazzar; to Hananiah, Shadrach; to Mishael, Meshach; and to Azariah, Abednego. 1:8 但以理卻立志不以王的膳和王所飲的酒玷污自己,所以求太監長容他不玷污自己。 But Daniel resolved not to defile himself with the royal food and wine, and he asked the chief official for permission not to defile himself this way. 1:9 神使但以理在太監長眼前蒙恩惠,受憐憫。 Now God had caused the official to show favor and sympathy to Daniel, 1:10 太監長對但以理說:「我懼怕我主我王,他已經派定你們的飲食;倘若他見你們的面貌比你們同歲的少年人肌瘦,怎麼好呢?這樣,你們就使我的頭在王那裏難保。」 but the official told Daniel, <<I am afraid of my lord the king, who has assigned your 1:10 The Hebrew for ((your)) and ((you)) in this verse is plural. food and drink. Why should he see you looking worse than the other young men your age? The king would then have my head because of you.>> 1:11 但以理對太監長所派管理但以理、哈拿尼雅、米沙利、亞撒利雅的委辦說: Daniel then said to the guard whom the chief official had appointed over Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah, 1:12 「求你試試僕人們十天,給我們素菜吃,白水喝, <<Please test your servants for ten days: Give us nothing but vegetables to eat and water to drink. 1:13 然後看看我們的面貌和用王膳那少年人的面貌,就照你所看的待僕人吧!」 Then compare our appearance with that of the young men who eat the royal food, and treat your servants in accordance with what you see.>> 1:14 委辦便允准他們這件事,試看他們十天。 So he agreed to this and tested them for ten days. 1:15 過了十天,見他們的面貌比用王膳的一切少年人更加俊美肥胖。 At the end of the ten days they looked healthier and better nourished than any of the young men who ate the royal food. 1:16 於是委辦撤去派他們用的膳,飲的酒,給他們素菜吃。 So the guard took away their choice food and the wine they were to drink and gave them vegetables instead. 1:17 這四個少年人, 神在各樣文字學問〔學問:原文是智慧〕上賜給他們聰明知識;但以理又明白各樣的異象和夢兆。 To these four young men God gave knowledge and understanding of all kinds of literature and learning. And Daniel could understand visions and dreams of all kinds. 1:18 尼布甲尼撒王預定帶進少年人來的日期滿了,太監長就把他們帶到王面前。 At the end of the time set by the king to bring them in, the chief official presented them to Nebuchadnezzar. 1:19 王與他們談論,見少年人中無一人能比但以理、哈拿尼雅、米沙利、亞撒利雅,所以留他們在王面前侍立。 The king talked with them, and he found none equal to Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah; so they entered the king's service. 1:20 王考問他們一切事,就見他們的智慧聰明比通國的術士和用法術的勝過十倍。 In every matter of wisdom and understanding about which the king questioned them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and enchanters in his whole kingdom. 1:21 到塞魯士王元年,但以理還在。 And Daniel remained there until the first year of King Cyrus. 四月八日 「我為基督的緣故,就以軟弱、急難、凌辱、逼迫、困苦,為可喜樂的。因我甚麼時候軟弱,甚麼時候就剛強了。」哥林多後書十二章10節 若是把這一節聖經直譯出來,是非常有力的。直譯該是:「我為基督的緣故,就是沒有力量、被人侮辱、受折磨、被追趕、關入絕境,還是喜樂的,因我甚麼時候沒有力量,甚麼時候就像炸藥一般猛烈。」 這是得神彀用恩典的祕訣:就是承認我們自己的環境和一切都已完了。當我們到了這種境地的時候.我們就不會再去求人的同情了。所以所有的患難、痛苦,都是我們得祝福的條件,我們可以藉此向神有所要求。 ─宣信 蘇格蘭(Scotland)的盲目佈道家馬得勝(George Matheson)說:「我的神啊,我從來沒有為我的遭遇感謝過您。我曾為我的玫瑰花感謝您過一千次,卻沒有為我的剌感謝過您一次。我一直注目仰望那個因背十字架而得的獎賞,卻從來沒有想到十字架本身就是現在榮耀的獎賞。 「求您給我知道十字架的榮耀;求您給我知道剌的價值。求您給我看見痛的路徑是到您那裏去的梯級;求您給我看見我的眼淚是築成虹彩的材料。」 「未見穿過柏樹的星光, 將是人生莫大的悲傷」。

