1:1 奉 神旨意,蒙召作耶穌基督使徒的保羅,同兄弟所提尼, Paul, called to be an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, and our brother Sosthenes,
1:2 寫信給在哥林多 神的教會,就是在基督耶穌裏成聖、蒙召作聖徒的,以及所有在各處求告我主耶穌基督之名的人。基督是他們的主,也是我們的主。 To the church of God in Corinth, to those sanctified in Christ Jesus and called to be holy, together with all those everywhere who call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ--their Lord and ours: 1:3 願恩惠、平安從 神我們的父並主耶穌基督歸與你們。 Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 1:4 我常為你們感謝我的 神,因 神在基督耶穌裏所賜給你們的恩惠; I always thank God for you because of his grace given you in Christ Jesus. 1:5 又因你們在他裏面凡事富足,口才、知識都全備, For in him you have been enriched in every way--in all your speaking and in all your knowledge-- 1:6 正如我為基督作的見證,在你們心裏得以堅固, because our testimony about Christ was confirmed in you. 1:7 以致你們在恩賜上沒有一樣不及人的,等候我們的主耶穌基督顯現。 Therefore you do not lack any spiritual gift as you eagerly wait for our Lord Jesus Christ to be revealed. 1:8 他也必堅固你們到底,叫你們在我們主耶穌基督的日子無可責備。 He will keep you strong to the end, so that you will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. 1:9 神是信實的,你們原是被他所召,好與他兒子─我們的主耶穌基督一同得分。 God, who has called you into fellowship with his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, is faithful. 1:10 弟兄們,我藉我們主耶穌基督的名勸你們都說一樣的話。你們中間也不可分黨,只要一心一意,彼此相合。 0 I appeal to you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another so that there may be no divisions among you and that you may be perfectly united in mind and thought. 1:11 因為革來氏家裏的人曾對我提起弟兄們來,說你們中間有紛爭。 My brothers, some from Chloe's household have informed me that there are quarrels among you. 1:12 我的意思就是你們各人說:「我是屬保羅的」;「我是屬亞波羅的」;「我是屬磯洗的」;「我是屬基督的」。 What I mean is this: One of you says, <<I follow Paul>>; another, <<I follow Apollos>>; another, <<I follow Cephas(\f1 1:12 That is, Peter)>>; still another, <<I follow Christ.>> 1:13 基督是分開的嗎?保羅為你們釘了十字架嗎?你們是奉保羅的名受了洗嗎? Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Were you baptized into(\f2 1:13 Or|i in|d; also in verse 15) the name of Paul? 1:14 我感謝 神,除了基利司布並該猶以外,我沒有給你們一個人施洗; I am thankful that I did not baptize any of you except Crispus and Gaius, 1:15 免得有人說,你們是奉我的名受洗。 so no one can say that you were baptized into my name. 1:16 我也給司提法那家施過洗,此外給別人施洗沒有,我卻記不清。 (Yes, I also baptized the household of Stephanas; beyond that, I don't remember if I baptized anyone else.) 1:17 基督差遣我,原不是為施洗,乃是為傳福音,並不用智慧的言語,免得基督的十字架落了空。 For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel--not with words of human wisdom, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power. 1:18 因為十字架的道理,在那滅亡的人為愚拙;在我們得救的人,卻為 神的大能。 For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 1:19 就如經上所記:我要滅絕智慧人的智慧,廢棄聰明人的聰明。 For it is written: <<I will destroy the wisdom of the wise; the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate.>> (\f3 1:19 Isaiah 29:14) 1:20 智慧人在哪裏?文士在哪裏?這世上的辯士在哪裏? 神豈不是叫這世上的智慧變成愚拙嗎? Where is the wise man? Where is the scholar? Where is the philosopher of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? 1:21 世人憑自己的智慧,既不認識 神, 神就樂意用人所當作愚拙的道理,拯救那些信的人;這就是 神的智慧了。 