阿摩司書, 1章

^1:1 當猶大王烏西雅，以色列王約阿施的兒子耶羅波安在位的時候，大地震前二年，提哥亞牧人中的阿摩司得默示論以色列。 The words of Amos, one of the shepherds of Tekoa--what he saw concerning Israel two years before the earthquake, when Uzziah was king of Judah and Jeroboam son of Jehoash \f 1:1 Hebrew ((Joash,)) a variant of ((Jehoash))\F was king of Israel.
^1:2 他說：耶和華必從錫安吼叫，從耶路撒冷發聲；牧人的草場要悲哀；迦密的山頂要枯乾。 He said: <<The LORD roars from Zion and thunders from Jerusalem; the pastures of the shepherds dry up, \f 1:2 Or ((shepherds mourn))\F and the top of Carmel withers.>>
^1:3 耶和華如此說：大馬士革三番四次地犯罪，我必不免去她的刑罰；因為她以打糧食的鐵器打過基列。 This is what the LORD says: <<For three sins of Damascus, even for four, I will not turn back (((my wrath))). Because she threshed Gilead with sledges having iron teeth,
^1:4 我卻要降火在哈薛的家中，燒滅便哈達的宮殿。 I will send fire upon the house of Hazael that will consume the fortresses of Ben-Hadad.
^1:5 我必折斷大馬士革的門閂，剪除亞文平原的居民和伯‧伊甸掌權的。亞蘭人必被擄到吉珥。這是耶和華說的。 I will break down the gate of Damascus; I will destroy the king who is in \f 1:5 Or ((the inhabitants of))\F the Valley of Aven \f 1:5 ((Aven)) means ((wickedness.))\F and the one who holds the scepter in Beth Eden. The people of Aram will go into exile to Kir,>> r says the LORD.
^1:6 耶和華如此說：迦薩三番四次地犯罪，我必不免去她的刑罰；因為她擄掠眾民交給以東。 This is what the LORD says: <<For three sins of Gaza, even for four, I will not turn back (((my wrath))). Because she took captive whole communities and sold them to Edom,
^1:7 我卻要降火在迦薩的城內，燒滅其中的宮殿。 I will send fire upon the walls of Gaza that will consume her fortresses.
^1:8 我必剪除亞實突的居民和亞實基倫掌權的，也必反手攻擊以革倫。非利士人所餘剩的必都滅亡。這是主耶和華說的。 I will destroy the king \f 1:8 Or ((inhabitants))\F of Ashdod and the one who holds the scepter in Ashkelon. I will turn my hand against Ekron, till the last of the Philistines is dead,>> r says the Sovereign LORD.
^1:9 耶和華如此說：泰爾三番四次地犯罪，我必不免去她的刑罰；因為她將眾民交給以東，並不記念弟兄的盟約。 This is what the LORD says: <<For three sins of Tyre, even for four, I will not turn back (((my wrath))). Because she sold whole communities of captives to Edom, disregarding a treaty of brotherhood,
^1:10 我卻要降火在泰爾的城內，燒滅其中的宮殿。 I will send fire upon the walls of Tyre that will consume her fortresses.>>
^1:11 耶和華如此說：以東三番四次地犯罪，我必不免去她的刑罰；因為她拿刀追趕兄弟，毫無憐憫，發怒撕裂，永懷忿怒。 This is what the LORD says: <<For three sins of Edom, even for four, I will not turn back (((my wrath))). Because he pursued his brother with a sword, stifling all compassion, \f 1:11 Or ((sword / and destroyed his allies))\F because his anger raged continually and his fury flamed unchecked,
^1:12 我卻要降火在提幔，燒滅波斯拉的宮殿。 I will send fire upon Teman that will consume the fortresses of Bozrah.>>
^1:13 耶和華如此說：亞捫人三番四次地犯罪，我必不免去他們的刑罰；因為他們剖開基列的孕婦，擴張自己的境界。 This is what the LORD says: <<For three sins of Ammon, even for four, I will not turn back (((my wrath))). Because he ripped open the pregnant women of Gilead in order to extend his borders,
^1:14 我卻要在爭戰吶喊的日子，旋風狂暴的時候，點火在拉巴的城內，燒滅其中的宮殿。 I will set fire to the walls of Rabbah that will consume her fortresses amid war cries on the day of battle, amid violent winds on a stormy day.
^1:15 他們的王和首領必一同被擄去。這是耶和華說的。 Her king \f 1:15 Or / ((Molech)); Hebrew ((malcam))\F will go into exile, he and his officials together,>> r says the LORD.

