阿摩司書, 1章

^1:1 當猶大王烏西雅，以色列王約阿施的兒子耶羅波安在位的時候，大地震前二年，提哥亞牧人中的阿摩司得默示論以色列。 The words of Amos, one of the shepherds of Tekoa--what he saw concerning Israel two years before the earthquake, when Uzziah was king of Judah and Jeroboam son of Jehoash \f 1:1 Hebrew ((Joash,)) a variant of ((Jehoash))\F was king of Israel.
^1:2 他說：耶和華必從錫安吼叫，從耶路撒冷發聲；牧人的草場要悲哀；迦密的山頂要枯乾。 He said: <<The LORD roars from Zion and thunders from Jerusalem; the pastures of the shepherds dry up, \f 1:2 Or ((shepherds mourn))\F and the top of Carmel withers.>>
^1:3 耶和華如此說：大馬士革三番四次地犯罪，我必不免去她的刑罰；因為她以打糧食的鐵器打過基列。 This is what the LORD says: <<For three sins of Damascus, even for four, I will not turn back (((my wrath))). Because she threshed Gilead with sledges having iron teeth,
^1:4 我卻要降火在哈薛的家中，燒滅便哈達的宮殿。 I will send fire upon the house of Hazael that will consume the fortresses of Ben-Hadad.
^1:5 我必折斷大馬士革的門閂，剪除亞文平原的居民和伯‧伊甸掌權的。亞蘭人必被擄到吉珥。這是耶和華說的。 I will break down the gate of Damascus; I will destroy the king who is in \f 1:5 Or ((the inhabitants of))\F the Valley of Aven \f 1:5 ((Aven)) means ((wickedness.))\F and the one who holds the scepter in Beth Eden. The people of Aram will go into exile to Kir,>> r says the LORD.
^1:6 耶和華如此說：迦薩三番四次地犯罪，我必不免去她的刑罰；因為她擄掠眾民交給以東。 This is what the LORD says: <<For three sins of Gaza, even for four, I will not turn back (((my wrath))). Because she took captive whole communities and sold them to Edom,
^1:7 我卻要降火在迦薩的城內，燒滅其中的宮殿。 I will send fire upon the walls of Gaza that will consume her fortresses.
^1:8 我必剪除亞實突的居民和亞實基倫掌權的，也必反手攻擊以革倫。非利士人所餘剩的必都滅亡。這是主耶和華說的。 I will destroy the king \f 1:8 Or ((inhabitants))\F of Ashdod and the one who holds the scepter in Ashkelon. I will turn my hand against Ekron, till the last of the Philistines is dead,>> r says the Sovereign LORD.
^1:9 耶和華如此說：泰爾三番四次地犯罪，我必不免去她的刑罰；因為她將眾民交給以東，並不記念弟兄的盟約。 This is what the LORD says: <<For three sins of Tyre, even for four, I will not turn back (((my wrath))). Because she sold whole communities of captives to Edom, disregarding a treaty of brotherhood,
^1:10 我卻要降火在泰爾的城內，燒滅其中的宮殿。 I will send fire upon the walls of Tyre that will consume her fortresses.>>
^1:11 耶和華如此說：以東三番四次地犯罪，我必不免去她的刑罰；因為她拿刀追趕兄弟，毫無憐憫，發怒撕裂，永懷忿怒。 This is what the LORD says: <<For three sins of Edom, even for four, I will not turn back (((my wrath))). Because he pursued his brother with a sword, stifling all compassion, \f 1:11 Or ((sword / and destroyed his allies))\F because his anger raged continually and his fury flamed unchecked,
^1:12 我卻要降火在提幔，燒滅波斯拉的宮殿。 I will send fire upon Teman that will consume the fortresses of Bozrah.>>
^1:13 耶和華如此說：亞捫人三番四次地犯罪，我必不免去他們的刑罰；因為他們剖開基列的孕婦，擴張自己的境界。 This is what the LORD says: <<For three sins of Ammon, even for four, I will not turn back (((my wrath))). Because he ripped open the pregnant women of Gilead in order to extend his borders,
^1:14 我卻要在爭戰吶喊的日子，旋風狂暴的時候，點火在拉巴的城內，燒滅其中的宮殿。 I will set fire to the walls of Rabbah that will consume her fortresses amid war cries on the day of battle, amid violent winds on a stormy day.
^1:15 他們的王和首領必一同被擄去。這是耶和華說的。 Her king \f 1:15 Or / ((Molech)); Hebrew ((malcam))\F will go into exile, he and his officials together,>> r says the LORD.

六月十六日「我的盼望是從祂而來。」詩篇六二篇5節我們禱告了以後，常不關心神的答應有否來到，這就表明我們的禱告並不誠懇。農夫的注意力集中於收穫；醫生的注意力集中於藥的功效；討錢的兒子的注意力集中於父母的應許；一個禱告的基督人豈可漠然不關心神的答應呢？基督徒每一次的禱告，若有信心，符合神的旨意和應許，奉主名祈求，沒有不被神答應的。神答應我們的禱告，有兩個分不開的目的：榮耀自己的名和祝福祂的兒女。當初人到主面前來求憐憫，祂從未拒絕過；今天奉祂的名到神前來，也決不會被拒絕的。禱告的答應或許就要來了，雖然我們看不見它的來到。種子埋在土中抽根，在上面看來，一點沒有動靜，好似死了一般。　　　　　　　　　　─別克司蒂禱告的答應耽延，不單是信心的試煉，也是我們用堅信來尊重神的機會。　　　　　　　　　　─司布真