For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe. 1:22 猶太人是要 神蹟,希臘人是求智慧, Jews demand miraculous signs and Greeks look for wisdom, 1:23 我們卻是傳釘十字架的基督,在猶太人為絆腳石,在外邦人為愚拙; but we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles, 1:24 但在那蒙召的,無論是猶太人、希臘人,基督總為 神的能力, 神的智慧。 but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. 1:25 因 神的愚拙總比人智慧, 神的軟弱總比人強壯。 For the foolishness of God is wiser than man's wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man's strength. 1:26 弟兄們哪,可見你們蒙召的,按著肉體有智慧的不多,有能力的不多,有尊貴的也不多。 Brothers, think of what you were when you were called. 五月十日 「我若不信在活人之地得見耶和華的恩惠,就早已喪膽了。」詩篇廿七篇13節 「不要……喪膽。」(弗三13)這句話是何等重大的考驗關頭,當我們受到了特別的痛苦和喪失的時候,我們的靈何其之消沈,我們的心又是何等的悲痛,我們的信心如何在試煉中發生搖動。 「我不能再忍受了,我喪膽了;我心裡發昏,快要倒下來了。我該怎樣作呢?神叮囑我不要喪膽,但是我連一分鐘都不能支持了。怎麼樣呢?」 當你身體要昏倒的時候,你怎樣作呢?你甚麼事情都不能作。你停止你自己的活動。你倒在你所愛的人身上,緊緊靠著祂,安息。你不再自己設法或努力了,因為你信靠祂。 當你靈性軟弱要昏倒的時候,也該如此。神給我們的信息不是「你當剛強壯膽」,因為祂知道我們已經筋疲力盡,奮興不起來了;祂知道我們的力量和膽量已經消失了。祂給我們的信息乃是「你要休息,要知道我是神。」 戴德生(Hudson Taylor)先生在臨終幾個月,身靈軟弱到極頂,他給他知己朋友的信中說:「我極其軟弱,我不能寫信,我不能讀經,甚至不能禱告。我只能像一個小孩子一樣躺在神的懷中安靜、休息、信靠。」 神要你也如此,當你在痛苦的烈火中喪膽的時候,不必自己設法,只要休息,知道祂是神,祂必支持你,帶你過去。 「神為了我們的昏暈,準備著最佳良的起死回生之藥劑」。 「當壯膽,堅固你的心。」(詩廿七14) 你當堅定,你當壯膽, 過去祂從未使你失望, 難道祂將撤離去, 讓你沈淪,失去了依仗? 不,祂曾經說過, 祂將以翅翼將你圍護, 在那最安全之地, 你可以愉快唱歌。 ─選

May 10 "I had fainted unless……!' (Psalm 27:13.) "FAINT NOT!" HOW great is the temptation at this point! How the soul sinks, the heart grows sick, and the faith staggers under the keen trials and testings which come into our lives in times of special bereavement and suffering. "I cannot bear up any longer, I am fainting under this providence. What shall I do? God tells me not to faint. But what can one do when he is fainting?" What do you do when you are about to faint physically? You cannot do anything. You cease from your own doings. In your faintness, you fall upon the shoulder of some strong loved one. You lean hard. You rest. You lie still and trust. It is so when we are tempted to faint under affliction. God's message to us is not, "Be strong and of good courage," for He knows our strength and courage have fled away. But it is that sweet word, "Be still, and know that I am God." Hudson Taylor was so feeble in the closing months of his life that he wrote a dear friend: "I am so weak I cannot write; I cannot read my Bible; I cannot even pray. I can only lie still in God's arms like a little child, and trust." This wondrous man of God with all his spiritual power came to a place of physical suffering and weakness where he could only lie still and trust. And that is all God asks of you, His dear child, when you grow faint in the fierce fires of affliction. Do not try to be strong. Just be still and know that He is God, and will sustain you, and bring you through. "God keeps His choicest cordials for our deepest faintings." "Stay firm and let thine heart take courage." (Psa. 27:14─After Osterwald.) Stay firm, He has not failed thee In all the past, And will He go and leave thee To sink at last? Nay, He said He will hide thee Beneath His wing; And sweetly there in safety Thou mayest sing. ─Selected.