April 8 "Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong."(2 Cor. 12:10.) THE literal translation of this verse gives a startling emphasis to it, and makes it speak for itself with a force that we have probably never realized. Here it is: "Therefore I take pleasure in being without strength, in insults, in being pinched, in being chased about, in being cooped up in a corner for Christ's sake; for when I am without strength, then am I dynamite." Here is the secret of Divine all-sufficiency, to come to the end of everything in ourselves and in our circumstances. when we reach this place, we will stop asking for sympathy because of our hard situation or bad treatment, for we will recognize these things as the very conditions of our blessing, and we will turn from them to God and find in them a claim upon Him. ─A. 四月八日 新約與禱告 「你求告我,我就應允你,並將你所不知道,又大又難的事,指示你。」耶利米書卅三章3節 「我耶和華說過,也必成就。……他們必為這事向我求問,我要給他們成就。」以西結書卅六章36—37節 在新約中那些偉大應許的得以成全,是在於禱告。神垂聽耶利米的禱告時說:「且使他們有敬畏我的心,不離開我。」祂曾對以西結說:「使他們順從我的律例,謹守遵行我的典章。」對於我們,因著我們的不信,並且按照人的思想和經歷來判斷神話語的意義,所以就不能盼望這些應許真正的應驗。我們不相信神真是要使這些應許成為事實,因為我們不相信神的大能;而神的大能是等待著,要使祂的應許在我們的經歷中成為真實。 神已經說過,若沒有這樣的心,我們的經歷就成為非常局部的,而且非常有限。祂曾親切地指出,尋得這樣信心的途徑,就是要有更多的禱告。「你求告我,我就應允你,並將你所不知道、又大又難的事,指示你。」「他們必為這事向我求問,我要給他們成就。」這乃是當每一個信祂的子民,全心轉向神,並祈求要得著這些應許時,祂才來成全。只有我們運用熱烈而堅忍的禱告時,信心才得以加強;並使我們能抓住神,且降服於祂全能的工作。然後當一個個信徒都能見證神所已經作的,以及祂將要作的是什麼的時候;信徒們才會彼此幫助,並取得了活神之教會的地位;並且一直懇求或堅定地盼望,使祂的應許能在更大的度量中實現,並成為一種新的裝備,為著那個偉大的工作,就是對將亡的人們來傳講基督豐滿的救贖。 教會的光景,我們服事的人和肢體們的光景,以及我們自己的光景,都呼召我們要不住的禱告。我們需要迫切的、不斷的禱告,使他們深深感覺到需要聖靈的能力,並使許多人心中激起一個強烈的信心,從神那裏求得祂大能的工作。 「我耶和華說過,也必成就。」「主阿,我信,但我信不足,求主幫助。」

四月八日 祂復活的目的 「基督這樣受害,又進入祂的榮耀,豈不是應當的麼?」路加福音廿四章26節 我們的主的十字架,是進入祂生命的大路。祂復活的意思是祂現在具有權柄,把祂的生命傳給我。當我從上面重生的時候,我就從復活的主領受祂的生命。 我們的主復活的目的,是要領「許多的兒子進榮耀裡去。」(希二10)因為完成了祂的目的,所以祂才得著權柄,叫我們作神的兒女。我們從沒有與神發生關係,像神的兒子所發生的關係;但是我們是被兒子把我們帶進兒子的關係中。當我們的主從死復活的時候,祂就升到一種絕對的新生命,那生命是祂具有肉身的時期所未生活過的。祂升到以前從未生活過的一種生命。而祂復活的意思,對於我們,是象徵我們也要升到復活的新生命,不是升到我們的舊生命。將有一天,我們必然得著一種身體「像祂榮耀的身體一樣」,但是我們現在知道祂復活的效力,也能行在新的生命中。「我要知道祂復活的大能。」 「您曾賜給祂制服肉體的權柄,好叫祂賜永生給您所交給祂的人們。」聖靈是永遠的生命,此時此地在人類裡面工作,是人類所能體驗的名稱。聖靈是具有進行能力的神,祂將救贖,應用到我們的經驗上。感謝神,如果我們肯順服聖靈,祂能將耶穌的本性,栽培在我們裡面,這是多麼偉大多麼尊榮啊!

四月八日 「喜樂的心乃是良藥……」箴言十七章22節 所羅門王為那些生病和悲痛的心靈留下了他充滿智慧的話語,我們能安然地接納這個真理。喜樂的心的確是良藥,因為喜樂不僅能使人健康復原,更像良醫。當一切滋補品失去作用時,當一切鎮靜劑無法使我們安靜時,惟有靈裡的喜樂能讓我們重新拾回健康,擁有充沛的腦力。 你正在病中嗎?如果你開始在主裡靠祂喜樂起來,那麼你的筋骨會像植物一樣充滿活力,臉上更會散發出健康和生氣的光輝。一切的憂慮、恐懼、多疑和操心都是毒藥;然而,只要我們喜樂起來,神會給我們能力,因為喜樂是止痛的香膏,且能醫治。事實上,神已下命令要我們凡事喜樂。而只要我們遵照祂的命令,神不會不照顧祂的子民的。祂曾說:「你們要靠主常常喜樂……」。(腓四4)這表示無論我們多悲傷、多麼受誘惑困擾、或是在任何苦難中,都應該靠著主,從此刻起隨時隨處都喜樂。 在主裡的喜樂是我們生命中的力量, 耶穌所賜的喜樂是全然的止痛劑, 因祂的生命和豐富是我們醫治的泉源, 祂的喜樂是我們身體和心靈的萬靈藥。