June 16 "My expectation is from him." (Psalm 62:5.) 　ＯUR too general neglect of looking for answers to what we ask, shows how little we are in earnest in our petitions. A husbandman is not content without the harvest; a marksman will observe whether the ball hits the target; a physician watches the effect of the medicine which he gives; and shall the Christian be careless about the effect of his labor? 　Every prayer of the Christian, made in faith, according to the will of God, for which God has promised, offered up in the name of Jesus Christ, and under the influence of the Spirit, whether for temporal or for spiritual blessings, is, or will be, fully answered. 　God always answers the general design and intention of His people's prayers, in doing that which, all things considered, is most for His own glory and their spiritual and enternal welfare. As we never find that Jesus Christ rejected a single supplicant who came to Him for mercy, so we believe that no prayer made in His name will be in vain. 　The answer to prayer may be approaching, though we discern not its coming. The seed that lies under ground in winter is taking root in order to a spring and harvest, though it appears not above ground, but seems dead and lost. 　　　　　　　　　　─Bickersteth. 　Delayed answers to prayer are not only trials of faith, but they give us opportunities of honoring God by our steadfast confidence in Him under apparent repulses. 　　　　　　　　　　─C. ■ 永活之泉（06月16日）

六月十六日　與主面對面「我面對面見了神，我的性命仍得保全。」創世記卅二章30節這段話是雅各改名以色列（神的王子之意）後說的，我們可看出他在用禱告的措辭，這段話指出於每一個屬神的孩子，每天藉著神的恩典和聖靈的能力所能經歷的，神要用祂的臉光照我們，我們可以面對面看見祂，並且反射祂的榮光。不知道有多少基督徒埋怨他們太少在禱告中經歷與神相見，感覺神的面光照在他們身上；他們盡力去做但似乎都不見效果，內心的想法使他們自責和羞恥，他們幾乎不能勝過失望的感覺。親愛的神之孩子們：我所帶給你的信息是你在天上的父不單願意，而且渴望將祂的面光照在你身上，也許本章能幫助你，給你確信，假如你能找出為什麼不能藉著禱告面對面遇到神，就知道你需要什麼，使你的心靈成為真正的毘努伊勒。你能遇見神，看到祂的容貌，感覺到祂的愛射到你的身上，這是何等確實而有福。開始用這樣話來禱告：「神阿！求您使我們回轉，使您的臉發光，我們便要得救。」（詩八十19）並且默想其中的含義，堅信你能經歷這節經文的大能和真實！然後你能像雅各那樣說：「我面對面見了神，我的性命仍得保存。」記得雅各如何得到到這個結果，他必須學會說：「你不給我祝福，我就不容你走。」必需不斷的禱告才能使一個靈魂堅信神要真正顯示祂自己。

六月十六日　你如何對付這個問題呢？「人為朋友捨命，人的愛心沒有比這個大的……我乃稱你們為朋友。」約翰福音十五章13、15節耶穌不要求我為祂死去，卻要求我為祂捨命。彼得說──「我要為您的緣故捨命」，他所說的是真話；這種英勇的氣度是可稱許的。不能發表彼得的這種言論，那是可恥的；因我們本分的感覺只有藉著我們英勇的感覺才能表現。主曾問過你──「你肯為我的緣故捨命」這句話麼？一次的死是比每日的犧牲容易得多。我們生來不是享受光榮時光的，可是我們要藉著它們的光來行我們平常的路程。耶穌生平只有一次光榮的時光，就是山上變形的時光，可是祂第二次拋棄了祂的光榮，下到那鬼附著的山谷，遵行祂父的旨意，犧牲之長卻有卅三年之久，約翰也說──「我們應當為弟兄捨命」。這是反乎人性的，是人所難履行的。如果我是耶穌的朋友，便當自願的為祂捨命。這是不易，惟其不易，所以要感謝神。救恩是易得的，因為神所付的代價多，但是彰顯在我生命中，卻不是易事。神救一個人，又賜聖靈給他，然後說──「行出來吧，雖你四周的事物都在摧殘你的忠心，還是忠心於我吧！」「我乃稱你們為朋友」。忠於你的朋友，不要陷祂於倒霉的地步。

■ 中文上海嗎哪（06月16日）

六月十六日「……你們不能又事奉神，又事奉瑪門。」馬太福音六章24節耶穌從來沒說我們在事奉神的同時，也可以事奉錢。祂說既事奉神又事奉瑪門，根本是不可能的事。如果我們想兩者皆顧，其結果可說是淪為僅僅事奉錢。那些認為自己能在事奉錢之餘，仍然事奉神的人，實在是欺騙自己；因為他們根本不再為神工作，神也不接納這樣不專心的事奉。再者，撒但遲早會完全佔有這些人的時間。一個腳踏兩條船的人，往往會栽在水裡。掃羅試過、巴蘭試過(民廿二至廿四章)、賣耶穌的猶大試過，結果他們的努力都付諸流水，他們更是敗得一塌糊塗。馬利亞則不然，保羅也只選擇單單事奉神，他說：「我只有一件事，就是……要得神在基督耶穌裡從上面召我來得的獎賞。」(腓三13—14)又說：「我們若活著，是為主而活……。」(羅十四8)而對於專心愛神的人，神則說：「……因為他專心愛我，我就要搭救他，因為他知道我的名，我要把他安置在高處。」(詩九一14)對那些選擇全然事奉神的人，祂格外地願意顯現祂的愛。天地雖大都會過去，但主的愛卻長存。我們是否已經選擇單一地事奉祂，並且把我們的心全然為祂擺上？你不是常唱，全然為耶穌？祂真是你尊貴的主，你心中親愛的王嗎？