五月廿九日「我乃稱你們為朋友。」約翰福音十五章15節數年前某大學有一位年老的德文教授，他的生活是為全校學生所欽佩的。他們中間幾個好奇的學生，很想探聽他所以有這樣生活的祕訣；所以其中有一個學生隱匿在教授的書室中，看他每天晚上在那裡幹些甚麼。教授走進書室，時間已很遲了。看他的樣子似乎很累，但是他坐下來，打開聖經，頂虔誠的讀了一個鐘頭。然後低頭默禱；最後，把聖經關起來，說：「主耶穌，我們又是一次歡聚！」與主歡聚是屬靈生活中的最高點；每一個基督人，該不惜任何代價，尋求與主「又是一次歡聚」。禱告和讀經能使我們覺得基督的實在，越在密室中追求主的同在的，越覺得主的實在。祂正聽著，用你的心聲與祂接觸，靈靈相交，密如心腹，呼吸相通，親同手足。　　　　　　　　　　─貝伯考克

■ 英文荒漠甘泉（05月29日）

May 29 "I have called you friends." (John 15:15.) 　ＹEARS ago there was an old German professor whose beautiful life was a marvel to his students. Some of them resolved to know the secret of it; so one of their number hid in the study where the old professor spent his evenings. 　It was late when the teacher came in. He was very tired, but he sat down and spent an hour with his Bible. Then he bowed his head in secret prayer; and finally closing the Book of books, he said, 　"Well, Lord Jesus, we're on the same old terms." 　To know Him is life's highest attainment; and at all costs, every Christian should strive to be "on the same old terms with Him." 　The reality of Jesus comes as a result of secret prayer, and a personal study of the bible that is devotional and sympathetic. Christ becomes more real to the one who persists in the cultivation of His presence. Speak thou to Him for He hearth, 　And spirit with spirit will meet! 五月廿九日　從天上差來的聖靈「靠著從天上差來的聖靈，傳福音給你們。」彼得前書一章12節基督已經教導過我們，天父預備賜福給地上屬祂的兒女，主親自引用天上的榮耀說，我們要與祂在天上同坐，聖靈要帶著所有的亮光、慈愛、喜樂和能力，從天上澆灌在我們的心中。那些被充滿的人，就有屬天的生命，他們的言行都合於天上的樣式，他們每天與父神並祂兒子交通，他們思想上面的事，那兒有基督藏在父神裏面，他們有屬天的心志，他們有屬天永生命運的印記。一個人的屬天性情是培養成的，藉著從天賜下聖靈在我們心中做屬天的工作，使我們如樂園長成聖靈的果子，聖靈要復興我們的靈，每天與天上的神相交，並教導我們有屬天的樣式，聖靈也讓基督屬天的榮耀在我們心中成形，也要我們藏在祂裏面。一個基督徒每天應該從父神接受聖靈的引導，讓祂使你勝過世界，加力量給你，使你成為天國的孩子，每天與父神並主耶穌同行；千萬不可疑惑，如果你信靠降服於聖靈。讓祂管理你，祂自然會成就祂的工作，你可以將這種屬天的喜樂與別人分享，幫助他們接受聖靈引導，在屬天的喜樂和基督的愛裏行事。

五月廿九日　不能擾亂的關係「到那日，你們要奉我的名祈求……」「父自己愛你們。」約翰福音十六章26、27節「到那日，你們要奉我的名祈求」，那就合於我的心意。你不要把我的名奉為一種法術語，卻要與我親密起來，好叫你與我合而為一。「那日」，不是以後的一日，卻是此世現在的一日。「父自己愛你們」──是表示完全絕對的聯絡，我們的主並不是說生活沒有外面的困難，卻是說祂怎樣知道父的心靈，因此祂得以藉著聖靈的洗，把我們超拔到天上去，在那裡，把神的旨意啟示我們。「你們奉我的名，無論向父求甚麼……」。到那日，是神和聖徒之間的關係不攪亂的日子。耶穌怎樣在祂父面前沒有玷污，所以我們也能藉著聖靈洗禮的大能，得以被拔到這種關係中──「好叫他們合而為一，像我們合而為一」。「祂必賜給你們」。耶穌說神將聽我們的祈禱。這是怎樣的一種挑戰啊！藉著耶穌復活和升天的能力，藉著差來的聖靈，我們得以升到與父有如此的關係中；即使我們用我們的自由擇選，也能與神的旨意合而為一，如耶穌基督一樣。耶穌把我們安放在這種奇妙的地位上，我們能奉祂的名就是祂的本性，向我們祈求，這是聖靈所給我們的恩賜，而耶穌也說──「你們無論奉我的名向父求甚麼，祂必賜給你們」。耶穌基督的品性，是可以由祂自己的言語去認識的。

五月廿九日「……身子……乃是為主，主也是為身子」哥林多前書六章13節正如基督使我們稱義、成為聖潔，我們若要得著健康的身體、罪得拯救，惟有靠祂，並親自與祂合而為一。得著基督不是僅靠著祂所賜給我們身體的力量，亦不是只從自然的力量和生命中，得到身體所需的一切。相反的，乃是藉著連合我們這必死的身體和主耶穌基督復活的身體而得著。惟有靠著祂的生命進到我們的生命中，祂自己才能成為我們的力量、健康，以及整個身體的贖價。祂雖然是永活的神，卻降格地住在我們這泥土做成的肉身中。因此，只要接受祂的人，就能比那些拒絕祂的人更認識基督。祂住在我們裡面，可說是福音最最珍貴的奧秘。哥林多前書六章13—20節說：「……身子……乃是為主，主也是為身子……豈不知你們的身子就是聖靈的殿麼……你們不是自己的人，因為你們是重價買來的，所以，你們要在你們的身子上榮耀神。」