五月十日 聖靈要榮耀基督 「祂要榮耀我,因為祂要將受於我的告訴你們。」約翰福音十六章14節 若要想明白聖靈的工作並且親身體驗,必須要先瞭解聖靈和主耶穌的關係。當主離地升天以前,我們的主曾明確地說道,聖靈要降臨成為門徒的保惠師,將主在天的榮耀啟示在他們心裏,使門徒充滿這種思想,他們不僅不會失去他們的主,而且可以永遠和祂同在。為了主可永遠和他們在一起,必須迫切地求得聖靈。主親自向他們保證:聖靈要向他們啟示祂自己。 今天的經文——「聖靈要榮耀我」——的意義,是祂要把我在天上的榮耀啟示你們,祂要將我的一切——慈愛、喜樂、平安和整個生命——「告訴你們。」在任何地方如有渴望榮耀耶穌的心靈,聖靈會進入那人的心中,就如主耶穌的同在永不離開。我們必須努力不懈地祈求神的同在,並耶穌基督永遠內住和交通;愛祂,遵祂的命令而行,做任何事都奉主的名並根據祂的話,然後我們才能得到聖靈大能運行的訣要。 我們再次來背誦並思想加拉太書五章22節的價值,假如我們渴望永遠擁有主,並祂的慈愛、喜樂、平安——然後聖靈才會榮耀地將這些果子,在我們裏面成熟。如我們對於聖靈和父神有極大的渴慕,基督就會因此得榮耀,讓我們的日常生活有這種渴慕和禱告吧!

五月十日 動起手來 「有了信心,又要加上德行,有了德行,又要加上決心,有了……決心,又要加上……」彼得後書一章5節 「加上」,是表示我們有了甚麼事要做。我們不能做神所做的,神不做我們所能做的,這是我們很容易忘記的。我們不能救自己,也不能使自己成聖,這是神的功夫;但是神不以好習慣賜於我們,不以品性賜於我們,也不勉強我們走正路,這一切,是我們自己應該做的,我們要作成神所曾計畫的救恩。「加上」是獲得了做事習慣之意,不過起初,確有相當的困難。動起手來,教導自己走上你所要走的道路。 你所熟知的道路,不必探問。動起手來,不要趄趄不前,當神有所言的時候,要有決心,馬上抱著信心去實行祂所說的,萬不可改變你的決心。如果神吩咐你做一件事,你猶疑不決,你便動搖了蒙恩的地位。動手做去,把它看為自己的事,即刻遵依你的意志著手,切勿後退。當燒斷你後面的橋樑──「我要寫那封信;」「我要償還那筆償。」要把這些事看為非做不可。 我們要在每件事上,養成靜聽神的聲音,和察看神有何話說的習慣。如果危機來到,我們就自然地趨向神,我們知道這種習慣既已養成,我們就在我們所在的地方動手,不在我們不在的地方動手。

五月十日 「我……直活到永永遠遠……」啟示錄一章18節 這句話是死在十架上的主的信息。雖然祂曾死過,但祂的復活更榮耀、珍貴。注意這幾個簡單的字所帶給十字架的光輝和榮耀,是件很美、很令人鼓舞的事。這句話不是:「我曾死過,現在又活了。」乃是:「又是那存活的。我曾死過,現在又活了,直活到永永遠遠……。」注意:主是活的,死過、又活了。 仰望十字架的方法有兩種。一種是從死亡來看,另一種是從生命的觀點著手。第一種看到的是一位被釘死的人,第二種見到的是一位榮耀之主,以及祂身上的釘痕和刺傷。我們應該用第二種角度看十字架,不再帶著墳墓的模型,乃是擁有復活的榮耀。因為主不再是釘死的人,而是復活的基督。 我們釘死的經驗應該徹底到能消失在復活裡,我們甚至應該忘卻一切憂傷、面帶復活節清晨的光輝及榮耀。讓我們充分地發揮復活的生命,使這生命一天新似一天,更充滿活力。因為這個生命乃是復活的生命,直到永永遠遠。
